I'm just going by the story - but she wasn't exactly told it wasn't available. So Whoopi is the one who is alleging this was political - not sure what evidence she has offered to support that. The baker says mechanical, and didn't want to commit to a delivery she might not have been able to do in time. Also, just because you make a request to a baker, doesn't mean it automatically is granted, it's a take a number business, the lady might have had 100 other orders ahead of Whoopi's. Clearly more details need to be made before we can come down on either side - but based on the story, I'm guess the 145 year old bakery knows something about customer service.

Seems a focked up from Whoopi from the start. So she got her order - then she goes on TV to say it was politics? WTF, she got the damn order. Now this poor woman has to deal with the fallout. Despite the outcry in the other thread that Alex Jones free speech rights were being trampled, I bet nobody would object if the bakery owner sued Whoopi for defamation, I know I wouldn't.

The virtue signalling usually bothers me, (Multiverse of Madness, "America" has two mothers, Agatha All Along-the kid is gay), but not at all in The Penguin. Just felt like we are going to have a sidekick(probably so Penguin isn't just talking to himself explaining his plans) and it's going to be someone he would organically meet. IMO, other than the contrivance of a sidekick at all - I never felt like his ethnicity was about virtue signalling, but more "hey, this is the type of person he would meet in this particular world". Now the stutter-I could have done without that(that was scripted).
