Supreme Court rules President is immune for “official acts”

I think you and I actually agreed on this some years back. The Dems kept trying to push all this stuff forward, not recognizing that it would indeed come back to shoot them in the foots. And now here we are.

Supreme Court rules President is immune for “official acts”

This is their MO. Goes against their decisions and they just want them removed. Trump's impeachments that cost who knows how much over the last four years and have essentially done nothing, getting rid of House Speakers, and now impeachment of SCOTUS.

[** Official President Joe Biden Thread **]

Welp, if Newsome replaces him then y'all DEF get what you voted for. You think CA is a shiitehole, just watch what happens to the rest of the nation. Can't wait to hear about how the rest of the gas prices catch up! $6/gallon for all of us.

    June 27 Presidential debate

Yes, it does. If corporations are spending more in taxes, they increase their prices to their customers to make up for that; they don't increase wages as quickly, their share holders don't get as much, and their earnings aren't as high, they do what they can to avoid those taxes. Higher corporate taxes very rarely do what people think they will do which is stick it "to the man" but it really hurts the workers and consumers. Cut those taxes and they may be more likely to increase wages, lower prices, and increase economic activity.

    June 27 Presidential debate

There is also some speculation that he did have an ear piece and that's why he kept fiddling with his ears, also kept looking off to the side, like someone in the wings was watching or something. I thought maybe the CNN folks were off to the side, but they appeared to be directly in front of both of them. So when he'd do that wide-eyed "HUH?!" and look over to the left, it was like he was looking at someone else. Just odd. But yeah, several media outlets have commented on how Biden was given a week to "prepare" and "go over questions" and things like that, I found that interesting.

Terry Shiavo? Is that you? Might as well vote for her at this point.
  8. I support this. Can't remember which protest it was, but I watched on live TV as some people decided to march from downtown Sacramento/the Capitol to Interstate 5 during rush hour and literally jump into the freeway. People going upwards of 70 miles an hour, coming to a sudden stop, truckers, commuters, everyone. It was a nightmare, and someone could have been killed. There was a mob of people blocking the freeway. I am of the mind that if there is an ambulance trying to get through and some group is blocking the way and someone needs immediate medical attention I think that those in that crowd should be charged with manslaughter or second degree murder if that individual dies; OR they should be subject to a portion of their medical bills. Blocking roadways and freeways doesn't prove anything, IMO. Stand on the side of the road, let people get to where they need to go. You can protest just fine without causing people trouble.

    Pearl Jam

Not me. I've never been a fan of them or Eddie Vedder. Not that he's not talented or anything, just never really got into them. I did like Nirvana's Nevermind, but in HS I found I liked Alice in Chains, STP more in terms of the grunge bands.
  10. My cousin is a K9 officer, has two dogs. And they are literally your partners. I cannot imagine an officer doing this.
  11. How many of the 3,678 surgeries between ages 12–18 were of the genitals? According to the report, “405 patients (11.0%) aged 12 to 18 years underwent genital surgery.” I suspect — hope — that most of these were age 18, but surely not all. If I am right, that means at least some minors have had their genitals destroyed, rendering them infertile and almost surely incapable of orgasm for the rest of their lives 11% of those 12 to 18 years had genital surgery, not sure how else you'd interpret them getting parts removed or added, but they did include 12 year olds in that for a reason. If there were ZERO, then they would have said 13 to 18, or 14 to 18, correct? Genital surgery means the addition of some kind of penile implant or the removal of the and creation of a vagina. Sorry if you can't see that out of their 48000 something sample that there were teens who had genital surgery; among those are 12 and 13 year olds.

    Project 2025

No that's not what I am saying. I think the current admin could do the same, honestly. the number of people coming into our border without being properly vetted is frightening; they aren't all from South American countries or Mexico, they are coming from everywhere. We know this, they are coming from countries that hate us with a passion. The anti-semitism shown at rallies and parades right now is very very frightening, not just because of what they are doing, but because they aren't afraid to disrupt the daily lives of students, families, and politics. We know about past wars being started with just one shot, and it scares me to think that's how the next one will be. I think it will be at an event like this, and these small sleeper cells will suddenly make themselves known, and they will be in places that we never expected. And no one will be safe Sorry if that sounds alarmist or whatever, but I think that there are just too many people that are brushing this kind of crap aside. Too focused on abortions and transexual rights to really be paying attention to things that are going on. In the long run, those things really aren't going to matter. And neither will this Project 2025 crap, or 2030 or 2035 or whatever the other "projects" are.

    Project 2025

I really don't believe in anything that goes against the Constitution, since I think that's what our country was founded on, really. Anything that gives one branch power over the others is wrong; and I really don't believe that much in the use of EO's outside the event of an emergency, wartime, or catastrophic event. But things like using them to forgive student loans? Crock of shiite. They aren't meant to be used like that, IMO. Putting things back to states rights? Yes. I think the Federal govt should have limited power, states need to have their own laws/constitutions and the federal govt is over that, making sure nothing is against the constitution. So, from the sounds of it, this project sounds like a load of garbage. I just can't imagine anyone "allowing" a POTUS just doing it. Seems like he/she'd have to go through an awful lot to make it happen....but given how these days POTUS throw around EO's signing to undo what the previous guy did, signing shiiite to just do it for more voters, I just don't know anymore. Lots of stuff is happening that just shouldn't. On BOTH sides (before anyone decides to argue).

Since I am usually lumped in with the Magamooks, I will say I do not support this. Some of it? Perhaps, I didn't read it. But I am sure it has at least one or two things I'd agree with.

  20. At the risk of sounding incredibly crass, I have to wait until some family members are no longer around. There's no way I can move until then.
  21. We also increased the tax on those items, so now you're paying up to 25% between state and federal taxes when you purchase items in CA; guns, ammo, etc. So, if people want to own firearms (which is their right), and they don't want to be taxed to the focking grave, yeah, they are going to drive to the nearest state and get them. CA is kind of shooting themselves in the foot (pun intended) by trying to prevent additional sales by increasing tax. We're sick of being taxed here for everything.

  24. They *kind of* do this when they talk about monotheism, atheism, polytheism if kids are learning about things like Greek/Roman gods, etc. Of course they don't specifically call out Allah, Yaweh, God/Jesus/Holy Spirit, but they do talk about those different religions and beliefs. At least they did when I was in school, but I imagine times have changed quite a bit.
  25. It's already happening at the border, fools.
