I’ll reiterate that I hate myself for not having the self control to not watch this. Fock George R.R. Martin for screwing over his book readers! With that out of the way, I actually think this is a much better show than GoT. And although Matt Smith is hard to look at, his portrayal of Daemon has been brilliant. He can steal a scene just with a look on his face. I’m not sure if the book that this series is based on is slated to have more written-if it does, then this will get focked over, too.

I disagree. I think that would be more likely to happen the way it currently stands. What’s being proposed would allow a President to hire/fire based on whether they are loyal/support him or not.

But this will allow that to keep happening and just accelerate it under each new administration. So what you’re basically saying is that if Trump is elected-he should be able to purge anyone who opposes him. Yay! Right? So what happens when the next Democrat is elected? Rinse and repeat. Now the newly elected D President cleans house to make sure his agenda is expedited and pushed through. Is this what you really want?

No, my point is that holdover employees are a good thing. If a president can fire anyone who opposes them, that is dangerous. That seems so clearly obvious that I can’t believe I have to say it. At this point Ray, I fear we’re too far gone. Both of our presidential candidates are unworthy of office. Democracy only works when there a two healthy parties and right now we have none. Polarization has gotten so bad that each side wants the other to just fock off and die. I have no idea where we go from here. Too bad we can’t drop a nuclear bomb on Washington DC and start over.

I am of the position of any incoming administration being severely limited to number of people they can bring on/fire. Regardless whether there’s a D or an R next to their name. It’s never a good idea to have our government stocked with ‘yes’ men. Not sure why this is a difficult position to grasp.
