    Scariest Weekend of All

Had this happen to a guy two years ago in one of my leagues (actually that league drafts tonight so it could very well happen again.) He drafted Jordy Nelson in the late 1st round. Roughly an hour later, still mid-draft, news broke that he blew out his ACL and was done for the year.

    Jameis Winston

Because he's mediocre at best on the road which accounts for half the games he plays. He still gets decent yards but a TD:INT ratio of 14:17 on the road in the past two years doesn't give me huge hopes at a position where TDs are critically important to scoring potential. That's below 1 TD per game on average and that is atrocious for a starting fantasy QB. If you take Big Ben you are practically required to take a second starting-caliber QB to play whenever he's on the road. As for Winston, I'm not nearly as bullish on him as the FFToday ratings but the potential is absolutely there. I think he has a MUCH higher ceiling than the guys going in the same area as him in the draft... he also has a much lower floor than them so it's a risk/reward proposition. I have him in a semi-keeper league where we can keep anyone drafted 8th round or later last year if we forfeit the same round pick this year. I took him in the 8th last year and I'm heavily leaning toward keeping him when we draft tonight.

1 pt ppr redraft league I have pick 5. OBJ still?

Shady McCoy has been going in the 5-7 territory in most of my drafts so far, I'd honestly take him over OBJ or Evans. I may be a little biased as a Bills homer but he is literally their whole offense at this point. There is a legitimate chance he will lead the team in both rushing yards and receptions this year. It seems funny to favor the running back in PPR league but Shady is literally the best passing option on the team right now unless Zay Jones turns out to be amazing or Charles Clay decides to actually start earning that monster contract they gave him. I wouldn't put money on either of those things happening so Shady having 50+ receptions out of the backfield this year is not only possible, I'd say it's pretty damn likely.
  4. 2 different leagues but the same format - Standard scoring, 1/2 PPR LEAGUE ONE (Need WR2 and FLEX from this group) Michael Floyd Vs TB Rashad Jennings Vs NO Theo Riddick Vs TEN Nelson Agholor @CHI FLEX Jordan Matthews @CHI OR Kelvin Benjamin Vs SF
  5. It's really hard to bench Cobb but my gut is in agreement with yours today. NO defense is SOOOO bad. I smell a shootout. GB on the other hand could easily go up big very early and run the clock out. I'd go Shepard Please take a look at mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=458044

    FLEX Help! OH LORDY, HURRY!

Is it a PPR league? I *REALLY* like Woodhead in PPR leagues with Keenan Allen out, I'm seeing a ton of passes going his way. I think you have to go with him if it's PPR If it's non-PPR, I'd go with Blount. Please take a look at mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=458044
  7. Forsett and Andrews seem like the safe plays being the annointed "workhorse" guys for their respective teams but man Karlos Williams is awful hard to bench. His lowest point total in this league (in a game he played) was week 2 against the Pats with 10 points. Last week he blew up and scored 23. This is the Jets and not the Dolphins but at the same time McCoy is dinged up and while he's almost a guarantee to play, Karlos could see more reps with Shady nursing a shoulder. 1/2 PPR league, what do you guys think?
  8. My RBs have been a mess all year to begin with and now with Justin Forsett on Bye I need to come up with 2 backs out of that mess in the title. I figure with Antonio Andrews being dubbed the workhorse in Tennessee he's the must play of the bunch but who's 2nd? It's a 1/2 PPR league AAndrews @NO PThomas Vs ATL KWilliams Vs MIA

    Cam or Luck? (WHIR)

Through a stroke of idiocy by someone else in the league I ended up with both Newton and Luck on my squad (guy dropped Cam after one game.) I've been bouncing back and forth on who to start all week. What do you guys think? They're playing each other, Indy obviously has the weaker defense but Andrew Luck has been on fire the past two weeks (granted, against 2 fairly weak pass defenses)
  10. Injuries. Injuries galore. Just when my backfield was starting to stabilize after a really rocky start, suddenly every-damn-body is hurt. I've got Karlos Williams out - and with Shady possibly back this week who knows how reliable he'll be once back - Justin Forsett and Isaiah Crowell who are both looking like gametime decisions and after that... yikes. Ameer Abdullah who is pretty much guaranteed to be terrible if I play him (32 points in 3 games on my bench, 0.5 and then -0.5 in the two I've played him) and Antonio Andrews (TEN) who I just picked up because seriously that was the best option in free agency, WTF? Free agents are a mish-mash of awful. Gerhart and Denard Robinson are both out there, one of them could be ok if Yeldon doesn't play. Chris Thompson is out there but New York is a scary match-up and it's a 1/2 PPR league which hurts his value a bit. De'Anthony Thomas (KC) is out there as a mega-wild card option... What a mess. I need another Week 3, 60+ combined point week out of Cobb and Allen... help???? 1/2 PPR, the rest of the scoring is pretty standard.

