I doubt they will dive much more into the science stuff. Maybe at the very end of the show. This series is based on the comics, which is based on human interaction during an apocalypse. Any apocalypse. This one just happens to be a zombie outbreak.

From what I know, you are correct in both. The "new" bad guy won't be around until next season at the earliest though. I saw that blurb from the producer. The three new characters that were kind of introduced all play pretty big roles going forward.

I just got over the flu about 3 weeks ago. I had it for about 2 weeks. I was given a flu test, and that's what they said I had. It wasn't the stomach flu. I was one of 64 people in my county at the time to have been diagnosed. It was the H1N1 strain. It was nasty stuff. I had every symptom except for the vomiting and diahrea. You don't necessarily get ALL of the symptoms. The chills and headache especially were the worst. I wanted to die. When people say "stomach flu" that is NOT the same thing as the flu. They don't compare. Not even close. If I were to choose one to have, give me the "stomach flu" any day of the week. The stomach flu isn't the flu. I also seem to get acute bronchitis every year. Again, not even in the same realm as the "real" flu.
