Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

Same here. That's why I didn't think twice about allowing league votes. In over a decade I've never seen veto power abused like this and I've played in all manner of leagues from family to work to hardcore pro leagues all the way down to lulz-tastic Yahoo free leagues. Like I said, lesson learned, there will never again be league voted vetos in a league I join. Either it's commish-only or I'm not interested.

Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

I won't quit but I'm converting it to a free league and giving everyone's money back. I'm not gonna ask the other guy to pay up when his best shot at turning his season around just got shot down simply because a group of guys decided they don't want me to have Peyton Manning. I could still win the league with my team, he has no shot at all now. It was unlikely he would've won anything even with the trade but he might've managed to sneak into the playoffs and at least got some of his money back. I'm definitely done with work leagues. The reason this league exists is because of some shady nonsense that went down in another work league. The commish suddenly changed the playoffs from 4 teams to 6 about 3 weeks before the playoffs. The #6 team in the league? His, of course. A bunch of us splintered off and created our own league. Now this. No more work leagues for me. I'll stick to my family league and online leagues with guys who actually know what the hell they're doing and won't cheat to win.

When his only other option for his RB2 is Jason Snelling or LaGarrette Blount? Woodhead's the clear starter in this scenario.

Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

Blame it on inexperience as a commish. This is my first time running a league though I've been playing for about 15 years. I've been in plenty of leagues with league voted vetoes and in all those years I've never actually seen something like this happen. When I was setting up the rules I saw the league veto and figured "yeah, seems fair" and just moved along. Lesson learned.

Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

His running backs were Trent Richardson, Shane Vereen, and Andre Brown (draft was 1 week before Brown got hurt) and his wide recievers are/were Andre Johnson, Dewayne Bowe, and Tavon Austin. Peyton Manning is literally the only thing he has left at this point.

Vetoing A Trade Because You're Jealous...

Yeah, I work with all of them. Yes, it is a money league. Not a monster one but decent money - $75 per team. I'm the commish and right now I'm seriously considering just giving everyone their money back and saying the money part is cancelled because of this BS. Can still play for free if they want but I'm not putting my money on the line in this nonsense. Editted: Sorry, was thinking about my other league, this is the $75 one, not the $100 one.
  7. OK, this is a bit of a follow up on a post I made last night. I had a glut of solid WRs and RBs on my bench, all of whom could be starting for the owner of Peyton Manning who was/is starved for HBs and not a whole lot better at WR. I decided to strike while the Pierre Thomas iron was hot to make something happen. We talked all day whenever we had a chance and we have a deal. Standard PPR scoring. Here are the pre-trade teams: MY TEAM QB - TRomo, BHoyer RB - RBush, DMartin, JBell, DWoodhead, PThomas WR - RWayne, RCobb, JNelson, CShorts, SJohnson TE - JCook PK - DBailey DEF - Cincinatti HIS TEAM QB - PManning, RG3 RB - TRichardson, LBlount, JSnelling (Told you it was bad, poor bastard drafted Andre Brown before he got hurt in the preseason AND had Shane Vereen) WR - AJohnson, DBowe, TAustin, TWilliams, KAllen TE - CClay, LKendricks PK - SGostkowski DEF - Minnesota, New England The trade: I GIVE UP: Tony Romo, Jordy Nelson, Pierre Thomas I GET: Peyton Manning, Dewayne Bowe, Tavon Austin Going by the response to my "what should I offer" I won the trade in a big way. Yahoo's automated Trade Analyzer (I know, lulz but I couldn't resist hitting the button) I got hosed. I think it's pretty even, I got a massive upgrade (especially in terms of consistency) at arguably my weakest position and he got 3 guys that are almost certainly going to start on his team every week going forward. What say you FF Geeks? Leave a link to yours and I'll take a look.
  8. I would go Keenan Allen and FredEx. Not a big fan of FredEx against that defense with an atrocious QB situation this week but under that scoring, I kinda like him. I could see him nabbing both of those bonuses and having a solid outing for you.

    Damaryius Thomas for Reggie Bush?

