OK good, and they don't want to compete in the "open" category, because that would be pandering and they want to be treated like women. Normal people: The dude wanted to be a woman because he felt like he was a woman. Geek Club: The dude was a loser and a bad athlete, so he became a woman to excel at sports. If the Geek Club is correct, I don't think you'll ever get any trans person to admit that. So it's all speculation.

You're making the point that the reason they compete with the women is because they have the advantage. I'm not arguing that they don't have an advantage, the clearly do. I just don't buy the argument that they will only compete with other women because that's where they have advantage. Your other argument, and buck's argument make more sense, that they want to be called women and competing in this "other" category diminishes them as women.

OK, this makes sense, I can see this being the case, and it jives with what Lia Thomas has said as well. For the record I'm not down with this, there should be some sort of rules in place to prevent "dudes" from excelling in women's sports. I don't know what the rules are, but I think we'd all agree that who cares if some little femboy decides to run girls track in HS and finish in the middle of the pack, vs the dude that benches 200 and runs a sub 5:00 mile that throws on a wig to get to the girls state championship.
