    McFadden, Mendenhall, and Stewart

I would not be surprised if the Bears took a RB in the first round.
  2. What do their respective girl friends/wives look like? THAT seems to be a key part of information in order to make a decision.
  3. Hopefully you sent an email right after it happened. If the other guy does not reverse it, he is a jerk, imo. If he won't reverse it, you live with your mistake and go on. Sometimes mistakes we make turn out to be the best deals. Depending on your team, I actually think it is a fair deal.

Unless Eli totally reverts back ...

Hard to figure a repeat is a sure thing with any team, except maybe the Pats, but even that is up in the air in the tough AFC. Giants are in a pretty competitive division and the Cowboys will be a major hurdle, unless they too fall apart. This was a big maturation year for Romo and he did pretty darn well..as Eli did. I want to see if the Giants can help their secondaryin the off season. Their D-line was awsome, in the superbowl and maybe they can keep that going I am curious to see how the Eagles rebound and if Arizona will ever amount to anything.

Romo is NFC East's new biggest choker

Not a Cowboy fan, but I thought the play of the Dallas WRs and the O-line were the real culprits in the Dallas loss yesterday.

    2008 Free Agents

Berrian is gonna cost someone $8M per year. I don't think the Bears will pay him that kinda money.

What will H. Ward do tonight?

Well, I understand Holmes is out, so if that is true, maybe Ward will receive some more looks.
  9. Is Santonio Holmes "out" tonight? Thought I heard Friday that he was unlikely to play.

A cyber-prayer vigil for Ronnie Brown

Ronnie Brown was NOT a 2nd round pick!

    Trading Ethics

I agree on the Henry views. No need to try and pull the wool over owners. Just a classless move. Just a side note. I own Selvin in a League where I have Henry also. So far tonight I have received 2 ridiculous offers for Henry. The offers involving hurt players like Sanatana Moss and another for Bobby Wade were laughable.

    To Everyone Picking 8-11

Had a draft today where we play PPR. The 1st 12 pick were all RBs. In the 11 hole I took Henry and Chad J in round 2. Just thought the Drew, Benson, McGahee guys were not good enough at that 2nd pick. We play 3 WR, so that position has a lot of value. I really wanted to take a RB, but was not sold enough on any of them. Time will tell!

    Roy Williams over Marvin Harrison

Well, I like Rudi, but less than thrilled with McNabb as a keeper (as compared to another RB or WR). I agree with your assessment of the RBs at your turn. You have to go for the win this year so..............................I say take Harrison and worry about the keepers next year!

    Roy Williams over Marvin Harrison

If I am reading your post correctly, then this is a partial keeper league, right? You said several players are already being kept. Who are your keepers? If you have strong keepers (ie. Jackson and Chad J), maybe there is virtually no chance that the guy you take will be held over next year, is that correct? If that is the case, you should take Harrison, for this year, because of his consistency. If you have no keepers or have weak keepers, you need to probably look at the younger stud RBs or WRs, that have a good chance of being retained by you next year. Although I love Harrison, his age dimishes his value....to a rebuilding keeper team. Somebody above mentioned Fitzgerald, which would fit the bill of the yound stud WR keeper type. In a redraft league, no way Fitz goes before Harrison. As far as Roy Williams instead of Harrison, you have to be realistic in a keeper league and look at you team. Sometimes there is just too small a chance of winning in the current year. When guys come in and take over abandoned teams in keeper leagues, they often get really bad teams. They draft rookies and pick up upside free agent players that may be more help down the round then in the current year. Only you can make that decision about your current team.

    Grossman is HORRIBLE!

I have to admit, Grossman disappointed me last night. I still think he can be okay because of the flashes I have seen (maybe not last night). I hate to be using the, "he's pretty young" excuse, but he is. The fumbles from snap can be easily corrected as JAWS was saying last night. What really ticked me off was the constant checkdowns on almost every single play. No way to know if they wanted him to do that and NO WAY Lovie will tell the truth about that so we may never know. I did think JAWS had an interesting stat comparing Manning and Grossman at this same point in their careers. They were very similar although Manning had more TDs. The wins were in favor of Grossman, but the interception ratios and completion %'s weere very close. No, I do not think Grossman is Manning, but the stat may bely the fact that youth is part of Grossman's problem. Whoever noted Grossman's IQ I think is correct. In his interviews he does not exude intelligence. Orton is not the answer. He will never be more than a marginal #2. That much I am sure of.

    Who's moving up your board

QB - I know a lot of people here hate him, but I think Rex Grossman will be a good value. To be honest, after the first 6 QBs, the rest of the QBs have a ton of questions, also. RB - Although not really a sleeper, a guy that has fallen out of favor is Lamont Jordan. People here are talking about taking him after the 10th round, but in a coupl of leagues I am in that are RB hungry, he went between the 7th and 9th round. WR - I think Galloway is going to be a nice value with Garcia throwing. I also like P Crayton ...........real late as a fill in starter. TE - Bo Scaife K - Mare D - A few people have jumped on SF as a real late bargain, although I have not yet focused on this position much this year.

    any news on henrys knee?