Tough call. I'm a Reggie Bush owner too but I made sure I bought the Joique Bell insurance rider for him on draft day. His injury situation is scary and I really like Thomas but I think it's a very large dropoff from Bush to Steven Jackson (I don't trust Woodhead, I can't see him maintaining this production as purely a pass-catching RB) If EJ Manuel and Stevie were both healthy I would say no because, IMO, Bush > Jackson is a bigger drop off than Thomas > (healthy) Johnson even with Robert Woods stealing some of his thunder. With no EJ and Stevie hobbled combined with Cam Newton's horribly inconsistent play... I'd take it. Simpson, Smith, and Johnson all fall into that realm of talented guys but who the hell know what you're going to get out of their QBs. That makes Thomas a more valuable asset to your team than Bush. 10. Like the other guy, I'm playing the matchup game here. Cleveland has been surprisingly stingy lately. Go with Brady against New Orleans. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=425602

Lost Julio - Which WR to start this week

Long term I think Zac Stacy is your guy but against Houston's D? Not so much. Bilal Powell sucks to begin with and is sharing carries. Me and Dewayne Bowe aren't on speaking terms right now. I actually benched him in favor of Nate Washington who also isn't a fantastic option so long as he's trying to catch Fitzpatrick's wild and unpredictable passes but I think he's the best of the four. Nicks or Chris Johnson at flex?

I don't like anyone not named Victor Cruz on the Giants offense right now. That said, CJ(maybe)1K against Seattle's D with Ryan Fitzpatrick providing the only passing "threat"? Yeah, start Nicks. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=425602

Cobb, Jeffrey, F. Jackson, CJ Spiller - PICK TWO

As a Bills fan, Cobb and Jeffrey. Buffalo is starting freaking Thad Lewis at QB. Forget 8 in the box, Cincy may just decide to put all 11 in the box. I love Freddy and CJ and I'm pretty certain Buffalo will try like hell to run the ball all game but with zero threat of a passing attack I just can't see it working out very well against a stingy Bengals defense. Pick 1 WR. WHIR

Cobb all day. Amendola's coming off an injury (and wouldn't surprise anyone if he was injured again before the game is over) and Brown is going to either get you 4 for 120 and a TD or 2 for 15 yards. Cobb is a pretty safe lock for 4-5 catches and 50+ yards and could just as easily as Brown go over 100 with multiple TDs Take a look at mine, please: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=425602

    Welker or Marshall?

PPR league? PPR league I say keep Welker. The TDs will slow down eventually but Welker has been a PPR machine for the better part of a decade and Manning already has a high level of trust with him so I don't see his number of targets declining one bit. Non-PPR go with Marshall. He is more of a big play threat and definitely the best red zone target among Chicago's WRs. Thanks for answering mine.
  16. OK, so I am actively trying to sell high on Pierre Thomas because I don't need him and his value will probably never be higher. It just so happens that the most RB-needy team has the most coveted player in all of Fantasy Football this season. Now I'm wondering if I can parlay big weeks out of Pierre and Tony Romo into nabbing Peyton Manning. I've built a solid team through drafting and trades and landing Peyton would really put me over the top. Here are the two teams: MY TEAM QB - TRomo, BHoyer RB - RBush, DMartin, JBell, DWoodhead, PThomas WR - RWayne, RCobb, JNelson, CShorts, SJohnson TE - JCook PK - DBailey DEF - Cincinatti HIS TEAM QB - PManning, RG3 RB - TRichardson, LBlount, JSnelling (Told you it was bad, poor bastard drafted Andre Brown before he got hurt in the preseason AND had Shane Vereen) WR - AJohnson, DBowe, TAustin, TWilliams, KAllen TE - CClay, LKendricks PK - SGostkowski DEF - Minnesota, New England So do you guys see any way to make it work? Do you think there's any chance he'll go for Thomas and Romo for Manning? See any other options?

Was offered this, but countering with this..

