It's a great platform for hunting.....depending on what you are hunting. I wouldn't hunt deer with one, I prefer a larger caliber like a 30.06, 308 or 300 savage. It's great for hogs, coyotes & a lot of other game. They aren't fully automatic.....just semi-automatic like a BOATLOAD of other types of rifles. The biggest knock is they look SCARY to a lot of people. I could take a ruger 10-22...arguably the most popular. 22 ever produced & dress it up to look all military. Haters would pick it out of a lineup in seconds as an assault weapon.
