Kid hits a couple of home runs at a showcase and all of a sudden he's a big deal. Whatever. Anyway, lets get this sh!t started. I renewed the site a few weeks ago, and then mostly forgot about it. I just checked it out for the first time since tonight, and its saying we have 12 confirmed teams? Can this be possible? For the first time in 12G1C history do we not have any offseason turnover? How about drop a post in here to confirm your confirmation. If its true, i suppose we can get on with it..... OK so the league is now open, and has a working waiver system. So get your claims in today!! I had to make a couple of executive decisions, and and choose the "unclaimed players gametime to put a player on waivers" option, and to set it up in reverse order of the draft. These both seemed like pretty standard options, so thats what i chose. If it isnt what we want, i guess it can be changed next year

OK so rosters are loaded. I have not finalized anything so the league is still inactive. By my count we have 5 votes for option B (WW, Vudu, DJBG, posty, mooks) , and 1 vote for option A. (Herb) and 1 vote for I dont give a crap. (shotsup). I wont vote, unless a tie needs to be broken. , Heavyset posted some thoughts, but i dont think really spelled out what he was voting for. The poll is useless because there is no way for us to know who voted. Cruzer, drobs and CH's vote dont count. I guess someone needs to make a decision. When its made, let me know, and ill push the buttons.

What advantage did I have? FCFS had been open for days? I saw something on tv...and if it was on TV it was probably on the Internet hours before that.... and I checked our already open functioning league. I didn't wait to click the finish button until some stud dropped into my lap. I didn't open the league and not tell everyone. I just was the first one to check out the WW. I remember being shocked no one had claimed him yet. But whstever. Revise history. Makes no difference. One thing your on the money about is this league is not my priority. I very much prefer the dynasty format. This is my last redraft league. And every year it's gets to be a little more hassle than its worth. This year with 12 returning owners I thought I was finally going to have an easy year. But no. Figure out what you guys want and I'll push the buttons. I'd do it soon I'd you want waivers this year. Other than that if you need me.drop me a pm.I probably won't be in the GC much. I need a break from this place.

Also next year this league will be on fleaflicker. That way we can do the draft and league all one platform and there won't be any of this shady commissioner activity entering the rosters when it best suits him.

I have no issue starting this this year if it is what the majority want. Please also do me a favor and decide what to do if the draft finishes after the waiver deadline before the first weeks games like it did last year.

But he didnt. And Bo did. And none of that changes the fact that Tebow is nearing 30, and has mostly average to below average baseball skills. Could he get better? Absolutely. If he spends the next two years absolutely devoted to getting better, maybe he would get good enough to earn a spot on a low level minor league team. I dont see how he ever gets good enough to play in the MLB. Just my opinion though

If i can get 1 out of 6 or 8 pitches in the strike zone from 60 feet im ecstatic. My son says the guy who throws BP For them a lot is an ex SEC pitcher now in his mid 40's who my son claims hit the EXACT same spot 25-30 times in a row., and can still get it up over 90 occasionally.

bo jackson was a second round draft pick by the yankees as a senior in high school, played 4 years of baseball at auburn and then 'quit' football and played almost a full season of minor league ball before getting a callup to the majors. tim tebow was a good, but undrafted HS baseball player who stopped playing for 12 years. they arent remotely the same.

Well i wasnt talking about pitchers. everyone knows that those guys arent athletes. and i agree about soccer. those guys are pretty incredible. I just have a broader definition of athleticism. To me hand eye coordination is an integral part of athleticism, or in the case of soccer foot eye coordination. Lots of fast guys who couldnt play a sport to save their lives. I think lots of people get caught up in speed. Usain Bolt is an athlete, but the olympic shotputter is not. billy hamilton is an athlete, but david ortiz is not. cam newton is an athlete tom brady is not. But Tom Brady was drafted in two sports. How can that guy not be an athlete? i know i'll never win this argument, ive been having it for years on another site. so ok. ill shut up now.
