    What CFB game s everyone...

I'm watching USC BYU. The Trojans were the best team in the country at the end of last season, and the loss of their best defender and a Heisman winner has done nothing to change things. They would have blown away OSU in a bowl game last season, and this season they're going undefeated and getting that national championship they could have won a year ago if not for a bad start.

    Running backs...

If you make a proposal there, try to remember to post it here. I want us to get as much use as possible out of this board. And the format here is much better for our comments.
  3. It's like Christmas Eve today isn't it. Thursday was just some strange teaser. It won't feel like we're under way until tomorrow morning. The Titans are going to stuff the Raiders. Go Cowboys!

    The Best Team on Paper!!!!

If Warner comes back to good form and other things go as expected then TR looks to have a little more strenth than anyone else. In 17 years I've never seen things go as expected though. That's why we play the game. I wouldn't have touched Warner this year. It'll be interesting to see who is right and wrong about him. One week does not a season make. We won't know what's up with Kurt until he faces some adversity and a few big hits. I don't like the teams in this league with an obvious void at RB. friar's triple headed monster could change the way I feel about that. So could some of the guys on Seekers team if they come through. This is sooooo fun.
  5. The Prozac Weekly has been in and out of circulation at various times for the past decade. The Weekly's multiple purposes include previewing the current week, reviewing the past week, and hopefully generating league discussion and activity. It has always been a publication dedicated to indepth reporting, quality analysis, and accurate information. Though published from the PR Department of the Prozac Attack, it enjoys a reputation for impartiality. During its last run, the Weekly was bankrupted by a series of frivolous libel litigations, and the publication is now back and determined to avoid such travesty with the abbreviated format below. Without further adieu, it's GOIDPANKAL Week One in review: ***** Five Star Matchup ***** Prozac Attack @ Tenacious D Point Spread: Tenacious D -3.5 Over - Under: 212.5 FFToday's inaugural IDP league begins with an epic battle between the current and past FFToday IDP rankings experts. In a brilliant display of his defensive knowlege, current site prognosticator, Tusekan Raiders, chose for his quarterback a man who posted a Mireresque passer rating of 67.4 a year ago. Kurt Warner earned no victories last season as he guided the once formidable Rams to six losses while throwing nearly four interceptions per touchdown. IDP Tony obviously drafted Warner as the 4th overall qb to send a message to his defense to perform. Legendary Prozac Attack owner, Zap, returns to fantasy football after a two year hiatus during which he failed to rehabilitate his psychotic heroin junky wife. With the now ex-wife safely incarcerated by the great state of Nevada, the personal problems behind him, Zap returns to the game he's dominated for years amid speculation that he's completely lost his mind. Drafting a host of unproven receivers, defenders destined for the waiver wire, and the most injury prone running back he could find, all we can say is, he may be the one in need of anti-psychotic medication. Give the 3.5 points and place a hefty percentage of the budget on Tenacious D. **** Four Star Matchup **** Stuart Scott @ Shark Jumpers Point Spread: Even Over - Under: 212 The trash talk started early in this contest between owners who bored us during the draft by following consensus cheetsheets as if they had no minds of their own. However, in t.j's defense, he did sacrifice two early picks in order to draft twice in the first round and then surprisingly chose a second round running back with a first round selection. Diesel was still wetting the bed the last time Emmitt Smith posted a srong fantasy season, but he has expressed confidence that ooooold Emmitt can still carry the load. t.j has said, "I truly do believe I am going to kick Stuart's ass." Deisel responded by prematurely ejaculating a claim to the league championship. The unfortunate injury to James Stewart puts too much pressure on this team to overcome the cheetsheet generated soundness of the Shark Jumpers. Don't hesitate to take the over and the Shark Jumpers straight up. *** Three Star Matchup *** Rhody T-Run @ Providence Friars Point Spread: Providence Friars -5 Over - Under: 211 Drafting a quarterback with a broken leg, a tight end with a broken rib, and a linebacker with a broken hand, PIK 95's Rhody T-Run enters this season starting a mediocre running back who replaces a good one with a broken foot. This novel draft strategy leads us to believe the best days for this team are in the future, far in the future. Taking advantage of t.j's fear of a weak running game, friar negotiated a picks trade that garnered him a potent trio of receivers, and a weak running game of his own. His seemingly stout defense took a cap in the ass this week. Perhaps this is a sign of a bad element within the team or even an ominous early omen, but nevertheless; take the under and give the five points. ** Two Star Matchup ** The Seeker of Truth @ Crankshaft Grinders Point Spread: Crankshaft Grinders -6 Over - Under: 205 A battle between two of FFToday's know-it-all lurkers headlines the opener's two star matchup. A strong start in the early rounds of the draft brought compliments to l13r's Truth Seekers. He responded to the early praise by suggesting he prefers it when people insult his draft. In fact, he claims that is when he usually wins. If it's any consolation now that the draft is complete, we think his finished product sucks. That should make him feel better and increase his chances. Finishing second overall in the category of drunken draft choices, Sisters of No Mercy battled strange Asian licquors, rain soaked beaches, a melodramatic time-zone challenge, and numerous hangovers to make the Crankshaft Grinders a potential championship team. Well rounded with quality at every position with the exception of receiver, the only thing holding this team back will be the coach's sobriety. Take the six points, place the rent on The Seeker of Truth. * One Star Matchup * Scurvy Mongrel Dogs @ SweetLeaf Vaporizors Point Spread: Scurvy Mongrel Dogs -2 Over - Under: 201.5 FourTwoOh was obviously vaporizing a mellow, deep-thought provoking sweetleaf during the beginning of the draft when he selected stalwarts like McNabb and Holmes. Unfortunately his supply went up in smoke, and he scored a more potent, halucinatory bud. The results of which prompted him to draft a running back likely out for the season, a list of third string receivers and more waiver bound defenders than Prozac. With twenty two rounds of consistent mediocrity out of his way, teddyt goes into this week with arguably the most mundane and boring lineup in league history. The late round grab of a once high scoring quarterback now on child birth medication is the most interesting thing about this roster. Keep the yawns to a minimum, give the two points, and channel surf to E for reruns of Wild On. No Star Matchup Peerless Prices @ Scorgasms Point Spread: Scorgasms -5 Over - Under: 199 In a last minute surprise, Ayatollah actually submitted starters for week one making Scorgasms task a little more difficult. Leading the league in drunken drafting and off to a fast start in inaccurate smack talk, RLLD still gets the nod in this one. Ayatollah dropped several dozen spaces in the draft and still managed to reach wildly for players he could have had later. All this is a recipe for the week's yawner. Don't touch this one.
  6. I didn't get a reply to the email I sent you. So, I didn't add Teyo to my roster. I picked up Mili instead. Here's the situation. PIK's list could be interpreted two ways. One would have given him three TEs including Teyo. It was the end of the draft, things were getting confusing, so I picked PIK's receivers for him, and put Teyo on my team to give PIK the option of either interpretation. With Gonzo questionable, I didn't want to use Teyo if PIK indeed wants him, and I didn't want to go TEless, so I left Teyo in free agency and got me a Seahawk to play against that vaunted Saints defense this weekend should Gonzo convalesce. Jerramy Stevens will never learn the playbook anyway. Point is: Nobody should go pick up Teyo until PIK posts that he is available. Thanks.

