No, my point is that holdover employees are a good thing. If a president can fire anyone who opposes them, that is dangerous. That seems so clearly obvious that I can’t believe I have to say it. At this point Ray, I fear we’re too far gone. Both of our presidential candidates are unworthy of office. Democracy only works when there a two healthy parties and right now we have none. Polarization has gotten so bad that each side wants the other to just fock off and die. I have no idea where we go from here. Too bad we can’t drop a nuclear bomb on Washington DC and start over.

I am of the position of any incoming administration being severely limited to number of people they can bring on/fire. Regardless whether there’s a D or an R next to their name. It’s never a good idea to have our government stocked with ‘yes’ men. Not sure why this is a difficult position to grasp.

Are you implying that there are currently no unelected officials that are against Biden’s administration? If this is your position then I’m not going to waste time with this.

Everyone is free to look this up. It’s not a secret. Normally, I wouldn’t reply to such drivel, but you seem to not understand that it works both ways. It’s not healthy or even a democracy if there is never any opposition during an administration. If everyone is on the same team, there is nothing from stopping someone from implementing more extreme policies when their party is in power.

So this federal employee thing is NOT new. Trump signed an executive order known as Schedule F before he left office. So there’s no questioning whether it is real or not. Biden rescinded it, but of course Trump has said he plans to re-implement it if he wins. These employees are guard rails to our government. It is one of the many checks and balances that we have. No one should be for this.

Can confirm. Midwest=pop South= Coke West= soda I grew up in the midwest and we called it pop. Moved to the west coast and now it’s soda. And when I visited the south I was totally confused when I was asked if I wanted a Coke but was given something else entirely.
