    Rounds 10 & 11 Commentary

I like the Emmitt pick, but I expected him to be around for a few more rounds. I'm amazed how disrespected he is. I thought pushing 1000 last year was a feat considering that offense. He is and always will be superior to Hambrick. Yes, I'm a Cowboy homer, but even Parcells summed this up by saying Hambrick is no Emmitt Smith. Has he declined? Oh yeah. Was he a value in round 10 with this little RB run? I think so. I was hoping he'd be my #4, but not expecting to pick him til rd 13. Guess, I better set my sights on Toefield after all.

I think Sharpe was a conservative yet appropriate choice. I feel the same about Alstott. Carter was one of four DLs I had in my travel weary mind. It was one of those inflight moments of clarity that enlightened me with Grant before the others. I'm wondering about pressurized cabins and fantasy decisions though. Nice to see Ayatollah show up for a pick. I AM ENFORCING THE THREE HOUR TIME LIMIT, AS ADVERTISED, AND AGAINST THE WISHES OF A GOIDPANKAL MINORITY. Sorry, but until we have an agreed upon date and time to go live, I feel the need to push this. Follow the sticky post about Time Limits and we should all be fine.

    Rounds 8 & 9 Commentary

As I departed for the mainland there were three "value" players atop my list. I was hoping, even expecting two of them to be available when I got home. The Viking RB, the 9er QB, and the Raider LB. So instead of feeling good about value, I filled a couple needs from tiers that I felt were about to hit drop offs.

    Rounds 8 & 9 Commentary

I'll confess to oversights on my part. I loved Mephisto's argument (a couple years ago) for drafting your starters before drafting players destined for your bench, BUT had I realized Dunn was on the board I would have nabbed him. He lingered too long and we gave up big value there. Trevor, I hear your reasoning for Mack before Dunn, but I dunno 'bout dat. I flat missed him. Blame the vacation, whatever. Then I'd rather not think about the Jimmy Smith pick as desperate as I am at receiver. I didn't want the Hilliards of the world because I wanted go to players and I think I have some strong research supporting my picks, but I could have waited for another and took Jimmy. More regrets from the balcony. frown

    Our Schedules???

I see I won't be picking this morning, and I may be around this evening, but I doubt it. I will try to check in tomorrow morning, but if not... I'm doing the airport thing and will be offline for about 24 hours.

    Our Schedules???

I will be gone from about 8am to 1pm PDT. When I get home tomorrow early afternoon, I'll check right in, but I will be busy packing and such. I'm spending tomorrow night in LA. I'll have access from the time I arrive (between 8-10PDT) for about two hours. Then I will be "black" until Monday night. At which point, I will not be very active online for a week. I have some jungles to explore, waterfalls to dive off, waves to ride, fish to catch, golf to play, sand castles to build, mai tais and hurricanes to drink, sunsets to enjoy, bikinis to watch, pineapples to eat and so on.

Freeney is a sweet pick because that D can spends alot of time on the field. If there's separation between him and Peppers, I won't be suprised if it favors Freeney. You may not have preferred him, but I'm wondering how you got a copy of my draft board.
  19. With the exception of my trek into th wilderness, I think I've done very well, despite my number 2 ranking in time hogging. I was around for hours waiting onh lord13rahl before leaving that time. I think this wonderfull little research you did has exposed our most consistent culprit. LORD13RAHL If I recall correctly he works in front of a computer and has no issue with his boss or internet access. Thanks t.j. I was thinking of doing this, but snorkeling under the stars seemed a better option. Guess who's on the clock? Guess who's sittng in his hotel room waiting? I have two hours from this post to pick. Then. I don't know, but probly not until mos of you are sleeping. That being said, just remember we were facing not starting until the 27th or later. So, despite the lags and frustration, we're way ahead. Relax. Have a Mai Tai, go for a swim, enjoy a sunset.

The rented scuba gear is in the rented van, none in too good a shape. I'll be back in about three maybe four hours, and I'll be around most of the day. Would love to see us have a productive day TODAY. BECAUSE, I'm going to be pretty busy the rest of this trip.

    Rounds 6 & 7 Commentary

Coming out of the jungle last night it was Troy Brown/Todd Pinkston on my list and ready to go. I was anticipating a qb in the 10th or 11th, but Brooks had been on the board long enough. For me this is now an effort in finding a tandem of receivers that will outprocuce the two I just passed on for the upper tier qb and the top DB. I disagree about their being great depth at DB. To me this is a one player first tier, an interesting second tier and an abyss. The thinking I wished I'd abandoned that cost me a #2 receiver, going upper tier for Gonzo, I embraced in this section with Brooks and Williams. I'm happy with my team in regards to vbd theory at this point. I was not happy before these picks. This is sooo much fun! The questions I have for Todd/Troy, I also have for recievers coming back to me.