    friar-- Tony Hollins RB Titans

I hate to look like the thread gestapo, Diesel hates being deleted, but if I ever really wanted to delete a post, this one would have to be on top of the list!! code: HollinGs from Houstin will be added to friar's Friars shortly

The Prozac Weekly -- Week One

Maybe you missed the part where this isn't a dynasty league. Bulger isn't starting anywhere until he leaves the Gateway city. What he meant to say was, "How did I not cover my ass on that one?? "

    Scoring Errors?

I haven't double checked this morning, but according to TR's numbers for Abraham, he should have 16 and Yahoo is scoring him 15. Likewise Coles, as far as I can see, should have 10.6, but he has 11.something at Yahoo (with a mention that he scored points out of his category). Hmmmm. He got a solo tackle on an interception didn't he? Yes, he did. I remember it. I have Coles in my other leagues and should have him in this one. So, it's just an issue of Yahoo missing a point for Abraham. If you catch any this week, please let me know.

He drafted a Titan named Hollins. I'll wait for clarification if friar thinks Hollings will drastically boost his fearsome running attack. eek!

The Prozac Weekly -- Week One

Well, I'm on record believing Foster is the far superior talent. Imho, If Davis is worthy of first round numbers, then his injury makes Foster equally if not more worthy. I can't say the same for Toefield, but I'm in a more precarious spot with Taylor than you with Davis. That's why I went to waivers for Foster, but got aced out by RLLD. The Bulger comment should have had a wink or It was a great pick.

The Prozac Weekly -- Week One

You've still got those stud receivers to look forward to!! t.j, you're going to regret the venal Bulger draft move, when you should have handcuffed Davis to Foster. I went to nab Foster and RLLD has him. friar, you should have had Foster long before you reached for Hollins. I've hyped very few players on the mange bored, but DeShaun Foster is going to be a nightmare for Davis owners and and and... I'm pissed at RLLD.

    Roster Deadlines (w/Thursday Game)??

