Sotomayor overwhelmed by demanding SCOTUS workload: ‘I live in frustration’

They shouldn't be activists anyways. -
[** Official President Joe Biden Thread **]
TheNewGirl replied to Rusty Syringes's topic in The Geek Club
Of course they are. He's sending them TRILLIONS of dollars. -
More reasons for them to start going after farmers. Farming is already tough (I have family that are farmers).

What was the speed limit at the time of the crash? 50mph seems a little much for a residential or even a city street. I think around here residential areas are 35 or 25 around schools. Highway limit is between 65 and 55...50 seems like a lot.

I read this as "Tranny is closing in." Too many threads around here about transpeople. UGH. In terms of the OP, I can see this happening. Anywhere they (both teams) can bring money in, they will. Climate change. Carbon footprints. I recently saw an article about home-gardens causing more of a carbon foot print than larger farms. Pretty soon, we will have collective farms with plenty of cheap workers.

What should we do about the drone attack in Jordan?
TheNewGirl replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I have liberal friends who literally lost sleep over this, convinced that we were launching into WW3 because of Trump. Didn't happen. And yet with Biden, here we are with Ukraine, Hamas, Houthis, etc etc etc. It would be perfect timing for a terrorist attack here in the US, really. -
That's a great movie, I loved it.

Next you're going to start asking us what street we lived on as a child or our mother's maiden name. -
Have we talked about American Nightmare on Netflix?
TheNewGirl replied to tubby_mcgee's topic in The Geek Club
Yes. I remember when this happened, but I'd forgotten about most of it, until I started watching. I do recall hearing Aaron and thinking the same thing, no WAY he was lying about what happened. This video of her walking to her parents was a little weird, but I didn't think she was lying either. -
Gilda. For more Neo-noir, I'd probably go with stuff by David Lynch like Fire Walk with Me possibly Blue Velvet. Tarantino has an air of film noir/neo noir with this storylines and femme fatales, etc. My favorite of his is Death Proof.

Very serious grown up activity. Rusty edition.

Grown up and Rusty in the thread title is an oxymoron. -
Yes, or their "same day" deliveries do not arrive on the same day. I've had this happen several times. They used to offer you some kind of credit when this happened; or extend your prime membership out a month for free, etc. Not anymore. They don't offer anything that I know of, unless you take the time to reach out to customer service and all of that.

So no trans-females for you? Even if they had bottom surgery and have a place to put it?

That's 3rd Century Santa. I want 21st Century Santa proof.

I can agree with this. -
Are transsexuals kind of choosing? They only have two choices. Boy or girl. Right? I mean, you have the other identities like pan, omni, asexual. But those really aren't "gender." You truly are either a boy or a girl. If you identify as "pan" it doesn't change the appendage or lack thereof. Were you born as "pan" but have boy parts? That's fine. But it still doesn't change the parts you were born with; in terms of that there are only two choices. I have no dog in this fight, I don't really care much who focks who where or when. But the language and semantics of it all kind of makes me sigh heavily.

I am sorry to hear that, I feel bad for his daughter as well. I hear you on losing people. Was recently mentally going through a list of friends from high school and how many of us (age 47/48) have lost our moms. It used to seem like men passed away first, shorter life span but this list of friends losing mothers first just seems odd to me. Friends too. I mean, most of mine are mid 40s to mid 50s. Kind of hitting that age where some of us go early.

You have proof of Santa?! LINK?! OMG!!!!

True story. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago, I had a fever the night before of around 100.6. I'd had a long running cold that suddenly turned feverish and I wanted to be checked for pneumonia. Sitting in his office WEARING A MASK, he literally said: "You had a fever last night? Less than 24 hours ago?" "Yes." "I need to leave the exam room, and put on PPE. I will call you from my office down the hall and do all of the intake, so we spend less time in the confined room together. I know you have a mask on, but they don't work much. To be fully covered and safe, you'd have to wear the N95." I was literally wearing the masks they offer IN the doctors office. He went to his office, called me, did the 15 to 20 minute intake. Came in, did the physical exam (this time wearing additional covering and a plastic face mask over his N95). This is my primary care physician through my HMO, not anyone new.

Semantics. We cannot usually choose our sexual attraction or orientation; we are born with this. However, I can choose to sleep with either sex; I just choose one over the other because I am less inclined to sleep with another woman. You always have the CHOICE to sleep with another man, you just choose NOT to because it's not your orientation.

The U.S. national debt is at $34,135,530,482,291 and rapidly growing

Most men are misogynists, IMO. It's not a big deal to me, I am not a feminazi. I think one of the biggest changes in our country (and not necessarily the best) was women being added to the work force after WW 2. Family relationships changed drastically having two parents working, children's lives changed, etc. I am more a fan of somewhat traditional roles, but I am also pretty independent for a woman - I'd prefer to learn to do things myself than rely on a man. Most men only use women for pleasure, for a nurse, or a purse. But, I also love men. I have been happily married for almost 25 years - I'd never get married again though. LOL And I do agree that Biden is an old dementia patient. That's not why I am not voting for him though, although it is a pretty good reason. -

I am not a hypocrite. I've said FOREVER that I will vote for Trump again (or whomever ends up on the Republican ticket). I have never been a hypocrite on what my voting is and I've said a BAZILLION times that I am a one issue voter. I live in a blue state, and will mostly vote red, against increases in taxes. But there are some things that will increase taxes that I will vote yes on. I read my little pamphlets and booklets on the different issues we vote on locally, down to our City Council level. I don't vote on the character of a person, this is also well known. All politicians are sociopaths. They all lie, they are all terrible people. I don't vote how I FEEL. I've always been incredibly open and honest with how I vote. I voted for Obama's second term, so it's not completely off the table to vote blue for me. Worms is a misogynist because of his posting history and what he posts about women. -
Pretty sure people have a choice who they sleep with...otherwise isn't that r@pe?

I just laugh at the fact that you think I am an "extremist." But that's okay, I don't really care what you think Worms. I think you're a left wing misogynistic pig. -
