Any rookie QB who does well is usually the exception, not the rule. If I'm a GM who drafts a QB in the first round(usually that's cause your team sucks), I wouldn't let the coach start him for a year. Also, I don't think it's even fair to evaluate young QB's until they have had 8 games, then start the evaluations, with my time table being about 16 games. So by the 24th start of their career you kind of know what you are going to get. In an optimal situation that would be their 3rd year in the NFL.
