  1. This will be an interesting situation to monitor. Just last year fantasy mags were saying that Gonzo was the next big thing and would fill into Harrison's role without missing a beat. Then came the freak injuries and the emergence of Collie and Garcon. I think that much of the success of the Indy WRs are that they are products of Manning and the system. Given the chance Gonzo could make some noise for a few weeks and the when Collie comes back the entire Indy WR crew becomes a WRBC mess.

This is staying under the radar, but Garcon hurt his hand last week against Washington. He had a monster first half, then barely played the second half - came out with his fingers taped together, usually a sign of a sprain or dislocation. This is not good, especially for a receiver already thought to have "stone" hands...

  2. I would not do it.

Even though Knox is a speedy receiver, there are major problems with the Bears O-Line and giving Cutler time to throw.

Knox has not found the end zone this year. Williams gets more targets overall and in the red zone.

If Cutler's line improves(which it won't) I would think differently.

    Good Luck

Not only do I agree with this statement, I would also add that you need to compare playoff schedules - Williams wins that comparison in a landslide.

  3. Who do you think has the better season the rest of the way? I have been offered a trade including Foster who has been great so far but Mendenhall has been solid so I am hesitating to pull the trigger. Looks like an upgrade???

    Thanks

I would not do it. Mendenhall likely will drop off a little with Big Ben back, plus his playoff schedule is tough - both the Bengals and Jets in weeks 14-15.

  4. Help topic but would you guys take a flier on him and drop L. Moore?

I need one of them to start this week.

Long term either guy will be a WR 4 as I have Roddy, Calvin and TO.

I definitely would, but I always choose the "high upside" player over the steady one, when it comes to WR. Also, Moore will be less valuable in a couple of weeks when Bush returns.

  5. Should I trade Bradshaw and Torain for AP? He asked for Bradshaw,Torain, and Edwards for AP and Boss. to me Boss and Edwards are nothing.

If not help me improve me team.

His RB are Portis, AP,C.Taylor,Tolbert, Harrison

WR are Dez,Both S.Smith,S.Rice, and Lloyd

    Thanks

    LINEUP

    QB - Philip Rivers (SD)

    RB - DeAngelo Williams (CAR)

    RB - Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG)

    WR - Calvin Johnson (DET)

    WR - Santana Moss (WAS)

    TE - Brent Celek (PHI)

    RB/WR/TE - Ryan Torain (WAS)

    BN - Sam Bradford (STL)

    BN - Beanie Wells (ARI)

    BN - Felix Jones (DAL)

    BN - Braylon Edwards (NYJ)

    BN - Lance Moore (NO)

    BN - Mike Sims-Walker (JAC)

    BN - Todd Heap (BAL)

I am curious as to why you would even have to ask for opinions on this trade? Anytime you can get a Top 5 RB for a combination of players - all of which are second or third tier - take it!

  6. I'd say that you got more value in the trade and by a pretty good margin. However, this is a pretty fair trade because (a) she may not get much more value for Maclin, although he is a top 20-25 WR and (B) both teams get better with the trade since she is so deep at WR. Adding Lance Moore might make the trade a little more even, but his value isn't really that high. I think your league might be upset if this trade makes your team a juggernaut instead of a very good team. I'd personally veto any trade that made any of the top teams in the league better, even if they give up more in the trade.

Wow. I'm not into trashing anybody on these boards, but this is a scary, scary attitude. That being said, this trade is great for both teams and you should definitely do it.

  7. I mostly agree on this Alexander character. I was surprised to see that Rotoworld listed him as the top pick up of the week.

I always like to factor in what coaches/management does regarding a player. For example, last year the Cowboys gave Miles Austin a great new contract and he wasn't even a starter. We saw what happened...

The Rams just gave Alexander a 4-year contract, unheard of for an undrafted rookie with an injury history. I'm trusting (guessing) that they know what they have, so I think he is worth a shot...

Disclosure...I picked up Brandon Tate last week because I was convinced the Pats would never have traded Moss if they didn't believe Tate was ready to replace him...

  8. P. Manning (3) v. WAS

    C. Johnson (2) v. JAC

    A. Peterson (2) v. DAL

    H. Nicks (2) v. DET

    A. Boldin (2) v. NE

    A. Gates (2) v. StL

Strategy: I looked up the leaders YTD in touchdowns and then picked the ones going against the weakest defenses...seemed like as good a strategy as any.

  9. We we still have a couple more weeks of byes but around this time every year I start to get a decent sense of the value of my players and I get less interested in taking fliers. Instead I would rather add a second D who has good playoff match ups. Or maybe target/pick up a different RB/QB if I have someone who's schedule I hate.

    The things I've done:

    1. As a Cutler owner who hates his playoff schedule I've picked up Josh Freeman in case I need to roll with him home against Detroit and Seattle week 15/16.

    2. I've added the Miami D in leagues that I can as I love Buffalo/ Detroit week 15 and 16.

Just wondering if anyone else out there takes a similar approach and has anything to share.

I'm with you on this strategy. I start this process at the draft. I always place players in tiers and then decide based on their playoff schedule. As I get closer to the playoffs I try to create each position as a "by committee" position in order to take advantage of the playoff matchups. For example, A. Foster matches up against: BAL, TEN, DEN. I like my chances weeks 15 and 16, but not week 14. But, P. Hillis plays BUF, CIN, BAL. My "by committee" RB has great matchups weeks 14 and 16 and avoids the Ravens altogether.

Of course, having the highest point total in week 16 last year didn't do me any good as I ran into a 160-point opponent in week 15! But, all we can do is try to put the odds in our favor as much as possible.

FYI, I like your strategy regarding Freeman, but want to caution you on Miami's defense. Week 16 versus the Lions, who are one of the highest scoring offenses this year, may not be ideal...

  10. Need 2 RB:

Jahvid Best (P) @ NYG - Pretty staunch D. Rookie RB nursing a nagging injury but with huge upside.

Ryan Mathews (P) @ STL - Also probable, also rookie but even more unproven, against a middle of the pack run D. Plus Tolbert steals carries.

Ryan Torain vs. IND - Not injured but given his past may soon be. Rookie for all intents and purposes. Against poor run D, but somewhat explosive pass O. Will WAS abandon the run because they are down?

    Need 1 WR:

Austin Collie (Q) @ WAS - Still some injury concerns and Garcon is back. WAS pass D suspect.

Mike Wallace vs. CLE - Great preseason with Big Ben. Does the love affair continue now that Ben is back against a mid-range pass D?

Braylon Edwards @ DEN - No TD last week, but 3 on the season. Does Santonio help or hurt? DEN pass D is also middle of the pack.

    Thanks!

Torain for sure. Mathews over Best: (1) Best is on natural grass against a stout run defense, and (2) Mathews showed sign of explosiveness last week plus Norv has said that he wants to get Mathews more involved.

Wallace has the most upside. If Collie were healthy, he would be the "safer" points, but Collie was back in his boot earlier this week plus has a slight hamstring issue - he was definitely bothered by his injuries in last week's game, so I consider him risky with little-to-no upside this week (and I'm a Colts homer).

  11. Would you trade Turner and Colston for Charles and Jennings?

    PPR League

    Thanks

I would do this without hesitation. Jennings is a slight advantage over Colston, especially with the Packers claiming to be strategizing on how to get him the ball more; and Charles over Turner in PPR seems to me to be a strong advantage - he's averaging 12.5 ppg versus 11.2 for Turner, and he has not even begun to tap into his potential production.
