Yeah, but Live Wire wasn't on that album, it was on Too Fast for Love and that came out in 81.

    Good morning

Went and had the convertible detailed on Saturday. When they called to say it was done, I decided, well it's only an hour walk, so I'll walk. About halfway there, I got a blister on my foot, but I was at the point of no return so that sucked. On the plus side, the car looks gorgeous, paint is restored to like it's new. If I'm lucky, the construction crews that have been working my road will finish soon so I can use the garage again. Been 2 weeks already and I still can't use my driveway. Every geek, have a great week.

  12. Alan Arkin, the Oscar-winning star of β€œLittle Miss Sunshine,” has died, his family announced Friday. He was 89. β€œOur father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man. A loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather, he was adored and will be deeply missed,” his sons Adam, Matthew, and Anthony Arkin said in a statement to CNN. Born in Brooklyn to Russian-German Jewish immigrant parents, his family moved to Los Angeles when he was a child. Arkin attended Bennington College but left to form the music group, The Tarriers in which he sang and played guitar. The group didn’t stay together long but had a hit with β€œThe Banana Boat Song” in 1957. He then went on to become a founding member of the Second City improvisational troupe, and also continued to record music, including several children’s albums with his group, The Babysitter. But acting was also a passion and Arkin won a Tony Award for his Broadway debut performance in the 1963 play β€œEnter Laughing” and a Drama Desk award for directing the 1968 play β€œLittle Murders,” which he also directed for the big screen. Arkin also directed the original Broadway version of Neil Simon’s β€œThe Sunshine Boys,” which ran for more than 500 performances. In his film work, he became one of a handful of actors to be Oscar nominated for their first starring role. In Arkin’s case, he was nominated for his role as as Rozanov in the 1966 war comedy, β€œThe Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming. He also earned Oscar nominations for his performances in β€œThe Heart is a Lonely Hunter” (1967), and β€œArgo” (2012).

    CNN Hacked?

So I just went over to CNN and all the stuff on the front page are stories from April 18th? Anyone else seeing this? Checked in 2 different browsers.

    CNN Hacked?

Okay it seems normal now. I tried it on 2 different computers and got the April 18th thing, so it couldn't have been a cookie or something. Tried multiple browsers too, that was just weird. Literally one of my computers has the old stuff still up.

    Alec Baldwin killed a woman

Aside from being extremely inexperienced, she might have been tweaked out on coke that day. Not a good day for her lawyer.

Alan Arkin-Oscar-winning actor, dead at 89

He's in one of my favorite underrated comedies, 1979's The In-Laws. This scene still cracks me up.

  19. If I were a college and still wanted to increase diversity and equality, I would change the standards from race based affirmative action to a financial based one. Lower the threshold for people that live in economically distressed areas. You would achieve nearly the same outcome and would be able to get around the racial component.

    If You Could Swap….

His type of music isn't something I normally would search for, so maybe that's why I've missed it all this time. But in the last 10 years it seems film makers are rediscovering him and that's how I've been introduced to him. Guessing since you'd whack Paul Simon for him, maybe I'll do a deeper dig and give rest of his catalogue a listen.
