    Is Tyrell Williams even playing?

0 targets? Is he a decoy or is he on the bench??

    FU Thread--Week 13 edition

Looks like a big FOCK YOU going out to Tyrell "I feel 100%" Williams. Thanks. Playoffs on the line. Keep up the good work.

Yahoo - Waivers Didn't Go Through

BUMP. Still waiting for our waivers to go through. Users are able to grab free agents that do not have waiver claims against them. I sent a support request to Yahoo using their online form but did not receive an email notification that they received my request. Matt Mueller - you said "pickups should be on roster by Friday" where did you see this?

    Fragile Felix

Hopefully they'll get him some Vagisil so that he can start the next game (and not finish).
  7. What's the typical length of time away for this type of injury?
  8. Like that they need to get the ball into the hands of their most talented player? Will MJD continue to be an important part of the passing game if he's not having success running the ball or are they going to go back to their offensive offense now that Garard is back under center? I've stuck with MJD so far this year but it's only paid off twice.
  9. QB woes, offensive woes, injury woes... not the year I'd hoped for even as a reserve. Thinking about dropping him and picking up Brandon Tate now that Moss has left New England.

Who is cutting bait on Steve Smith (CAR)?

Thanks for the heads up!!! He's been stashed on the bench all year, not really hurting on byes or anything. Well worth waiting a couple to see how that pans out.

    First time Commish here

Comes with the territory. As long as all rules are posted - including The Constitution, then it's just something you have to deal with as Commish. There are -=ALWAYS=- whiners and malcontents in every league. One thing I did though was at the end of the year I gave out trophies. One trophy was a box of Preparation H with the label to "player X - biggest pain in the A$$ for the year"

Ok, is this crazy for week one

I can't believe I'm typing this. I'm wondering if someone slipped something in my beer when I wasn't looking. But call me crazy as well. I had the same feelings about Flacco going up against the Jets and I picked up Anderson from waivers (naturally he was available). The Rams defense is not good. They were well toward the bottom of the league in interceptions and against the pass. Granted, Anderson was GODAWFUL last year with the Browns but don't forget all the dropped passes. There were quite a few in that 2-17 game that was mentioned. But the risk/reward is worth it. The chance that Flacco puts up REALLY GOOD numbers against the Jets? Well, pretty slim. He will probably have a very mediocre game. Anderson could also have a mediocre game but there is a chance that he could put up some decent numbers. He will definitely chuck the ball and if it's anywhere near Fitzgerald he is one of the best at bringing it in and taking it home. My only other option is Ben Rohipnol Roethlisberger - obviously not an option. So I'm rolling the dice.
  13. I was able to draft MJD, Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson as my first three picks drafting 5th in a 10 person standard scoring league! It's gonna be a good year.

Why you should consider waiting on a QB

This is great info but one thing to consider is WHEN did those top QBs get drafted? There are always good sleepers to be had LATE. I drafted Shaub last year fairly late... got Cutler the year before fairly late and Romo the year before that fairly late. If you gamble and win then the payoff is huge. But if you gamble on a Jamarcus Russell... well.. well, surely no one actually drafted Jamarcus Russell. But yes, having a top QB on your roster is a wonderful thing. But it sometimes comes at a price.

    Favorable QB matchups week 1?

If you're one of those that's been drinking the Mike Martz / Jay Cutler Kook Aid then week 1 is your week going against Detroit. But I'd suggest trading him after a nice week 1. Look at Mike Martz's track record in the last several years and don't listen to the hype. With Mike Tice coming in to help the line and Forte and Chester Taylor this could have been a good ground and pound offense. But this year is sure to get Lovey fired. IMHO.

In today's QB happy drafting craze....

No worries, that post looks to have been from a LAWYER. Lawyers. I'm used to worthless smelly deposits like the one from the LAWYER because I have two large lab dogs. Let's hope I don't get a banker and a thief to slam me as well then I'd get the P.O.S hat trick. Seriously, this post was SUPPOSED to have been a statement about how QBs are going so high this year. Even in standard scoring leagues everyone seems overly preoccupied with QBs. Granted, they do score the most points but the depth of elite RBs and WRs really is no there. Especially with the RBBC, that used to only be a Shannahan thing, it is ESPECIALLY important to draft for VALUE. Anyway, I'm done with this post. I'm sure there will be a super smart rebuttal from one of them there soupy eerior smart lawyer folk but I'm just a beer swillin biker trash ridin Low life and I've spoken my piece and counted to three. Keep up the good work, and good luck everbody.

In today's QB happy drafting craze....

No, standard scoring. The other league I'm in (12 person league) drafted the same way. QBs starting flying off the board in the first round. I have Mendenhall,Roddy White and Calvin Johnson in that one. Crazy!

    No Honor in FF?