I knew I could adjust my "LINE UP", I was just wondering about those who started Jets or Jetskins last night. Thanks, I'm on the computer that takes forever to load yahoo for some reason. It's fast here, but I'd fall asleep on this thing trying to get to the league site. Weren't you going to help me reformat this overburdened hardrive??
  14. Those of you who started players last night, are you capable of changing your other players today? I recall a league, could have been Yahoo, that wouldn't allow any teams changes after a Thursday kickoff.

    John Abraham...stud.

First the obligatory, it's only one game! Second, ouch. Studly, indeed. Third, the only DL I drafted is questionable. May Kurt Warner return to last year's form.

    Free Agents and Waivers

All unowned players who have cleared waivers are free agents and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can pick up or drop players by simply clicking on the Pick Up Player or Drop Player links located near the top of your Team Page. All claimed players will immediately be added to your bench. It is up to you to move them to starting positions. You can drop players without replacing them, but you can only pick up players without dropping anyone if you have less than the maximum number of players on your roster. You will never be allowed to exceed your league's roster limit. If you drop a player from your roster, he will immediately be placed on waivers. You will then not be allowed to reclaim the player until after the waiver period expires. Before the start of the season, all undrafted players will be placed on waivers, with those left unclaimed then being treated as free agents. Our waiver period is one day. All players dropped from a team's roster are immediately placed on waivers. During this waiver period anyone in the league can claim the player. So, if a player is dropped on a Wednesday afternoon, all coaches can claim him until Thursday at 11:59 pm PT. The player will then be assigned to their new team roughly 4-8 hours after the claim deadline. If more than one coach claims the same player, the team that is highest on the Waiver Priority List is given the rights to the player. However, each time you add a waived player to your roster, you are pushed to the back of the list, so the team with the lowest waiver priority will always be the team that completed the last successful waiver claim. This "rolling" list stays in effect for the entire season. To find your current position in the waiver priority list, go to the Coaches List via your League Overview page. If nobody claims a player during the waiver period, he becomes a free agent. If you place a player on waivers, you cannot reclaim that player until after the waiver period has expired. If, however, you decide that you do not wish to waive the player, you can cancel the transaction -- provided it has not yet been processed -- by viewing it from your team page and clicking on the Cancel button. If you place a claim on more than one waived player at a time, each pending transaction will appear on your Team Page along with its current position in your waiver order. All new claims get appended to the end of the list, but you can alter this priority by viewing each pending claim and changing its priority in the box provided.
  17. Done. Marcus Robinson (his last draftee) is on waivers, Teyo Johnson is on Rhody T-Run.
  18. Teyo is the sole property of Rhody T-Run. It figures my interpretation was wrong. Do not pick him up, I'm going to see right now if my commish tools allow me to insert him into PIK's lineup.
  19. After loading our rosters all our players are listed at the "bench" position. Go double check my input for accuracy, please. Ricky Williams, RB, Indy-- right t.j? When setting your defensive starters, it "could" be a little confusing at first. "We" start 1DL, 1LB, 1DB and 2DFlex. Yahoo doesn't label them quite like that. Yahoo lumps all LBs with DLs and has a flex position simply called D. Please start at least one DL with the DL label. Don't sneak all LBs in. I will catch it. Your D will get goosed. For an example this is what my starters look like per Yahoo labels. DL Charles Grant (He's really a DL.) DL Ian Gold (He's an LB, but what can we do?) DB Roy Williams D Peter Sirmon (an LB at flex) D Chris Claiborne (another LB at flex) Those flex positions (Ds) can be any defensive position, obviously. But since LBs are called DLs at Yahoo, you do need one DL who is a DL and one DL who is an LB. It'll all make sense when you go set your lineups. Thanks.

  21. I haven't really been to work since going to Hawaii, and starting now, I'm reduced to night poster status for awhile. I'm trusting l13r, RLLD, and Ayatollah will all finish off their rosters tomorrow, so I can input them at Yahoo. I'm concerned about Ayatollah. If he doesn't fill out his roster, I will see if Yahoo will accept a short roster, and if not, I'll fill it in for him. If this turns into a more serious problem and he's continually inactive, I'll listen to suggestions. Wednesday morning you can check the league site, see your week 1 matchup, and decide who to start. I encourage you to review the league settings, scoring, starters, etc. Let me know if anything there conflicts with what I've posted here. It should match. I don't like long waiver holding periods and set them for one day. I deduct points for odd things like cheering injuries that benefit your team, fielding players on bye weeks, starting injured players, etc. But, don't worry about all that now. It's why I insisted on the ability to edit your teams. wink Have a great season. Good luck to all. That 4th paragraph was in jest. So were the two sentences that followed it.
