Top Biden aide admits to Congress she directed autopen signatures without knowing who gave final approval
TheNewGirl replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
I think this lady flat out saying she didn't know who authorized her to sign; she had limited contact from Biden and had NO idea where the approval came from is proof enough that there is a problem here. MY guess is that they picked someone that was kind of obscure, out there without many connections to Biden. The limited contact was a plus. So she signs something with the autopen and when she's asked questions there's a LOT of confusion. It's planned this way, IMO. If she were to KNOW who gave the authorization, they'd go right to that person and get answers. This way will remain unsure and take MUCH longer for committees to find out. -

They can't. If they denounce Hamas they will lose their "free Palestine" voters. -

You called me a liberal, that's pretty insulting. -

Yeah, I know. -

It's kind of sad that you don't find this an issue. For hypothetical purposes, I wonder what the reaction would be if Trump just randomly handed the autopen to people? I mean, this woman was an appointed aide; it'd be like Trump giving the autopen to Elon. -

The issue is that he's looking for statements like "I support Hamas!!!" When there is literally no politician that would come out directly and say that. Their actions and other statements put together will support that stance, but he won't believe it because they didn't "explicitly say." Tim is a Sith; only deals in absolutes. -

Thank you for not being insulting towards me. I've expressed my views many times about feminism and I do think it's done more harm than good in several areas; putting women into our work force after WW2 had many detrimental effects and is just one example, IMO. -

I think highly encouraging people to be in the military for one year would be good. Even the British royals are encouraged to serve. -
Californians rejoice! You're getting more tax increases!!

July 1 they are also asking state workers to return to the office anywhere from 2 days to 5 days week. Along with this gas tax, dealing with childcare, and other expenses, a lot of families will not be doing well. State workers already make poverty level wages unless they are in executive or managerial positions. They say it's about the "EPA" and stuff and yet are asking thousands of people to begin commuting with not everyone having an electric car. Commute congestion with the freeway construction ALL around Sacramento is going to be a nightmare. -

Could be. My bet is still on old, rich, white dudes that just want their piece of the money and "running the country." Which all of them do terribly. -
Oh yeah, tons of homeless out in that area.

The absolute WORST thing for a depressive is to go out and drink. You're much more likely to commit suicide while drunk.
-
Go see him...find a way to be with him for a bit. Encourage him to talk to someone. Don't berate, call him stupid or call him selfish. Be as positive as you can about what he has to live for. Most of the time, suicide is seen as just a way for the pain to end, and that it's the only option. From his perspective, the pain will be gone, along with all the worry, stress, thinking about stuff, etc. He's probably telling himself that his kids will be okay and all of that. And they won't be, it's something that they won't get over. Ever.

Old Sac is good, you'll find a lot of stuff to do there.

Yeah, I don't think that's the problem. When the majority of our leaders on both sides have been rich, old, white men...something tells me that it's not the women involved. -
Our airport is kind of in the middle of a HUGE field, so if you get a hotel near the airport, the only thing you'll have to do is walk around that area. You can go into North Natomas, which is the closest city. They will have restaurants and stuff there. But might be a little drive.

America’s Ammo Factories Enter Wartime Mode, Aiming for 100,000 Shells Monthly
TheNewGirl replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
IMO, we need more. A million shells really isn't that much considering the size of our military. Perhaps we need to send in "mental health" soldiers first like folks want us to do with police officers? -

We don't need to be "at war" to replenish anything military related. If that's the case why did we continue to build military guns, ships, jets after WW2. Technically, we haven't been "at war" since WW2. Could you imagine if we didn't build anything new or replenish stuff since 1941? Our military would suck ass right now. -
I am not really worried right now. However, I think it's funny when threads like this come up when they are two years old. Like...do people just sit around and search for threads like this? Had this thread lived rent free in folks heads for two years? What sparks that "Hey, I need to bump that draft thread" need? I am posting it in this thread because of course it's here, but it happens ALL the time with other threads too, something YEARS old gets bumped...who remembers that someone posted about a certain subject YEARS later? Anyways, I am not currently worried about the draft, but we will see as time goes on. My MIL is worried and has told me, "We can't let them take our boy." My son is 23 next month.

I am waiting to go back and listed to trial one and then stuff on trial two. Hopefully some podcaster out there makes a long series on this

Dude. This is seriously worse than the political garbage.

Whew! I get a day off of work tomorrow, took Friday off too. Nice long weekend. Thanks, Biden!
