Biden gives life in prison to 37 of 40 federal death row inmates so Trump can't have them executed
Mike Honcho replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Figured he would do that - and wondered whether he would exempt the three. Good, govts shouldn't be killing it's citizens. -

Is that a plus or minus, watching Kifkin cry was funny. -
4 year 180M contract, most likely they cut him before next year 10M roster bonus, but he was guaranteed 100M - all for 14 starts. He must be the all-time luckiest QB ever. At best a 2nd tier starter, yet the way FA fell for him(not a lot of other available QB's), he's maxed out his earnings beyond belief. He's 4th all-time in career earnings, behind Brady, Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan.

How much would it cost? (from Sept 2023 shutdown possibility story) The answer mostly hinges on how long a government shutdown might last. The most recent one lasted 34 days in the winter of 2018-19 and delayed at least $18 billion in spending, which was resumed once the government reopened. That shutdown cost $11 billion at the time, of which the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated $3 billion was lost permanently. The 2018-19 shutdown dragged down U.S. economic growth, leading to an $8 billion hit to real gross domestic product, or a loss of 0.2%, according to the CBO. This time around, the Bipartisan Policy Center think tank forecasts a shutdown could cost upward of $1 billion a week. Full Story

House panel votes to release Matt Gaetz ethics report
Mike Honcho replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
I love: The Biden/Garland DOJ spent years reviewing allegations that I committed various crimes. I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED. Not even a campaign finance violation. And the people investigating me hated me. Lies and faulty logic. The investigation started under the Trump/Bill Barr, and not being charged <> FULLY EXONERATED. Heck, him not being charged is more suspect because of that. Christ, it's so sad how easy it is to lie people today---he's on my team---this must be true. -

He directly paid teenage escorts from his Venmo(that's public), how was he being railroaded? -
Of course that's a big reason why they settled, discovery. They looked at what happened to Sony when the North Korea leaked all their dirty laundry and were like screw that. The case was an absolute loser and non-starter legally for Trump, but he cornered ABC and gets a small win. If people think this proves he would of won, ---look at the 90 million E.Jean got for the second defamation by Trump or how much Fox paid for defamation to Dominion(800M) and then tell me he won.
-
The media admits mistakes and makes retractions and updates all the time. They would lose more credibility if they didn't. People get fired/resign all the time for making big mistakes or lies, so I'm not sure where you are getting that. Let's say he was warned (I see the NY POST and the Daily Mirror are reporting it), that might point to actual malice, but that's only one of the three legs of defamation. It still doesn't prove that he knowingly lied, all he George would have to do is say the judge said it, or that it led to financial injury to Trump---IMO, it's about as cut and dry and beef jerky. ABC wanted this to go away and the outrage is because they settled, it is that simple. Iger looked at the bottom line of ALL OF DISNEY's businesses and decided that 15 million was a lot cheaper than getting into a pissing match with Trump and millions and millions of consumers.
-
ABC wasn't punished, Disney grabbed some pocket change off the counter and threw at Trump to go away. That is so much cheaper and less personally costly than having to be deposed and having to lead off the news every night with a story about your news being in court against the president. Had this gone to court, they win in a slam dunk. Quote from the judge: βThe finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was βrapedβ within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump βrapedβ her as many people commonly understand the word βrape,β β Kaplan wrote. He added, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.β Not in a million is George Stephanopoulos and ABC news found guilty of defamation---ie, he knowingly lied when the judge who oversaw the case said Trump raped her. I don't know what is leading you, but it's not clear thought or logic.

I don't think Nancy Mace would let him/her to use the bathrooms. -
Everyone should agree - the debt ceiling is stupid. Congress has to raise the debt ceiling to allow us to borrow money to pay for the things they already bought. It's absurd.

Solid wood - probably something from Homecrest or American Woodmark.
