    Denario Alexander

I am a huge Mizzou fan as well as St. Louis Rams fan. In 2007, Alexander beat Jeremy Maclin out for a starting spot, only to get hurt. This kid has incredible talent. He's big, fast, and can jump. He would have easily been the first or second WR off the board if he did not get hurt. The big problem with him is he has had 4 knee surgeries. He is obviously an injury concern, but if he wasn't healthy enough to play the game he wouldn't be out on the field making plays. He is definitely worth an add in standard 12 team leagues. If he can stay healthy he could put up decent numbers this year, and monster numbers in the future.

    danny woodhead

Had him on my bench the past week, and he's scored over 10 points in non ppr the past 3 weeks. Plan on starting him this week at WR3 over TO and Tampa Mike. His WR/RB listing makes him extremely versatile and he is an ideal guy to keep on your bench as a bye week filler. Not sure what he'll do when Fred Taylor comes back, but if he keeps production up I don't see why Bellicheck would stop using him. PATSOX, if you're reading this, I'd love to get your input.

Survivor Week 5: Who have you/are you taking?

Used TEN, GB, NE, SD Taking NO this week. Arizona looks terrible and there are only 2 other times I would take them this year, and in both those weeks there are suitable options.

    LT!

9 carries for 56 yards in the second quarter is done?

    Week 4 Defenses.

Grabbed ATL in my league and plan on keeping them around for a while. Defense has looked good and they have a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way.

Is Kevin Smith on the Rise?

Meh. Players after major knee surgery rarely come back as good as they once were. Kevin Smith was never anything special anyway, and he's only 9 months removed from surgery. I just don't see him doing much. If he comes back his situation won't stay the same as last year.. He'll more than likely split some time because of the knee. Kevin Smith was not good last year because of talent. It was strictly opportunity. His skill and opportunity are both less right now than they were last year.

    Survivor Pool - Week 4

I did not see a thread on this yet, so sorry if there's one a page or two back. The games this week are: 10/3 1:00 ET At Tennessee -6.5 Denver 10/3 1:00 ET At Pittsburgh -1.5 Baltimore 10/3 1:00 ET Cincinnati -3 At Cleveland 10/3 1:00 ET At Green Bay -14.5 Detroit 10/3 1:00 ET At New Orleans -13.5 Carolina 10/3 1:00 ET At Atlanta -7 San Francisco 10/3 1:00 ET Seattle -1 At St. Louis 10/3 1:00 ET NY Jets -5.5 At Buffalo 10/3 4:05 ET Indianapolis -7 At Jacksonville 10/3 4:05 ET Houston -3 At Oakland 10/3 4:15 ET At San Diego -8.5 Arizona 10/3 4:15 ET At Philadelphia -6 Washington 10/3 8:20 ET At NY Giants -4 Chicago Monday Night Football Point Spread 10/4 8:35 ET New England -1 At Miami Bolded games are the ones I'm looking at.. Really like Houston for some reason. Hate to take a road team but it's non divisional. Something about the ATL-SF game scares me. San Diego has yet to look like a complete team. And NO has some good matchups later. And all I can think about is last year when Carolina jumped out to a 14 point lead to start the game. What do you all think?

Is Kevin Smith on the Rise?

Even if Best misses more than one game, and Smith is fully healed, there has to be a better option on your WW than Smith. Someone like Torain, Blount, BJGE, even a true handcuff like Scott or Ringer. No back has any FF significance in that backfield besides Best.

    foster or jamal charles

I own Charles and defended him all preseason and believe he will be a top 12 fantasy back this year. That said, Foster has a shot at the top 5. Gotta keep Foster on this one.

    Jahvid Best is fools gold

Just my personal opinion after watching both backs. Not saying I'm more qualified than an NFL scout to evaluate talent. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree here. Honestly I hope Spiller has a long career, he's fun to watch. Good luck this season

    Jahvid Best is fools gold

I disagree with the bolded. CJ Spiller's official time at the combine was 4.38; Johnson's was 4.24. For a comparison, that is the difference between Spiller and Hardesty. Also, Best ran a 4.35. Spiller's power (or lack of) is not even close to Chris Johnson. Watch the two backs run. College highlights are not always the best way to evaluate players. The college game is much different than the NFL game; just ask Ryan Leaf or Reggie Bush. I think Jahvid Best is better than Spiller. Not by a large margin, but better. Marshawn Lynch is not wanted in Buffalo and does not want to be there himself, but he is a great back that is still young and it wasn't too long ago that he was a Pro Bowler. I might have been stretching it a bit saying LT is better than Spiller, but the point is that CJ is just not a complete NFL running back right now. As I said earlier, I see him in a Felix Jones role in a few years and will be surprised if he is ever a feature back.

    Jahvid Best is fools gold

I thought you were being serious until I saw this. First of all, CJ Spiller is less talented than Best. In fact, I can name 15 backs right now more talented than Spiller. ADP, CJ, MJD, Ray Rice, Gore, Best, Michael Turner, Marshawn Lynch, Ladanian Tomlinson, Shonn Greene, Jamaal Charles, Deangelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Steven Jackson, Beanie Wells. I bolded the ones you may not agree with. Spiller is not only not the best RB in his draft class, he isn't even the best on his own team. Is he a great talent? Yes. But not necessarily as a RB. CJ is a great returner, but does not run well inside. I have not seen his pass protection skills, but would imagine they are sub-par to average. This guy is not Chris Johnson or Jamaal Charles; he is Leon Washington or Reggie Bush. He will probably have a decent career, and see his long-term (2 or 3 years) ceiling as something like Felix Jones right now. And FWIW, I just traded Best in my main league. http://draftboardinsider.com/cgi-bin/prospect.cgi?id=526 Edit: you said Best has Kevin Smith to 'spell' him. I personally think that is a great thing for Best. But to use that against Best when Spiller has Lynch and Jackson in the backfield does not make sense to me.

Work your magic, how do I improve my depth

I would drop Jackson for Hester and Sproles for BJGE. Sproles does not even have handcuff value with Tolbert now in the mix. Vincent Jackson is prepared to sit all season, and Hester has some upside. I just don't see Jackson signing this season.

    Best for Ray Rice?

After a ton of negotiation, an owner offered me Ray Rice and TO for Jahvid Best and Malcolm Floyd. My roster: Vick Best Charles Dwill/Hillis Moss Boldin Floyd/Mike Wallace Jermichael Finley Bench: Henne Tolbert (SEA) Mike Williams Shonn Greene Aaron Hernandez League is standard scoring, non PPR
