I'm with you on the less fortunate. I'm not willing to fund the less motivated. One group deserves a hand up. The other deserves a kick in the ass.

2017. When James Hodgkinson shot up Steve Scalise and the Republicans while they were practicing for a Congressional baseball game. It had been a few decades since the U.S. had seen a politically motivated assassination attempt up to that point. At least as far as I remember.

That reads, to me, like the Dems taking their ball and going home. They want everything they want and they want it now. This is a, what? Six week CR? They can compromise now, to make sure some things are funded, then work for a month and a half to negotiate a more equitable compromise on the next one. For the record, I've always felt this way about these buIIshit CR disputes. Its political theater to rouse the rabble. It's six focking weeks. Get it done and work towards getting more of what you want on the next one.

Let me be clear on this, I think anybody who kills, or tries to kill, anybody, for any reason other than self defense, is a focking nutjob. They're mentally focked up and deserve to be removed from society, permanently. I never said these nutjobs were representative of the entire American left. I merely stated that they are responsible for the resurgence in politically motivated violence. I don't see how you can credibly argue against that, although I know you'll try. Recent history will prove you wrong, however.

The fact that you had to dismiss three examples for what you perceive to be "lack of evidence" to support your one "example", and another nutjob, suggests I'm completely right. Especially given the fact that the resurgence in politically motivated assassination attempts was begun by people opposed to right leaning ideology. Political violence is a tool of the left. If that has resulted in outliers on the right participating in the same despicable behavior, you can chalk it up to a "play by their rules" attitude by those who have had enough of the buIIshit. ETA: Plenty of Conservatives despised Obama, I dont remember any attempts on his life. Plenty of Liberals despised W. Short of one goat focker throwing a couple of sandals at him, I dont remember his life being threatened. Political violence is a renewed phenomenon in this country. And it was renewed by the left.

Recent history shows that right leaning people don't try to murder those with whom they disagree ideologically. That seems to be a predominantly leftist tactic these days. That isn't disputable.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, and I may be, but the House has passed several CR's that keeps the government "working" in the short term but the Senate Dems keep voting against it. Why not keep the basics funded while working on peripheral things?

In fact, much like every other government shutdown, this one hasn't affected me at all. I think our taxes should be prorated for every day these morons go without working and they should all forfeit their pay. It might keep them from playing these stoopid brinksmanship games in the future. Either way, they should all be voted out of office at the first opportunity. They will never institute term limits on themselves. Its up to the electorate to rotate these shitbags out every couple of election cycles but we're too entrenched in the us-vs-them mentality to make it happen.

It will probably result in more theft, thereby increasing prices on the stuff I buy. Other than that, it won't affect me personally. It's a shame the Dems in congress will allow this to happen to Americans just because they won't return to work without getting free medical care for illegals first.
