American Hero and Hetero Pete Hegseth slashes 60,000 Pentagon civilian jobs in massive purge sending shockwaves

I voted for Obama twice. I truly thought that he'd do good things for us, and now it's all coming to light. Disappointing. -
Why do MAGAs let violent trannies have guns?

This thread is ridiculous and pure trolling. -
Are the transgender threads in this forum getting out of hand?

This is probably the best thing I've read here in a very long time. I am sure there are a few of us here who remember being these ages and struggling with friendships, discovering who we are as people, and figuring out our place in the world. You add one social issue to ANY of this and it will begin to rewire and skew thinking. There is proof out there that our brains can be rewired. You add in parents who NEED their children to be a part of this social movement and this is what happens. These kids need someone other than mom and dad to talk to. One of my daughter's best friends is transmale. She plans on getting surgeries and all kinds of things. She's in her early 20s, but the only thing I can think of is the potential for a lifetime of physical pain that she might be going through. I also have another friend who was lesbian until her mid 40s and then decided she was trans. She's been on hormones, had top surgery and will eventually get bottom surgery. her mental illnesses and issues have not improved or changed, when she thought that becoming a man would "fix" it all. There's so much more to all of this. -
I am not surprised. People hate CA...but seem to love its politics and politicians.

I am not surprised that CA didn't make it far in the poling.

Mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis
TheNewGirl replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
It doesn't really matter what you think; we voted YES on it. Almost 70% yes, to be specific. Last I checked, in our democratic republic if the people vote YES on it, it needs to happen. If it's just selective, then why bother? Move on to the dictatorship that you all seem to want. -

Right. We keep trying to make it more difficult for criminals, but your party doesn't seem to really want that to happen. I.e Prop 36. -

Transwomen follow the same violent crime rate as cisgendered men; regardless of the hormones you're taking and what you have between your legs. -

You live in a state with some of the strictest gun laws; can't you see that they don't help much? Crazies and criminals don't care about stricter laws. -
This was very interesting to see how it all turned out!

You guys check this out? I've been watching for a while, really a guilty pleasure show for me. Couples basically speed-date without ever seeing the other person. They meet in "pods" and talk through a wall and try and match up, etc. They propose, then have a reveal. They go on a trip, meeting the other couples during the trip to see who they "didn't choose." Drama ensues. They go home, meet each other's families, more drama ensues. The finale of the seasons end with weddings and the final choice if they say "yes" or leave the other standing at the altar. Kind of sad in some ways.. Since they do appear to connect without seeing each other, but the visual attraction/physical attraction almost always comes into play. Everyone is pretty average/above average looking. I've yet to see a man or woman that is really ugly or super fat. I'd never do anything like this.

Food is ridiculously expensive, don't you think??
TheNewGirl replied to peenie's topic in The Geek Club
Where are your berries coming from? Even if you have local farms, produce may not always come from the farm down the street. Add gas/trucking/importing fees to the prices of things. If the items you're buying are not in season or are being brought in from another location, then you will be paying for that as well. And yes, farmers are suffering. Their prices are going up as well; gas, water, utilities, labor, etc. And those increases get passed on down to us. -
We have two kitties and a dog Orange kitty girl - named "Little Kitty." Her vet paperwork says "Penny" but we all call her little kitty. Mainly because we hadn't had a kitten in like three years and she was SO tiny. She's orange, so she has an attitude. Hides in the closet in my office most of the work day, comes out when she hears my daughter's voice; she's basically her cat. All grey kitty boy named "Steve." Got him from a friend who lives on a farm and her cat got pregnant. Told her I wanted a girl kitty, got him home and over the course of the week we kept googling and realizing that it was a boy. He's okay. Sleeps under the bed most of the day and then comes out at night to sleep in the middle of the bedroom floor. Not super snuggly. Doggie is "Ruby." She's my 65 pound red fox lab. Best dog ever. Super smart; knows about 35 words. Doesn't always hear them, but for the most part she does. She's over 10 years old now, and thoughts of losing her break my heart. She's our first dog as a family, so I am sure it will be extra painful. But Lurch and the kids know that she's mine. She follows me around, looks for me when when I am not there, listens mostly to me when I give her commands, etc. Love her so much.

