Foles vs Skins or Cutler vs Jets?

    Cutler and I don't think it's close. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=437334&do=findComment&comment=5317320

Le'veon Bell vs Panthers or Bradshaw vs Jags? PPR

Bell - I think he gets a lot of work out of the backfield. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=437334&do=findComment&comment=5317320

    The Leg
  11. I'm in a 12 team .5 PPR League and have Le'Veon Bell and Lesean McCoy as my two starting RBs with Gerhardt, Ridley, and Ingram on the bench. I am starting Cam as my QB. I've been offered Rogers for Bell. What do you guys think? Basically, it comes down to whether the difference between Rogers and Cam will outweigh the difference between Bell and my platoon.

Do I drop Gerhart for hot WW RBs?

As bad as Gerhart has looked, I don't think you can drop him for a short term investment. Therefore, I would say no to Davis. Bradshaw is interesting because he has looked 1000x better than Richardson. If you have faith that Bradshaw takes the reigns then that is the play. Otherwise, I think you stand pat. I do think Gerhart gets better if Bortles takes over. Teams are stacking the box and blitzing on every down. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=436941

    FLEXXXXXXXX... leave a link

I think you go with Allen here only because I think you still have to wait and see if NE is committed to giving Ridley the ball. To me, the question comes down to who has the higher floor? Buffalo is atrocious against the pass - the numbers so far this year are a bit of a mirage as they faced Chicago and both WRs went down with an injury while Arizona was playing with a backup QB. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=436941

    Trade Help..I'll Answer Yours

I would do this. As others have said, you can ride Robinson who will likely get the goal line work anyway. Alshon will be fine so you are getting a huge upgrade. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=436941

    Marshall and Jeffrey this week

I've got Marshall starting and Benjamin sitting on my bench. Rather than starting Benjamin, I am picking up Holmes as insurance and hoping to hell Marshall plays. As always, I am sure this is going to be a bad coaching call though...

    RB 2 Help

.5 PPR league and I need to choose between TRich, Jeremy Hill, Mark Ingram, MJD. I keep going back and forth between TRich and MJD. Denver is not great against the run, but I can see this game getting to be a shootout and not sure how much TRich will be on the field in those packages (I could definitely see a line of 12 rushes 25 yards and 2 receptions for 8...). Ingram plays against the woeful ATL run defense. However, I have to deal with the 3 headed RBBC. I am really hoping to just get 7-8 points here. I am actually pretty stacked at my other positions, so I am just hoping to avoid a donut. Who do you like and why?

    Doug's Big Boards 2014 - Version 1.0

Doug, It probably was me. Okay, so you are calculating z scores (aka standard scores). This makes QUITE a bit more sense. Yes, you are correct that these do indeed allow you to make comparisons from players at different positions. I am actually excited to see that you have done this. I've taken a similar approach in my own projections. The nice, value added, to this approach is that since standard scores take into account the variability of the position, it is quite a bit more difficult for a QB to get a high value here versus other positional players. RBs on the other hand, due to the variability in scoring at that position, will be heavily favored at the top (i.e., the stud backs). Your positional rankings actually reflect that fairly nicely. Thanks again - very nice work!

    Doug's Big Boards 2014 - Version 1.0

Doug, First, let me say it was like Christmas logging onto the site today as I was able to get to glance at both the Big Board and the Soloist Rankings! Great job this year and I can't wait to spend more time trying to integrate your information with what I have done thus far. I think I mentioned this last year, but I am pretty sure what you define as value needs to be re-phrased. Specifically, you suggest that, "the value reflects the standard deviation from the 12th-ranked player at the position – the last starting-caliber player at the position." Based on what you have written, it is probably more likely that you are calculating something more similar to a standard score. Standard scores allow you to calculate the difference between each players value and the average difference (or in this case, the replacement player) in some standard units (in this case the standard deviation). My reasoning for believing that your use of the term standard deviation is off is because we would never calculate a standard deviation for a single value. Standard deviations are used to talk about the amount of spread in a distribution of scores. So, it might make sense (and I've argued elsewhere), that we could use a standard deviation statistic to talk about consistency ratings. However, it would not make sense to talk about the variability of a single score. At any rate, I'm not trying to derail the thread. Perhaps, you can send me a private message with the formulas you are using and I can make more sense of them. Again, great work here - as always!

    Digital NFL Draft Board

The advantage of having a board where owners can post/write in picks is that you can hire "entertainers" to post the picks for the first couple of rounds... The Vegas Countdown is on!!!