Yeah, his first offer was terrible. Your counter is much better. I still think he is getting the better end of the deal on a straight player-for-player basis but in the scope of your team, I believe it to be a trade worth making. As you said, you're stacked at RB and your WRs leave a lot to be desired. Jordy is an immediate upgrade at WR. You're taking a downgrade at RB from Bush to Martin but one worth taking, in my opinion, to upgrade your WRs. Plus, if Martin ends up bouncing back then he could end the season with better numbers than Bush. He started really slow last year too so who knows...
  18. This actually a two part question, I need a little help at RB and WR. Pretty standard PPR scoring with big game bonuses (1pt at 100, 2 at 150, 2 at 200 - cumulative so a 200 yard game earns a 5 point bonus total). I need 5 players total, 2 WR, 2RB, 1 FLEX, stars denote the guys I'm currently leaning toward playing: *RBush @GB *JBell @GB DWoodhead @OAK PThomas @CHI *RCobb Vs DET *JNelson Vs DET *RWayne Vs SEA SJohnson @CLE CShorts @StL Stevie Johnson is probably the smarter play than Wayne against Sherman but Stevie burned me hard last week, talk me off the cliff there... Woodhead exploded last week (on my bench while Mr. Why So Serious racked up 0.9 in my FLEX spot... grrr) but can he keep it up against Oakland? I was surprised to find that Oakland has given up the 5th fewest points in the league against RBs this year. Oh and for those who are curious how I ended up with Cobb AND Nelson, Nelson's owner was RB starved so I sent D-Rich and Jerome Simpson over for Nelson and Woodhead a couple weeks ago. Post a link to yours and I'll take a look.

    What to do with SPILLER?

Spiller will get his, relax. If it was a more even WR swap I would say go for it but Cobb's best single game so far is equal to Smith's production for the whole year so you are CLEARLY losing out there. I've watched every Bills game, here's the deal with Spiller - teams are Fing terrified of him. Spiller benefited greatly last year from the fact that SO MANY people were scared of Fred Jackson. This year, Fred is benefiting from the fact that teams are scared of Spiller. They stack the box against Spiller and ease off against Fred. Teams are so scared of Spiller out of the backfield that I've seen him draw double coverage in the flats. I don't know if I've ever seen that before - maybe against Faulk? Here's why you shouldn't panic though - by focusing so hard on Spiller, teams are leaving opportunities ALL OVER the field. EJ isn't capitalizing on all of them but he's making them pay for more of them every week. The same goes for the coaching staff. Marone is very smart and he's starting to use defensive coordinator's fear of Spiller against them. Robert Woods caught a 42-yard touchdown because of it last week and Lee Smith would have had a 20-ish yard TD for the same reason if he didn't slip and fall. The point is, teams are not going to be able to keep selling out against CJ Spiller because Marone and Manuel are starting to make them pay for it. Just give him time, he will bounce back and by mid-season he'll be the consistent RB1 he's supposed to be. Take a look at mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=424882

Bush Out - Who Is My Replacement?

OK, so this matchup was so juicy I actually had both Bush AND Joique Bell in my lineup. Now that Reggie is officially out, I need to decide who slides into my FLEX position. I have good options from a talent standpoint but lots of ugly match-ups. Stevie Johnson @NYJ (leaning toward Stevie mainly because I got burned bad for not playing him last week and he always seems to show up against the Jets) Cecil Shorts @SEA Daryl Richardson @DAL Pierre Thomas Vs ARI Jerome Simpson Vs CLE Post a link and I'll respond to yours.

    Flex Pick 2 WHIR

James Starks is a no brainer with Lacy not playing. Cecil Shorts is the most talented of your options but not against that secondary. Go with Reuben Randle, Carolina's secondary is a mess.

    Joique or R Mathews?

Bush is out and that makes this super easy - Bell all the way. Check out mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=424046

RB + Flex Help! So many choices

Bell is a must-start for all owners this week now that Reggie Bush is officially not playing. I would go Sproles & Moreno as well for your other two. Take a look at mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=424046
  24. Short and sweet: Standard Yahoo (Non-PPR) Scoring. I've got T-Rich @BAL, Lynch Vs SF, or DeAngelo Williams @BUF and I can only start 2. Lynch was terrible last week and facing an even more formidable run defense this week. After the head-scratcher last week, Richardson seems like a shoe-in to get 30+ touches this week and DeAngelo is playing a Buffalo defense that hasn't been able to stop the run since Doug Flutie was the starting quarterback. Post a link to yours and I'll take a look.

    Conflicted

I feel thye need to preface this by saying I do not like Cutler and never have. I think he's the most overrated QB in the league and has been for a while. With that said, RG3 got off to a slow start and looked very rusty at the start of last weeks game but he definitely started to get his feet under him again in the 2nd half. Green Bay's secondary is sketchy at best and they got absolutely lit up by a guy with almost identical skills to RG3 a week ago. Start RG3 and don't look back. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=423313
