Currently third place 6-4 10 team standard scoring league. Only top 4 teams make playoffs in week 15 and 16. QB: Andy Dalton Colin Kapernick Jason Campbell WR: AJ Green Larry Fitzgerald Riley Cooper Denarius Moore RB: Jamal Charles Knowshon Moreno Andre Brown Ben Tate Rashad Jennings TE Rob Gonkrowski So I traded away Philip Rivers and other players to get Gonkrowski. Can't see myself being able to trade a legit QB so I will attempt to stream QBs all the way to the championship. My main concern is my receiving core. Green is green, but i'm unsure if Fitzgerald or Cooper can carry me at the WR2 spot. I know of teams looking for RBs so I could try trade one of my RBs for someone like Ashton Jeffery or Jordy Nelson. The question is should I?

About 75% of the weight of my decisions come from matchups and opportunity (snap count, targets, etc) When there's a decision where it's 50/50 in my mind, I look to consensus rankings, history, tidbits, projected scoring, etc.

I can see him still on waivers in 8 man league, but 10+? Bush league if he is still un-rostered. I was angry out of principle when Aaron Dobson slipped past waivers to free agency in my work league last week. I picked up Cooper with the 10th ww priority. Then Dobson was picked up as a FA by the league leader who still has #1 WW priority. My ego will be crushed if i can't make the playoffs in that league of slow-to-react league.
-
I probably late with this joke, but shouldn't Cooper's nickname be "The N*gger Guy"?

Colston has always finished in the top 20 at his position, but this is the year the streak might end. If not, he's due for some huge games to bring his ranking up.
-
At this point, can you view him as any less productive than big name stars like Larry Fitzgerald, Hakeem Nicks, Marques Colston, Roddy White, Steve Smith? He has the same upside plus he's got a soft schedule going forward.

Loaded at WR, so I post a LF RB in league and this is what I get?

People don't understand you must give up something in order to get something. -
I've been unhappy with the standard DST scoring. What I don't like is a lot of times, the best defenses in the league don't translate to the best defenses in fantasy football. For example the Cowboys are third best DST in my league, but in real life they are very middle of the pack. I think unpredictable pick/fumble 6s account for too much and a lot of times that's more a result of playing bad offenses than being a good defense. Haven't experimented with this yet, I'd be interested in knowing the what the results would be like if defensive TDs were not counted.

I did and I still lost. Opponent had CJ2K and Forte.

\ If you have Josh Gordan, you might want to sell him now.

Gotta love the Pundits: Some Week 9 Rankings are a joke.
McBain replied to Filthy Fernadez's topic in FFToday Board
I can't trust consensus rankings anymore at fantasypros.com because there appears to be too many "experts" with terrible rankings. I do like looking at "experts" accuracy though http://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/accuracy/ Seems like the guys at Yahoo are some of the better predictors especially Scott Pianowski and Andy Behrens. -
Anything to help my poor Tony Gonzalez!

As long as the other team doesn't run up the score quickly, he will be solid play.

I have both on my bench, but not sure how to manage them. I have other needs so keeping both isn't ideal. Standard scoring league. All rest-of-way rankings have Blackmon ahead of Shorts and in top 20 of WRs. But recent games have indicated Shorts is the first option. Blackmon is more of a redzone target because of his size and style. So the question is, if you had to drop one, then who?
-
I have AJ Green, Larry Fitzgerald, and Denarius Moore too. Blackmon and Shorts are just FLEX options, but I don't want to have to decide between both each week. There's a defense on a bye I want to pick up before we reach WW status, so I want to drop one of these guys to pick up the defense as a FA instead of burning my WW priority.

Are all these new "safety" rules causing more injury?
McBain replied to Captain Goomy Noomy Roo's topic in FFToday Board
The ones that concern me are these non-contact injuries. What happened to Reggie Wayne shouldn't happen at all. No one touched him. Someone should study this more in depth. Shoes? Surface? Muscle mass? It's like athletes are strengthening everything, but their joints. -
Any Colts homers? So does Hilton step into the Reggie Wayne Z-receiver role? Or does DHB move over to Z and Hilton become the X receiver? Would suck for Hilton owners if continued to use him as the slot receiver and used Brazil on the outside instead.

Mike James marching and chowder bandwagon here...
McBain replied to R8RMick's topic in FFToday Board
Maybe the Bucs DEF is a candidate for #1 DEF next season if there's a head coach change. They resemble the Chiefs of last season in that they have good players, but poor leadership. -
Being Luck's #3 receiver is a million times better than being Weeden's #1

Mike James marching and chowder bandwagon here...
McBain replied to R8RMick's topic in FFToday Board
Will Mike James be the every down back? According to snap counts, Brian Leonard has been getting just as many to spell Martin. It might be a situation where James gets early downs and Leonard is the third down back. Plus Schiano has a hard-on for former Rutgers players. -
At least you still have Trich if you drafted him. For Spiller owners as myself, you would have been wise to pick up Fred Jackson as a handcuff and he has produced well. For Martin, you are screwed unless you have an extra RB who is producing well.

Would you start multiple people from the same team?
McBain replied to Hotbbq's topic in FFToday Board
Have Brees. Been trying to trade for Graham. I think it be a lethal combo. -
Keep in mind 70 something yards of his came from one blown play. Had the corner made the tackle, he would have been held well under a 100 yards and no TDs. Last year at home against Seattle, he caught 4 passes for 63 yards and no TDs. 60-something yards a game is his average right now. Seattle has only given up 3 WR TDs this season. So I'm predicting he gets 50-60 yards and no TDs. I'm leaning towards benching him.

It's all part of the pre-game hype.

Or... C. Manning placed a heavy bet on the Jags covering the spread and hoped Moreno would get stuffed all three times. D. Manning has Moreno on his fantasy team (most likely)
