That is part of that but I have become more liberal as well. For example there are things that I believes in for years that I discovered I was wrong about. Example: trickle down economics. I always bought the theory but after 50 years of data, it just doesn't work. Where Republicans lost me: I have been and continue to be fiscally responsible. W Bush blew that and proved that Republicans don't care about it anymore. I also supported the war on terror. I'm more in the middle on this one after seeing what has become of the middle east after we declared war on it. And then maga. Maga was the final nail in the coffin. Life long tenants of the right have been shattered. Personal responsibility, decency, accountability, family values, patriotism, all abandoned by the maga movement. I've always believed in fairness, limited government in private lives, respect for all, and these values more align with the left these days than the right.
