    Credit card fockery...

Isn't that included in the focking price of the food. When I worked in the kitchens - it varied - but most often the kitchen would get split 10% of whatever the waitresses were tipped.

    Credit card fockery...

That does have some merit. Inflation might have cut their already slim margins to the point that the 3-6% charged by credit cards is causing them to be unprofitable on credit card transaction. If that's the case though, they are also making less on cash transactions too and need to increase the price of their food. Or it can be a combination of both.

    Credit card fockery...

Restaurants generally don't have high margins, most average around 5%. So, yeah, if they can save the 3-6% on CC fees(by discounting for cash)-or can add it back as a surcharge, a lot will do just that. Don't see it being related to inflation at all.

    Credit card fockery...

Yes, a restaurant can charge different prices for credit cards and cash Merchants apply these fees or discounts because they must pay a processing fee for every card payment they accept. Credit card payments come with far higher processing fees than debit card payments. Surcharging is a way to pass on this fee to the consumer, and in the case of discounting, the merchant is passing on its savings from avoiding this processing fee to the consumer.

    Good morning

Busy weekend for me. Crammed all the personal crap into Saturday, so I could travel to a co-workers wedding on Sunday. She got married in at 1:30 and the reception didn't start until 5:30 and there was only one bar in the entire town. Think everyone at the wedding was crammed into that bar for about 3 hours waiting for the reception. Unless someone elopes, that's the last one I think I have to do this summer. Woohoo. On this day in 1998 "The Mask of Zorro" directed by Martin Campbell, starring Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Anthony Hopkins is released. And I learn who Catherine Zeta-Jones is... Every geek have a great week.

I'm not great either, not like Volty our 5-points who have never missed(I've got 10) - but it's 5 minutes away from the usual BS on the board, so there is that.

  22. I did a search and haven't seen a picture of the 'cubby' area, just a general location. It would go a long way in determining how easy/hard it would be to identify the person, if the secret service is incompetent or is there a possibility of a coverup? Without more info I find all the speculation and conclusions to be pretty silly. ETA, just saw this. I don't find that all surprising, since the people going to those rooms for tours as I understand it have to get access in the form of a special invite. Probably extremely well-vetted before hand. And as far as cameras everywhere, for it to be useful means you have to have a pretty sophisticated recording and storage system. If you have a camera outside of the room or hallway where people are just dropping off their electronic devices, do you need a redundant camera that shows them putting cellphones in a cubby?
