To all the Pats haters early in this thread... blow it out your ear! -
2008 NFL Draft Weekend Team Thread: New England Patriots

Love this pick and the trade down. Now I hope move up using those 3rds and grab Phillips from Miami. Or send pick for CB from Philly, name escapes me right now.... -
I've always wanted one. I would welcome just having the access to buy one. I am guessing the time/$ it takes to move from online connection to mail order is the primary concern here. If nobody wants to be responsible fo the hassle then perhaps this would be a good alternative: http://www.cafepress.com/buy/-/c_682/fpt_D..._bR______D/pg_9 I think they take submitted logos and send upon order.

Keeper/Dynasty rankings. Updated early and often. I search for these from January on and would love to see it as a consistant feature, there really aren't many of these out there.

Thoughts on the Main Board this offseason....

Off season here is always good but if guys don't pick their battles it will all start again. Trolls thrive on revenge. It's up to the core to control the masses by controlling themselves. My passion for the Pats extends way beyond any disdain by Newbie, so knowing that he likes being the anti Patriot I chose not to engage. (Newb this is not meant to be a jab or a compliment, we are who we are) P.S. Here's to draft day! Should be very exciting to see where these rookie Rbs go! -
My two RBs ADP and Grant H2H, do I play them both? j/k

This will be my 1st year signed up but I have seen samples. With the possibilities of rookie rbs this year it's a no brainer! -
AD is #1 RB in football. DA, McNabb, Palmer, all top 10 QBs. SSmith top 5 WR. RGrant and EGraham top 10. Winslow #1 TE TJones and Edge James top 20 KSmith ROY hmmm Chad Johnson to Detroit for Roy Williams.

You are crazy if you dont take ADP right now, I wouldn't trade him for LT2 and a pick. Lynch and the 2.06? Who you gonna get there in a 6 keeper? Junk LTs value has been falling since the end of 2006. He had a good year last year but don't go overboard. Why ask if you are so mind set? What better can you get than ADP straight up? Would you take Lynch over ADP? That pick isnt what you should be worried about, the player is what you should be focusing on.
-
Ummmm. so he killed the thread by offering you a trade that you've already accepted?
-
I'd be fine with him as a 3rd WR if I had an upside guy at 4.

I've tiered the NFL teams according to near future opportunity. I figure a rooks value is higher if they land in higher tier. I'm considering a 1-2 year span. Tier 1: represents early fortunes as far as opportunity. Tier 1 (starting 2-3 down job awaits): Det Chi Tier 1.5 Hou Oak Tier 2 (starting job available soon): NYJ Cin Den Ariz Tier 3 (solid RBBC slot may be open now) NE Mia Car NO TB* Tier 4 (some playing time but limited opportunity in year 1 w/o injury but there is year 2) Pitt SD Bal SF Phi Sea Cle Dal* Ten* Tier 5 (no opps year 1, not much possibility to start year 2) Atl Buf NYG Jax Ind Min KC St L GB* Was* *teams were the hardest to slot. I like Earnest in TB but he certainly isnt as safe as Barber who may end up with a mate in the backfield but most likely will be the RB to have on that team for next few yrs. Tenn and GB are very deep at RB. Was.? I may have ranked them one tier too low because of the year 2 potential. Thoughts appreciated. Edit: made tier 1.5 for Hou and Oak, dropped Pit to tier 4.
-
Done, anybody else think I'm off the mark here? I started doing this because I will have a shot at the 4th or 5th Rook RB. Im hoping Chi and Det AVOID McFadden, Mendenhal and Stewart seemingly making it the big 5 in my keeper leagues. I would love to end up with Stewart because folks are scared of his injury.
-
You guys are making a good case to drop him a tier. Do you really think Najah makes them happy? Russell...I go pretty deep in my RB depth knowledge and don't know much about this guy. I'll take your word for it if he's a potential GL RB googleing him momentarily... All in favor of dropping Pit a tier.... All in favor of Hou/Oak being tier 1.5....
-
Look at what Davenpoop did. Thats at least available for the right rook and I am sure Pitt would like to lighten Parker's load considerably this year. Im not saying these are needs, im saying my value for the 2nd tier rookie RBs is dependant on these tiers.
-
As far as both of these teams go I combined that tier into 4. I agree with most of what you said but There is a pretty good chance that In Oak a rook could start with Fargie being that solid 3rd down if not injured. I will believe Bush when I see it and Jordan could still be cut. If not then yes I would drop Oak into a 1.5 tier. Hou has Brown and Green but theres little to no way that either is a full time starter and a good chance that both get hurt early. Id let Hou slide to 1.5 also. Shall we call 1.5 the maybe not starter in 1st 4 games tier?
-
I like both Palmer and Rivers as candidates but I dont think Palmer falls that low. I also might target Leinhart and Warner as my QB depth. There is a lot of young depth that you don't want starting but might want on your roster. Rodgers, Clemons, Edwards, Croyle, maybe even TJackson or Quinn if you dont believe in DA. Im from the plug-n-play school as far as starting QBs though so I buy QBs earlier than most.
-
If the draft goes well enough for his stock to drop possibly behind second tier guys, sitting at 4/5 might pay dividends if you can be patient. Im hoping that with the big 3, 2 others go to good situations.
-
You watched him play. What's not to like? Yes his offense could change but we invest in much worse every year. This guy looks good. Look deeper into his past and you'll find a player that will never have a problem with attitude, never with learning. Physically he's got to be a plus and speed is pretty good for his size. He catches the ball well too! Hes had some injury history but not many havnt. I feel his ceiling and floor are actually higher than most are thinking.
-
Brown will come cheap, I wish my team would pick him up, he is talented. Hou could still draft a RB but I doubt they go early. TD, OGary, MAnderson blah, blah... Hart late?
-
If they don't draft a TD back, Ernie is looking real good in most leagues.
-
Thanks for the link. That was fun.

I'd give it a couple of days and go get Grant from his owner if your league allows it. Rodgers is inexperienced, obviously. But if he can be serviceable, and he has an o-line, a TE, a bunch of good WRs and a decent defense to win the field position game then his RB will benefit by taking some of the pressure off the kid between the 20s and grind it out in the end zone. Rodgers has to dink, dunk and go deep. Grant might be a PPR monster, compared to his projections. 3-4 WR sets will keep that box open. I'm buying Grant and Rodgers, but will be careful with Jennings, Driver and Lee. Sleeper: James Jones Early Sleepers: the 4th string WR as well as the back-up pass catching TE if they are in the 2nd+ year for the Pack. (Chemistry with Rodgers) I must admit to owning Grant in one of 2 leagues.

If Hou trades Sage they are losing their insurance policy for Shaub. I don't understand why Minn would give up a 3rd rounder? If they want a starter they ought to go get one, otherwise why invest highly.