I am not a Henry lover, but sprains are just that...........bad luck. I did not see the play, but it could have been the result of a guy hitting him from a bad angle or from hard tough running and a tough hit. If a guy is always pulling a hammy ..that is another thing. Then I get real worried. A guy like Benson worries me way more than Henry. That being said......both guys will not last past the end of the 2nd round, if that far. I study hard enough, but thanks for the advice. I love to play in leagues with guys like you who over analyze every black and blue mark and every muscle twitch in pre-season.

    any news on henrys knee?

Sprains and strains happen. He played well the week before and caught some bad luck last night. Assuming it really is a 1st degree sprain he will be fine. Look, if you liked him and were drafting 6th, maybe you take a look at your options. If you are drafting 10th-12th, you probably need to keep him on your radar. He falls into the group of RBs like Benson, McGahee and R Brown. All those guys have question marks, but none of those players are going to be there in the mid 3rd round.
  19. Lynn Dickey - Packers Go murdered that year!
  20. I think Rudi at 12 is a good pick. Won't get many receptions outta him, but he is pretty consistent and the offense is good in Cincy. I think it benefits you that McGahee and Manning will likely be gone in your league. You should get a coupla really decent RBs at #12 and #13, if you choose to go that way.
  21. I too find it hard to believe that Addai, Bush or FWP will be there, but if any of them are there, that pick should be fairly easy. If two of them are there, flip a coin. I draft 11th in a pretty competitive league and I am expecting 10 RBs to be gone in front of me leaving my choices as most likely Henry,Rudi, R Brown and Drew. I think the following will be gone (LT2, LJ, Jackson, Gore, Addai, Bush, Westbrook, FWP, Alexander and Maroney). I like Henry this year, Shanahan or no Shanahan and at this point inthe draft, their are no sure things at the RB spot. We would all love to get LT or Jackson, but it just isn't possible. I probably take Rudi or Henry in the first and project what I think will be left at RB in the 3rd round, in case I take a WR in the 2nd. Not ideal, but I have usually done pretty well drafting at the end of the first round in the past....so we'll see.

    Chicago/N.W. Indiana/Cleveland/Pitt Geeks!

I put out a post early this morning about possible Chicago suburbs in the North , West and South, but for some reason it was deleted. Not sure why because there was nothing bad about it.....or was it a different thread about the same subject?

    ATTN: Chicago/Indiana/Clev/Pitt Homers!

Chicago is a great city! Plenty to do for young and old. The winters get not as bad as people think, but I do wish we had a little earlier Spring or later Fall. Anyway, as far as location there are tons or recommendations. I assume ou want the suburbs, but the location depends on how close to a major airport you need, the location of your office, etc., etc. Housing prices have risen a lot over the last several years like a lot of places. Although a little weaker, the values have not moved downward as bad as some cities, fro what I read. Possible locations: North-Northwest: Evanston - Pricey, but on lake and has a very much city like atmoshere Northbrook- More afordable than Evanston, but great schools and sports programs. Farther from Chicago than Evanston. West: Elmhurst-Great central location. Close to Ohare. 20 miles from Chicago Naperville-Fantastic community 30 miles from Chicago. Great restaurants and more afordable housing than any of the suburbs mentioned above. The suburb is very large and it can be hard to get around on weekends with tons of traffic South: Tinley & Orland Park-More affordable generally out South then other locations. However, these suburbs are VERY nice and have all the amenities of the others. Location is a little inferior (imo) than west and north because transprtatio is better West and Nort (more train lines, etc.). Closer to Midway airport than O'Hare and more like 40 miles to Chicago. There are other areas, some more expensive and some less expensive. Schools are often times the deciding factor. Good transportation in suburbs with a lot of trains.

Does anyone out there actually like Lamont Jordan?

I play in a couple dynasty leagues and a couple re-draft leagues. Lamont has more value in a dynasty league than a re-draft based on where he could end up if his Raider days are waning. That being said, he is a decent back on a below average team, but he should get a majority of the carries. It is hard for me to believe that in most competitive leagues he is going to be available as a 4th or 5th RB. I have to think he is gonna be somebody's #3, unless teams do nothing but draft RBs (I know it happens) and abandon other positions. It may depend on the starting line-up configurations in the leagues. If you have to play 2 RBs, Lamont has to be a #3, imo. If there are run and shoot options (1 RB & 4 WRs), then MAYBE Lamont could be someone's 4th RB.

Best sleeper qb's ....later in draft

I am a Bear's fan, but certainly no rah-raher for all Bear players at all positions. I am going to cast my votes for Grossman and Leinert. I think Rothlisberger might be a nice late draft pick also. Rex had some miserable games last year, but he showed talent in a lot of others. Word out of Bear's camp is that his footwork (which caused him problems last year) is much improved. Leinert has the weapons to be a nice little play if you go for RB and WR early in your draft. I hear the O-line will be better, but who knows? Although I like Kitna, he is moving way up draft boards of the guys I talk with. I think he is gonna be WAY more expensive than the guys I mentioned above, imo.
