My original post on this topic was in response to HT's post quoted here. If Shedeur was asking "will I start?" "Will I get a chance to compete for the starting job?" "If not this season, then when?" Are those questions really out of bounds? I don't think so. Granted, he's not declaring what college he's going to attend and doesn't have a say in the matter but I still think they're legitimate questions. And, frankly, if I'm drafting a QB, I want him to have that kind of competitiveness. I'd rather he want to start than ride the bench. Now if he was just being a total doosh and demanding a signing bonus or something like that then he got what he deserved. But HT's post seemed to imply that asking questions shouldn't be tolerated at all.

Fair enough. But asking what the company has in mind for you, if you're not an asshoIe about it, isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm sure 99.9% of prospective rookies are just happy to get the nod and somebody who seems less than 100% appreciative of just getting a chance at the bigs would rub a lot of execs the wrong way. I'm not saying that is wrong. I'm just saying asking questions in an interview should be expected from somebody who knows (or thinks he does) what he's worth. Well I'm not an entitled asshoIe about it, which it sounds like he may be, but, yeah, I'm asking questions about the company and what it's plans are for future growth. What criteria are they judging my success on in 30, 60 or 90 days. What are my prospects for advancement within the company... I want to know what my long term possibilities with the company are before I agree to take myself off the market for the next few years. And I'm not making a smidgen of the money he stands to make.

I don't know. When I interview for a job, I'm interviewing the interviewers as much as they're interviewing me. How else do you determine if the job is a good fit for you?