I didn't use the same site you did, but my natal chart is pretty spot on as well. I have an app that I check every once in a while that uses the natal chart to better "predict" astrology and that's kind of interesting/fun to use also. I don't really take a lot of this stuff SUPER seriously, but it's fun to read.

Trump signs an executive order to ban burning of the US flag

Las Vegas tourism slumps this summer, signaling trouble for U.S. economy
TheNewGirl replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
This is really the only way to do Vegas and pretty much what we do when we go there. ETA: The prices in Vegas have gone up exponentially. Paying to park AT the hotel you're staying at can be up to $50/night. Bottles of water are $15. Not to mention the price of food, events, cocktails, etc. It's no longer a place for families (not that it ever has been, but still). -
Ah, I will have to go check that out. I looked at the NASA site briefly, but didn't get a chance to read all of it. The "cloaked ship" thing just popped up on my social media and I got a kick out of that. Thought of Star Trek.

Is Donald Trump very sick? Whats with his hands?
TheNewGirl replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
This is funny. Because the four years that Biden was President, we heard nothing but the same sky screaming about Trump. Back in court for this, that and the other... "OH! WE GOT HIM NOW!!!!" Yeah, this whole, "Biden is gone." is just crap. -
Do you make small talk w the guy next to you at the urinal?

TheNewGirl replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
It's possible with the hands and swollen feet he has something; not sure if it's CHF, or maybe just good ol' diabetes or high blood pressure. At any rate, I'd take a president with heart failure than I would one that doesn't know what day it is. -
TEK is almost 67. Rusty is like 75 or something. Who is the oldest? And, what the fock are you doing here on this site all the time? Shouldn't you be out fishing or gardening or something?

Why Life May Not Be As Abundant As We Think
TheNewGirl replied to The Elevator Killer's topic in The Geek Club
That's why I said a consciousness as we know it as humans. We know whales have a consciousness; but even though their brains are larger, they have family units, and pods communicate differently; their consciousness is not like ours. Plants could be applied in this same way. -
Why Life May Not Be As Abundant As We Think
TheNewGirl replied to The Elevator Killer's topic in The Geek Club
Struggle for life, or struggle for survival? Or do you view these as the same thing? Animals, plants, flowers don't have a consciousness as we know it as humans. We wouldn't necessarily push a baby out of our "nest" because it was smaller than the others and we saw that it had a failure to grow and thrive. We have medical process to save babies that don't thrive, born with defects, or whatever. We can perform surgeries to save them. But even before we had these procedures, we recognized that a child wouldn't thrive, was born with a defect or whatever and do what we could. Animals operate on instinct alone. Cats and dogs recognize that they have a pup smaller than the rest. Why waste their bodily resources to feed it when the others are much stronger and have better chances of surviving? Male lions kill male cubs to ensure they have less competition. I tend to not look at this as brutality, but just nature. And while it's sad in some instances, it's essentially the survival of the fittest. And the effects that man has had on this can be the more brutal part. Many a species has gone extinct due to us. Now, if you want to get really brutal...if we were to live in a post-apocalyptic world - the sick, elderly, and very young are drains on limited resources like food, water. They are slower if you're on the move, loud, sometimes unable to understand basic direction. This is not good for a human race that is on the move or needs to move quickly. Which...is what used to happen when humans were trekking across the US to the west. The old, sick, and non-thriving young were left behind to fend for themselves. "The Indifferent Stars Above" is a great book about the Donner party and their survival (not just the cannibalism, but the people who got sick and injured along the way and were left behind). -
What's with the octopus? I've seen the reels of this ladyboy before. I think I am more disturbed by the really young kids going, "Follow me on Tik Tok!!!!"