    J Hill, Woodhead, K Williams....who sits

I think Karlos Williams is a borderline must-play this week. Wil no Shady, he's going to get the lion's share of the carries and Rex's general strategy this season is to jump out to a quick lead and then pound the rock for 3 quarters. Going by yards allows the Giants actually have a really good run defense but looking at fantasy numbers they've allowed 25, 24, and 19 points in their first 3 games (in my league which is also a 1/2 PPR league). For your second - I'm with the gurus on this one, stick with Hill.

Pick 3 receivers and a RB

Megatron is the easy choice at WR. I'd slide Harvin in as well. Sammy won't be playing and Harvin was putting up good numbers with Watkins on the field. I think Harvin is a safe bet for 60 to 100 yards and probably a TD. I lean towards Olsen for your 3rd, both have difficult match-ups but Olsen has the better QB throwing to him and less other options in the offense. On the RB front, I think Abudullah is your best play. He's got a tough matchup but he did well against a similarly tough defense in Denver.
  13. Pretty standard PPR scoring but receptions are 0.5 points instead of 1. With Shady McCoy unlikely to play due to his hammy I'm thinking Williams is the play here but I'd like some other opinions. Also, assuming Luck plays, Andrew Luck againts Jacksonville or Cam Newton @ Tampa? (yes I have Luck and Newton, Cam's owner for some batcrap insane reason decided to cut him after week one and I won the waiver wire stampede.) Thanks in advance for your help. Post a link to yours and I'll gladly reply.

    WSIS - Need 1 RB & 1 Flex

Fairly standard PPR scoring except receptions are half a point instead of a full point. Nothing else out of the ordinary about the rules. My RB1 and WRs are pretty set but I need to come up with an RB2 and a FLEX out of the following: AAbdullah @SD ICrowell @NYJ TColeman Vs PHI DSproles @ATL JMatthews @ATL ARobinson Vs CAR KWright @TB TEifert @OAK Link to yours and I'd be happy to take a look.

Rate My Team/Who Should I Drop

12-team semi-standard PPR - the only deviation is that receptions are worth half a point instead of one. We start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX(RB/WR/TE), PK, DEF Word of Jordy Nelson's ACL broke in the final round our draft, I'd been waiting til the final round to take my kicker as I always do. I decided to take a flyer on Reggie Wayne on the chance Green Bay might sign him as a replacement for Nelson. Now that he's signed with New England I wonder if he may still be worth keeping given past performances of other "Senior Tour" players on the Pats. Anyway, here's my squad, tell me what you think and which player you would suggest I drop come week one for a kicker: QB - ALuck, TBridgewater RB - AAbdullah, JForsett, ICrowell, TColeman, DSproles WR - RCobb, KAllen, JMatthews, ARobinson, KWright, RWayne TE - ODaniels, TEifert DEF - Eagles Post a link to your own and I'll gladly comment. Thanks in advance!
  17. Thanks for responding to mine. For the first pick, I think you really have to go with Julius Thomas. Yes, he's coming off of an injury and the cold weather might cause some issues but I think this is a perfect scenario for him to have another big game. Tennessee's corners have been playing outstanding football this season which will help funnel a lot of balls in the direction of Thomas and the running backs. Second one is not quite so easy. Danny Woodhead saved my season as a capable RB2 when Doug Martin when down but he's been terribly inconsistent lately. That said, the Giants are giving up 5+ catches per game to RBs and he's one of the best pass-catching RBs in the league, if not the best period. I'd go with Woodhead and hope for a 7 or 8 catch performance.
  18. Romo has been a beast for me but has also been a major disappointment these last few weeks and now we're in December which means it's about time for his yearly epic collapse plus Chicago's D is always scary. Flacco has been meh all year and will be playing in the snow but he is up against the 30th ranked pass defense in the league in Minnesota. It's the playoffs and every time I think I made my choice, I start talking myself out of it. Help me out Geeks!!!
  19. I'm the #3 team in the league in a big showdown with the #2 team so of course the heart and soul of my team, Reggie Bush, is on Bye. It's still winnable, though, because his top player is Calvin Johnson. We both have deep rosters so it's going to come down to who makes the right Bye Week fill ins. My life would be much easier is Cecil Shorts wasn't also on Bye. So, I'm left with the choice of Brandon Bolden Vs PIT or Jeremy Kerley Vs NO, which one should I go with? Or should I play both and relegate Stevie Johnson to my bench now that it's been confirmed that Jeff Tuel will be starting for Buffalo?
  20. Man, two weeks ago I was sitting pretty. 4-1, starting line-up stocked with studs, stupidly deep bench, and the championship was in my crosshairs. Then in the course of two weeks I go 1-1 (and barely got the win against I team I should have smashed), and, oh by the way, I lose Randall Cobb, Reggie Wayne, and Doug Martin for the rest of the season. Now I have to manage that bench - with the help of some scraps off the free agent list - into the playoffs somehow if I want a crack at the title. Standard PPR I need 2 RB, 2 WR, and a FLEX out of the following (current starters denoted with a *) *Reggie Bush (Vs DAL) * Joique Bell (Vs DAL) Pierre Thomas (Vs BUF) Brandon Boldin (Vs MIA) (Also have Danny Woodhead but that doesn't help this week) *Jordy Nelson @MIN *Cecil Shorts (Vs SF) *Stevie Johnson (@NO) Jeremy Kerley (@CIN) I'm really starting to lean toward Pierre Thomas but who do I take out? Joique hasn't been that great when Bush plays but he is playing Dallas... Stevie Johnson is unreliable and losing ground to Robert Woods but still the most polished Bills receiver and quite capable of abusing an opposing DB in the right matchup. Should I avoid the SF matchup with Shorts? What does everyone think? Post a link and I'll look at yours.
  21. Two weeks ago I was #1 in the league and looking like the odds-on favorite to win it all. I was sitting pretty with a team of juggernauts led by Randall Cobb, Reggie Wayne, and Doug Martin. I'm not totally dead in the water but my elite line-up of Romo - Bush - Martin - Cobb - Wayne - JNelson looks a lot less elite now that it's Romo - Bush - Woodhead (JBell?) - JNelson - CShorts - SJohnson. God I'm so screwed. I've got waiver bids in for Mike James and Jeremy Kerley who are the cream of the FA crop...
  22. I want to get some more opinions on this from the FFToday community. I'm seriously fuming right now. Am I overreacting? Here's the situation. I'm 4-1 and have a sickening amount of depth on my team, there are a bunch of guys sitting on my bench every week who could easily be starting on other teams in the league. TIME FOR A TRADE! The guy with Peyton Manning in our league has practically nothing else. His team is 1-4, his RBs are a mess and his WRs aren't much better. We spent two days negotiating a trade and came to an agreement. I offered the trade and he accepted it. It was vetoed today. Here's the kicker though - everyone in the league AGREED that it was a perfectly fair trade. I gave up Romo, Jordy Nelson, and Danny Woodhead. I got Peyton Manning and Dewayne Bowe. All 3 guys would be clear starters on his team and obviously would have scored more points between the three than Manning is going to score himself. Difference is they will actually PLAY on his team while they were wasting away on my bench. It's a work league and rumblings started popping up at work today about vetoing the trade. When I asked them if it was a fair trade for both parties involved they all agreed it was and that, overall, the other team probably benefited even more than I did. The follow up question was, of course, then why veto a trade you have just said is totally fair? Their answer was, basically, "because your team is good so you can't have Peyton Manning." In effect "you did a great job drafting and you're a serious contender so you are not allowed to use your depth to improve your team." I think it's a load of crap. Why should I be punished for having a good team? More so, why should the other guy - who was totally amped up about possibly being able to get back in the running - be punished because the rest of the owners don't want me to have Peyton Manning. What do you guys think? Am I overreacting here? Or are these guys a bunch of cry babies?

Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

I may not have been given a choice. I got an owner who hasn't paid yet and feels as though he's been robbed of his best chance to turn his team around. He never said he was not going to pay his money but I wouldn't blame him if he did refuse to pay and judging by 87% of the people who've responded to this thread/poll, he'd be justified in doing so. If it was me and another guy in the playoff hunt I wouldn't be so inclined to start refunding money. That's not the case. I got screwed, the other owner got screwed 10 times worse and through absolutely no fault of his own but simply because a group of guys decided they don't think I should have Peyton Manning regardless of whether it's a fair trade or not. As I said earlier in the thread, I'm willing to suck it up and move on. I could still win the league and I'm still one of the favorites to do so even without the trade. At the end of the day I may end up COSTING myself $400 with this decision. The same can't be said for the other person involved. His season's done. There was a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel but some jealous owners snuffed it out.

Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

Well I don't know what kind of scoring your league has (non-PPR?) but I just checked the season totals in this league and it's not even close: Manning - 156.86 Romo, Nelson, Woodhead - 268.12 That's an extra 100 points, an average of 20 points per game. Add that extra 111.25 points to his current total and he vaults from the second lowest scoring team in the league to the 5th highest and instead of having almost 50 more points against than for, he's got 695.11 points for vs 627.82 against. Even if you add Bowe's numbers into the mix - though Bowe's been benched in recent weeks in favor of Terrance Williams - you're STILL talking a 50 point increase over his current production.

Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

LOL, I guess it depends on your viewpoint of the situation. I'm a floor manager at a collection agency so yeah take that for what you will. They're good guys though, a lot of them are people I consider to be good friends not just coworkers and most of them have plenty of prior fantasy football experience so I would expect them to have more integrity, especially with money on the line. I was laughing it all off when we were all talking about it at work today. I seriously thought it was all a joke in good fun. I didn't for one second believe any of them were serious. When I went to the site to check for injury updates and saw it was actually vetoed I couldn't believe it. When I contacted the other owner involved he was, understandably, probably even more pissed than I am. He's someone who hasn't paid yet and while he never said anything about quitting or refusing to pay, I'm not even going to put him in that position because, quite frankly, if I was in his place I probably wouldn't pay.
