The tax cut added to the debt, and then he spent trillions more during COVID when the economy crashed. There is also analysis that his tariffs added to inflation in 2019 and cost manufacturing jobs. Was it a disaster? No, given that the economy was good. Now the economy is more tenuous, and those same policies would be bad. We need to fight inflation and reduce the deficit now, and trump would increase both.
