FYI Mike - I finally resolved the issue. It was a Font Conflict. Apparently when I either installed Office 11 OR upgraded to Lion, some fonts either were duplicated OR deleted. I'm not sure which. I have 2 Libraries on the MAC - one for Home and one for User account since I set up my Notebook for a Guest Account. I removed 1 folder in my fonts folder called "Fonts" since it seemed odd to have a folder Fonts within the Folder Fonts but I also copied all the Fonts from my Home Library to my individual User Library since it didn't show any fonts. One of those actions worked. Now documents I don't create in Office 11 show correctly when opened.

This is designed to be an auction "Dynasty" League. The roster is 30 players including 9 bench players. There are also 5 IR spots. Auction budget will be $300. Keeper values will be cost plus 10% each year with a minimum value of $2. There will be a FAAB for waiver wire and free agents. Start QB, 2 RB, 3 WRS, TE, RB/WR/TE Flex, K on Offense and 2DT, 2 DE, 3 LBS, 3 CBs and 2 S on Defense. I'm inclined NOT to set a maximum on the number of keepers but let economics dictate. IF we set a maximum it will be high since I want this to resemble a "real" NFL team. I will probably set a minimum of keepers to 20 (66%) to prevent anyone from just wholesale dumping to try and resign the dropped players at a lower value and thus "game" the system. The initial draft is very important. Don't join unless (1) you will be available for the draft: about 4 Hours; (2) you plan to play for the long term - not just this season and (3) You are a serious player but also a good sport. Just so everyone knows, I live in Hong Kong which is 12 hours ahead of US ET. I initially declined to join this league because there was no definite time set for a draft, and I didn't want to join a league where I couldn't draft. It isn't fair to anyone including me to have it auto draft. I was talked into joining with the assurance that there wasn't a set time to draft, and I could draft at my convenience (see the posts on the FFtoday board). When the draft started, I was at work. I teach English as a Second Language. Thursday is my busiest day at the moment, and the draft stared at 9 something PM ET Wednesday in the US apparently, but that is 9 something AM Thursday here. I wasn't able to check the League Page until between 3:30 pm and 4 pm here when I had a break. That is when I first saw the draft was live and was able to draft. My schedule is lighter tomorrow since I don't have a class until noon (midnight Thursday ET), but I won't be able to draft during the middle of the night here (unless I just happen to wake up) so from noon ET until sometime early evening ET I won't be able to draft. I don't usually get to bed until about midnight here (noon ET) but I do have to have sleep. I was told this wasn't going to be an issue BEFORE I signed up but it seems from the main League board that it may be. If it is going to be an issue, tell me now and go ahead and replace me now. I don't want an auto draft team. I didn't sign up for a team with Auto draft picks. If you want to hold a "regular draft" session, then I can make myself available Friday evening ET after 5 pm (it will be 5 am Saturday for me) until about 11 pm or Saturday before 1 Pm (I have an auction Dynasty League that will start drafting at 1:30 pm ET) or after 6 pm Saturday when that Auction Draft should be over until Sunday night about 11 Pm. If the decision is to go forward with "auto-picks" between noon and 7 pm ET, then replace me. I don't want any part of such a team. Tim

Beware of targeting players! I tend to have "Tiers" of players I like and target positions. Generally I split my budget about 70/30 for Offense and Defense (if you are doing an IDP league as I do) and then set % to spend on positions. Usually RB is about half of the O budget. Don't be afraid of spending early but don't get carried away just because your target player is on the board. If they go overvalue, let them go and grab your #2 or #3

Ok you talked me into it. I just don't like to "join" if I can't make the draft; sounds like I can in this "format" If there is still a spot; if not that is OK also.

Sorry. Living in Hong Kong (12 hours ahead of US ET) and working 6 days a week; I can't commit without having specific draft times. Sounds like fun but I'll have to pass.

*LOL* It may be an Office 2011 issue instead; I'm only having issues with Microsoft Office products. Are you using Office 2011 or an earlier version? So far I've had problems opening older Word, Excel and Powerpoints. Not sure if it is Lion OS or Office 11 or a combination

When do you plan to draft? That could determine if I could participate or not. I'm in one dynasty now and am starting an auction Dynasty this year on Yahoo (still could use 4 players there) drafting 8-27

Maybe the combined size of the screenshots were too much? Anyway, all is well on that issue. ON the disappearing fonts, it may be a Lion OS issue. I'm seeing it in on some of my other Microsoft documents also, not just yours. I'm able to work around it.

The compiler issue has partially resolved. I cleaned off some files to free up some disk space and ran a "repair permissions". Not sure if either is responsible but as of 5 minutes ago, I was able to run the 16 team 40 man roster without an error message but it only gives me 240 players "overall" and not 640. Is this the limit on Overall? I notice it does give me deeper ranking by position just not "overall". the email from my main email received back this message each time : A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of itsrecipients. I have now run into a 2nd problem. Is there a limit on the number of teams/rounds the macro can handle? I play in a 16 team / 40 player roster Dynasty League on ESPN. When I input the fields for 40 players (used 3.5 twice for extra RBS/WRS) and try to create a cheatsheet, I get an error message saying Macros are not enabled. Macros were enabled when I opened the spreadsheet. When I ran the cheatsheet using only Starters (only 23 rather than 40), it worked fine. I then realized why I didn't have 680 players and edited the fields to add up to 40 player rosters and I get the error. I did it with 35 keepers and with 0 since I thought maybe not having 35 keepers listed yet for each team might be the problem. Same result. I tried to email screenshots but your mailbox is full.

Trying to use this on a MacBook Pro running the latest OS (Lion) and using Excel for 2011 (just bought it in April), and I'm experiencing a few problems. A lot of the text doesn't show. I've discovered that if I highlight blank areas and turn "Bold" off, then I see text that was previously not showing but I have no idea which areas should contain text and which don't so it's kind of trial and error.

This is a new Free league I am starting; it's on Yahoo and the draft as stated is set for August 27 at 1:30 PM ET. The draft will take approximately 4 hours. Only managers who can make the draft should apply since it is a dynasty league where almost all the players will be retained year to year.
