The only reason you've gone on so long with this is that you feel you have to justify the action. If you need to justify it so badly......you know it's sketchy.

Yet it's happening in pro & college sports......it's in the rules.....and by your thought process......it's ok. Rules don't make make it right if used out of context.

Because it goes against the intent of sportsmanship. It's one thing to have an empty spot because you don't want to drop a player you want to keep & don't have bench space for a pick-up.....to intentionally leave a spot open to avoid negative points when you have a player to fill that position, is, in my opinion, poor sportsmanship. The league rule isn't there for that intent....to use it that way is douchey.
