QB's rarely do either. Saw something the other day, that the highest percentage of a teams salary that was paid to a SB was Mahomes at 17.2%. Before that 12.6 for Brady when he was in TB(and they had a pretty flexible cap). I've always said many times that Brady's willingness to slot into a reasonable contract(despite always ranking in the top 3 QBs every year) is one of the biggest reasons the Pats were able to consistently win for all those years. I think there will be a QB pay correction, coming soon.

I was more leaning into the skill position players that aren't QB's, since they are a crazy outlier on the pay scale in nearly all capped sports in term sof percentage of salary spent on position. Jefferson(all runs + passes thrown to him) is targeted 9.6 times a game for 98.7 yards per game. McCaffrey 21 targets, 115 yards per game. Like WW said, terms of punishment, career length, it's pretty crazy IMO, that Jeffereson is worth almost 2X yearly. As they both just set new high water marks, I thought it was an interesting comparison.
