Vikings "very close" to acquiring Randy Moss?
Admiral Awesome replied to tecklc2112's topic in FFToday Board
There are certain players who were meant to be a legacy on a certain team, and Randy's was the Vikings. Nobody can ever take away what he did in Minnesota. 17 TDs his rookie year is a record that will stand the test of time. Having said that, it's clear Childress is bent on keeping his old QB happy and he's trying to save his @$$. Everyone knows Favre isn't what he was last year and Childress can't coach to save his life. It looks as if Minnesota gave the power to Favre to run this team, and if Childress is going to interfere with what Favre wants, it will all blow up. Brad Childress is backseat now. This isn't going to work well either. I think there will be a clash of egos. Both Favre and Moss believe in the "me first" mentality, and Childress does not have the experience to bring them together. When the Vikings fail to win the big one this year, the finger pointing will begin and one or both of them will have to go. It's either Favre's last year or Randy's last stint. -
Mike Williams versus a stingy Pittsburgh defense, or Mike Sims-Walker (0 points his first week, 14 the next) versus a Philadelphia defense?
-
I don't think this guy will last long this year. Besides those two TDs, he had a 1.5 YPC average. That's definitely not going to make a long lasting impression in the NFL. He'll be on the bench next week.
-
Never mind the fact that Ryan Mathews got hurt. The guy has underperformed two weeks in a row, and now his ankle will slow him down. The Chargers took the worst running back in this class. Prepare for waivers.
-
Look, I don't have better options. Ricky doesn't get enough touches.
-
I started him. Ryan Mathews sucks though.
-
Look at me! I have nothing useful to say, so I'm just going to post something unrelated!
-
Mike Tolbert is keeping up with him, if not passing him up. He wasn't even drafted. Mathews can be outperformed by many running backs in this league. He doesn't have outstanding speed, and he isn't exactly elusive. I have no idea why he was so talked over to begin with. The kid came from Fresno State.
-
Yes I have, and I know a good running back when I see one. Mathews is mediocre and easily replaceable.
-
Alright so I have a weak running core in a ten team league. I have Ryan Mathews, Jahvid Best, and Ricky Williams in my slot. I'm thinking of replacing Ricky Williams, who is playing a Minnesota defense, in exchange for Mike Williams, Tampa's number one wide receiver. Or should I bench Jahvid Best?

Mike Williams TB or Ricky Williams

Looks like Bests value took a nose dive too. -
I'd love to see them use a wildcat offense with Michael Vick.

Someone just dropped Pierre Garcon. Here's a little background information. First, I have three QBs on my roster since I just participated in a three way trade that gave me Brady in exchange for Ronnie Brown. I am also holding onto Donovan McNabb and Roethlisberger. Second, I have Reggie Wayne. However, I was thinking it would be a good idea to pick up Garcon in case an unfortunate event ever occurs. My other wide receivers are AJ, Mike Sims-Walker, Mike Wallace and Mike Williams. On the other hand, one team only has one QB. So if McNabb or Roethlisberger does well, I can use them as trade bait.

It's a three way trade. I am getting Tom Brady for exchange of Ronnie Brown. However my running backs suck. I have Ryan Mathew, Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Jahvid Best, Thomas Jones and Montario Hardesty. This is a ten team league. Should I pull the trigger. My QB I have is Donovan McNabb and Roethlisberger on bench.

I like Pierre Garcon. I think he will have a good year. You could be a contender.
-
It's a toss up. Maurice Jones-Drew is hampered with some small injuries, but I feel like he'd get more passes. Adrian Peterson doesn't catch the ball out in backfield as much as Maurice Jones-Drew, or I'd think because Jones is the biggest play maker on the team. Although Rice and Harvin might not be around which means more looks for AP. I think you could go either way.

Mike Williams a.k.a. the next Randy Moss.

1. The Saints do not make the playoffs. 2. Shanahan and McNabb do amazing things this year. I don't quite know what, but they'll figure something out. 3. Maurice Jones-Drew does not finish in the top five running backs. 4. Green Bay Packers reach the Super Bowl. 5. Mike Williams receives 5 touchdowns and 900 yards. 6. Dennis Dixon plays great, and proves he is starting material. 7. Denver finishes last in the AFC West. 8. Kolb goes down in the middle of the season and Michael Vick has to start a few games. 9. Westbrook has a decent year and rushes for 600 yards and 6 touchdowns. 10. Terrell Owens has more yards than Ochocinco.

I have Donovan McNabb and Ben Roethlisberger as my QB. He wants a running back. I can offer him Jahvid Best with Donovan McNabb or Thomas Jones with Donovan McNabb. Who should I try to get rid of first? I'm leaning towards Thomas Jones, but I feel like Jahvid Best could have a mediocre season and Thomas Jones could pull through towards the end of the season if Charles gets injured. Thoughts?
