I think Donald Brown is worth considering. 1) Trent Richardson has a history of getting injured and he sucks 2) Brown has looked very good in the limited action he has had 3) Colts will run the ball

Week 7 Waiver Wire - Jacobs, Allen, Randle, Boykin, Douglas
McBain replied to Shakey210's topic in FFToday Board
Super deep sleeper lottery ticket pick up: Reuben Randle If Hakeem Nicks gets dealt before trade deadline, you will get something out of Reuben. -
Manning is a field general. He calls whatever he thinks will score.

V-Jax ... this is why you took him as your #2 WR
McBain replied to Giants Fan's topic in FFToday Board
Vincent Jackson has been a career boom or bust guy. He scores his points in large chunks. So you will deal with a lot of single digit games. The thing I hate about boom or bust players is sometimes they fail to give you any solid points when it's a tight matchup, but on games where everyone on your roster is going off, they give you 30+ points which is nice, but you gladly switch the order of when the points happens. -
I just realized after week 7, you want to sell these guys. Hopefully they scored some points against the Broncos and Chargers, two WR friendly defenses. After week 7 they face 6 of the 8 toughest teams against WRs.

Is anyone sitting on Britt to see if he gets traded and a new start with a better QB ?
McBain replied to snatchit's topic in FFToday Board
He only caught one out of six targets last week. So he wasn't being avoided. It's a contract year and if this is the best he can do, he's done. -
Please tell me you guys use "points against" to help determine who to start and bench http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/pointsagainst It's no crystal ball, but it's a better starting point than nothing.
-
Yes I meant if trading for WR1 wasn't an option, you have to stream. Only works too if you have another WR that is consistent. Streaming two WRs will need to a lot of heartaches and headaches.

Denarius has been productive for me. But my strategy when you don't have never-bench stud is pick up a bunch of players and start the ones that have a good match-up. It's a strategy that has never failed me.

But an extra 5th round pick is better than nothing. For teams that are all in this season, MJD is a big asset. I think teams like Broncos, Saints, and Patriots would love to have MJD added to their RB depth for the playoff run, especially if the asking price is a late round pick.
-
The Jags have to be insanely stupid to keep MJD past trade deadlines right? He's gotta be as good as gone. Only reason I'm holding on to him.

Keep complaining! It's helping me.

Tony Gonzales's value just skyrocketed!

Maybe this was his/Green Bay's masterplan all along. "You go get paid, and when you're done, come home."

This. Bradford simply is Alex Smith 2.0. He cannot consistently hit the deeper targets. I'm a die-hard Rams fan and been holding my breath for Bradford to emerge, but it's simply not going to happen.

Are there any? Some I came up with. All owned in less than 25% of leagues. I picked up Terrance Williams thinking he might be a sleeper due to Miles Austin being out and Dallas having to throw a lot to keep up with Manning and company. Still hesitant to start him because he is a rookie and Denver corners have been solid. Legarrette Blount - Ridley didn't practice all week so it looks like Blount will be lead back. His YPC has been good, but they been splitting carries amongst him, Ridley and Bolden. This week looks to be 50/50 split between Blount and Bolden. I expect 12-20 carries. 100 yds and a TD is a possibility? Austin Pettis - Bradford seems to look for this guy. Givens is the big play guy, but that's all he does. Tavon Austin gets a lot catches but they're all underneath routes for 5 yards or less. Pettis is the middle ground between the two. Nothing scary about Jaguars defense. Any others?

Never thought Rams rbs would ever get this much interest on this forum. It's going to be a committee folks. Coach Fisher thought he could find a legit RB amongst a group of inexperienced rbs, but it's definitely not working out. So he just throwing them out there, hoping one of them sticks. The offensive line is playing like crap too. It's a situation to avoid.

NFL rant: the slide rule is dangerous and dumb
McBain replied to highsider5's topic in FFToday Board
If I were a GM, I would want traditional, pocket passing QBs over athletic QBs who like to run. Seems like there's a much higher risk of injury once the QB leaves the pocket. Would be an interesting study to compare injury rates in the pocket vs outside. -
100 yds from scrimmage but no TDs because Jacobs vultures the TDs. Wilson will be the new Tiki Barber.

Should I trade Wes Welker for A.J. Green straight up? Standard league format.
McBain replied to mickeypowell5's topic in A Little Help!
I am a frustraded Green owner too. I just don't get how the Dalton to Green connection can regress in their third season together. I guess maybe teams are daring Dalton to beat them by throwing elsewhere first. The good news is Green is still getting all the looks and red zone opportunities. He's due for some huge games if he is to get back to his preseason, projected stats pace (1300+yds 10+ TDs) But at the pace Welker is going, he's going to have a monster season. I know there are a lot of mouths to feed in Denver, but other than that, what risk is there with Welker? Only drawback with Welker is Denver might rest starters late in the season to save them for playoffs. Unless they shoot for 16-0. -
Is it safe to say that Gates is officially a stud again?
McBain replied to phins1921's topic in FFToday Board
He will deliver the goods as long as his feet hold up. Plantar Facsitis(sp?) is the only thing that can hold him back. -
Where can I find Defense numbers vs. #1 WR, #2 WR, etc.
McBain replied to FenixTx972's topic in FFToday Board
profootballfocus.com is the closest thing. You can't sort data to find how a certain CB does against WR1 or WR2. But you can compare the corners on a team and see which one gets targeted more and how well they defend the passes. Otherwise, if you have the time to look up stats, you can easily calculate which teams allow most points to WR1s. -
If he can't get decent flex points against my pisspoor Rams defense, I am done with him.
-
The reason Atlanta looks like a possible good play to me is because Santonio Holmes is out and Stephen Hill might be out too. Rookie QB on the road on Monday night with both his receivers out? I can't see the Jets putting up many points against the Dirty Birds. If the Falcons can score quickly, the Jets will be forced to abandon their run game and force Geno to throw.

Bradford = Alex Smith. Dink & dunk, game manager. Wants to get rid of the ball as quickly as possible. Basically the opposite problem of QBs who hold on too long looking for big play. He is excellent in the red zone where short accurate passes are important. But for getting big chunks of yards, he just doesn't have it.
