Another sjax thread! Hop on the wagon

Most people fail to recognize that in a standard scoring format, Steven Jackson has averaged 12+ points per game in every year since 2005. In terms of fantasy production, that has made him a top 15 running back in every year over that time span. As for the injuries, he has missed 13 games in his 8 year career. It is not like he is Darren Mcfadden, who has missed 16 games in the last 4 years or Ryan Mathews, who has missed 6 games in the last 2 seasons. When you look at his production and durability objectively, he actually grades out a lot better than many running back that are being taken ahead of him this year. Am I guaranteeing that he will finish in the top 15 this year and play at least 15 games? No, obviously nothing in fantasy is guaranteed, but I do think he makes a great option as a RB2 that is capable of averaging 13 points per game and those are low-end RB1 numbers in a standard scoring non-ppr format.

Who would you take @ # 9 pick?

In my opinion, Mcfadden is the clear choice since I believe he has the greatest amount of upside. See his game logs from last year as evidence, of course he is an injury risk. I would rank it Mcfadden, Chris Johnson then Murray.

    Trade Help!

Unless you absolutely feel it is imperative to upgrade one of your positions right now, then I would hold onto both and see if their value can grow to the point where you can trade them for something substantial. Otherwise, you aren't going to get a lot right now. I have B. Tate in my big money league and am doing the same thing.

    Mendenhall Help

I think that if you are worried about your running back depth, then this is a good move since championships are won in weeks 9-16. Latest I have read, the Steelers plan to slowly work him in through weeks 4-8, then give him more work as the season progresses just in time for you to activate him in week 9. Also, if your running back depth turns out not to be an issue, you can use him as trade bait to upgrade another area of need. If you have 2 running backs better than doug martin in your starting lineup, I wouldn't be overly concerned about your running back depth.

The Return of the Elf Challenge

No worries, like I said, it was just a suggestion and I do recognize that finding a draft time that is convenient for everyone would be very difficult. I set up a private league with my friends and we decided to draft every Sunday at 11:00am. But those were with people I personally know, so setting up a time with people over the internet would be exponentially more difficult.

The Return of the Elf Challenge

I know you guys have this set up on Fanduel and I played in a few of them last year but just as a suggestion, you guys should try out Draftstreet. The only reason why I suggest this is because on Fanduel, the only option is a weekly salary cap league where everyone ends up with teams that share 2-3 players with other teams. On draftstreet, you can set up a private league that is a weekly snakedraft, so it is more similar to the type of draft that we participate in for our season-long leagues. The only drawback is that for their weekly snakedraft leagues, the biggest size they allow is 10 players. Also, you would have to find a time that is convenient for everyone to draft or else they would just have to set up the predraft rankings. Like I said, just a suggestion because I would prefer to play in a weekly snakedraft as opposed to a weekly salary cap league. I have done a few 10 person snakedrafts for week 1, and each draft took around 45 minutes so they are pretty quick.

    daniel thomas or shonne greene?

A lot of people seem to be saying that Greene finished the season strongly and are using it as justification towards reaching for him this year. But over the last 10 games of the season(including playoffs) he only managed 573 yards on 143 carries for a 4.0 yards per carry. I don't really consider that "finishing strong". LT had 3 times as many carries as Greene did inside the 5 yard line last season and I don't foresee that changing given LT's success inside the 5 yard line. I feel as though Greene's upside is 230 carries for 1000 yards and 5-6 scores. And that figure is generous because it assumes that Greene rushes for 4.3 yards per carry this season when he rushed for less than 3.9 yards per carry in 10 of 18 games last season. That said, as a Greene owner in a dynasty league, I would love to be wrong.