I'm a long time commish. I've won several championships but usually end up spending more than I win by hosting parties and buying trophies. I do it for fun. I bought one of those big draft board posters (out of my own pocket) with the stickers for our draft. I drafted Zach Miller, Oakland's tight end in the 8th round. Nobody said anything, everybody crossed him off their lists. Midway through the 14th and last round the chick who was sitting beside the stickers noticed that Zach Miller from Oakland was still in the set. I had grabbed some shlub Tight End named Zach Miller from Jacksonville who will probably never see the field. She grabbed up Oakland's Zach Miller, stuck it up there, there was a few comments but they continued on with the draft. Since it was the last round and I made my pick I had stepped away and hit the bar to order a cold one. When I got back they had already moved on with the next picks. Everyone knew @#!$ well who I was drafting when I chose Zach Miller. No one did the right thing. Looks like it's to the point where you have to have league officials for a friendly game of FF.

    No Honor in FF?

Yeah, dug through the piles of stickers, grabbed Zach Miller from the TE pack. Stickers aren't very big. They are color coordinated for the position with the name in a large font. Everything else is a real small font. Thank goodness there wasn't another WR named Calvin Johnson. Seriously. No one crossed the wrong Zach Miller off their list. This board was supposed to be a visual aid to help the group and to make it a little more fun. It certainly was not meant to screw anyone over. Had I been there and they attempted to do that to someone else I would have nixxed it IMMEDIATELY. Again, this deals with honor and integrity. Like the first reply said - I made my choice. Wont be any boards next year, probably wont be commissioning a league with that group.

    Adrian Peterson

Your butter hands managed to cost me a championship. I lost the Super Bowl by 2 points. Keep up the good work
  21. ChopperTrash

    Last 10 years.

Going for my 3rd title since 2000. I also lost a championship game. I've played with the same group for the past 3 years, and then co-workers from a previous job before that. Got a title from both. We use CBS Sportsline mainly so we can photoshop trash talking headlines and use the live scoring - but now that other leagues are offering free live scoring, I believe I am finished with the huge CBS fees.

    Thank you Reggie Wayne!

I gambled and started Reggie Wayne. I know, it sounds strange to say that but he's been a HUGE disappointment for 5 of the past 6 weeks. But I'm glad I did. I've got a great start to this week's playoff games with 19 points in my league.
  23. ChopperTrash

    Reggie Wayne last 4 weeks....

If you go back a little further he has been bust 4 of the last 5 games. In my league he's put up 4, 24, 8, 7 and 4 points during this stretch. At one point he was unbenchable but this week he's riding the pine. Denver's receiving defense is ranked 2nd giving up an average of 196 points per game. They've given up 10 receiving TDs this year. I'm starting Sims-Walker and either DeSean Jackson or Calvin Johnson over him. These guys have also been gambles lately but they have better matchups against receiving defenses. Of course if this is his week to go off I will be kicking myself.

    WEEK 13 FU's

Only cost me my second loss but I'm still throwing FU's out - especially since it looks like my team is starting to fizzle right around playoff Time: 1. Schaub. I don't care if he did come back and play hurt, I was waiting for an injury to do me in and 12 points isn't going to dominate any game let alone playoff games. That's *IF* he starts the next couple weeks. In fact Michael Maddog Vick outscored both of my QB's this week because the Bengals have decided that they don't need to pass and are running every down and so Palmer stinks. Even against the league's worst pass defense - The Lions. 2. Singletary is an idiot A$$ Clown who thinks he has a daunting, much feared, elite passing attack and has decided to completely abandon the run (coincidentally they have lost most of their games since taking that approach) 3. Reggie Wayne has been outscored by Sam Aiken, Brian Hartline and Kenny Britt for both of the last two weeks. Have you even HEARD of these guys? Wayne's been held to single digits for 4 of the past 5 games 4. Sims-Walker needs to trade the walker in for a Rascal Scooter. Thanks for the 1 point this week you fckStick! 5. Looks like Childress has taken the Singletary approach this year and has decided to just air it out on every play. He's forgotten the fact that he has one of the best RBs in the league but this year he's only topped 20 points twice! Only Bright spots are Vernon Davis and the Jets defense And I'm worried about my bench Had Calvin Johnson who was just getting a good rapport with Stafford - who is now hurt. DeSean Jackson was out with a concussion but it doesn't matter because this could have been the week that McNabb decided to throw to everyone else anyway. I picked up Forsett but there's another Mensa coach - "Oh yeah...Forsett was hot but Julius Jones has been doing so much better, I'll stick with him".

    Carson Palmer

I too was excited about the Cleveland, Detroit matchups. But he really took a dump against Cleveland. Granted, Cleveland always plays Cincy tough - it's always a playoff type atmosphere when they play - but I expected much better. Detroit made Brady Quinn look like a superstud so Palmer should have a better game this week. But I've got Schaub against Jacksonville so I'm going with the safer choice. Good Luck
