Leftists not only do you have mental health problems so do your children

Wait, what? Yes. Yes you do. -

So I can really only comment on this anecdotally. Of my liberal friends, I am aware that their children are in therapy and have been for some time. Each one has some kind of mental illness diagnosis; depression, anxiety, one was genderfluid for a time. My friend with four kids, each one in therapy, even the 9 year old. She's the one who stayed in bed for a week when Trump won, and is constantly worrying about the politics of the world, not sure what she'll do if Trump wins again. Of my conservative friends, none of their children are in therapy. Even the lesbian couples I know with children, none have a therapist. Even in my family, none of the conservative voters are in therapy. Just me, but that's because my mom is dying. Again, only my personal anecdotal experience, but it sure seems true. -
No.

I remember years ago when people here talked about that function, they couldn't believe some people just couldn't "scroll past" or something like that. Like, some how you were a weak or bad person because you had to use that function. I have 5 Geeks on my ignore list; a couple are from years and years ago but obviously I haven't missed them. What say you about the ignore function? Poosays use it? Or it's been a godsend?

Do you really use the "Ignore User" function?

This. I have one alias I created about two years ago for a very specific reason/poster. I've used it 5 times and forgotten the email and password and I think the poster has been banned, or I haven't seen him in a long time. (I think I told you @OldMaid what it was). Other than that, it's not like I CARE people make tons of accounts, I just don't see the point of it when it's used for the reasons you mentioned. -
Even Costco gas, which is allegedly cheaper is $4.09 here in my city.

You don't live in a blue state. 1 gallon of store brand 1% milk - $4.18 18 cage free (because that's all they have) store brand eggs - $6.07 4 sticks butter - $6.28 1 gallon of gas at the gas station less than a mile from my house - $4.29

Have we talked about the Epstein Island list?

I kind of wonder if any of these powerful guys said, "Hey Jeff. Um. You know if shiiite ever goes down, we've gotta kill you, right?" My money would be on the Clinton's murdering him in his cell. -

Children need to feel safe to be vulnerable and talk about thoughts and feelings. Done correctly, therapists are literally trained on how to do this. It can take a long time for anyone to feel comfortable talking to a therapist, even adults. Crap, it took me a long time to try and find a new one after a previous one retired. These kids have to feel like they are safe, someone is listening, someone cares about them. There really is a psychology to this, and if you can address those thoughts and issues BEFORE little Johnny goes and grabs his dad's gun, or stabs his 1st grade teacher, then maybe there is hope. Thing is that if the therapist/counselor SEES an issue that needs to be further addressed, then it needs to be addressed. That's where the parents having an issue with it would likely put a stop to it. MANY parents don't want to hear that their kid has mental issues, because it shows that there was something that parent did "wrong." -

Good points. I also never understood the "report" feature, and have never used that. Or people who create multiple multiple user names, just to troll. It makes NO sense to me. -

Right? Anyways, I thought addressing mental health in schools was a great idea. Now, it seems that it's only addressed when the child has some kind of behavioral issue; one of my friends is an elementary school counselor. She really only sees the kids that have an IEP or something like that. Addressing the classroom as a whole, or every kid individually just seems like we could get a little control or address issues before they start. -
Why hasn't he done anything about these? I am asking honestly, because he was able to Exec Order and reverse so many other things.

It's about having money and power, not that normal stuff is boring. Many of these guys had marriages, children, and your usual heteronormative relationship. But, money and power will get you almost anything. And if you have a "buddy" who says, come visit my island, tons of hot chicks, a few underage, but whatever...I mean, these men really figure that they are untouchable because of how much money and power they have. Why don't you see any poor or powerless on the list? Why don't you see the neighborhood pedo, or the guy who fishes for younger kids online going to stuff like this? No money. No power. -

There's a lot more to being mentally healthy than transgenderism, but you can't seem to let go of that. -

I think this could be something great for schools. I remember when I was in elementary school, we'd have a dentist come into class and teach proper brushing and tooth/oral hygiene. And you went home with a free toothbrush. Mental health would of course need to be something more than once every few months, but even a once a week lesson from a licsenced child therapist or something to help kids with emotional regulation, coping skills, etc would be helpful. And, they wouldn't be there to diagnose, but to help kids. -

I really hope that they tell the truth about Columbine if they are going to use it. Kleblod and Harris WERE the bullies; they were not bullied. Their whole "we were bullied" garbage was debunked over 10 years ago and there've been plenty of documentaries, studies and other research done on this incident. https://www.npr.org/transcripts/103287016 -

Transgender. Genderfluid. So, instead of just picking the "other" gender, they kind of float between whatever they feel like that day? Sounds LGBTQ+ to me. I dunno. -
We need to have a national conversation about the radicalization of LGBTQ youth.
TheNewGirl replied to Cdub100's topic in The Geek Club
I really think we need more information about what the treatments and hormones do 10 to 20 years down the line, as well as what transgender surgeries look like and the maintenance required. What will these folks look/be like in their 70s and 80s still needing all of this care and the costs associated with it? I'd also like to see more from people who transitioned and regret it; I've seen a few stories/interviews and they are quite interesting. Not to try and sway people from having the gender affirming care, but just to get the whole picture of what this can mean for some people. I am not sure a "national" conversation is needed, what topics would you see on that agenda? -

https://fairplayforwomen.com/transgender-male-criminality-sex-offences/ There are studies that show that trans women (male to female) still have the same rate of violence than their cis-gender counterparts. So, just because you're a dude taking hormones doesn't mean that your violent streak goes away. Nearly 50% of transgender female prisoners have also been convicted of at least one sexual offense. So, being trans-female doesn't seem to help r@pe stats either. Just saying. of course this study applied to individuals already in prison, but I can't imagine that the non-prison population would be different, they just haven't been caught yet. So, does being trans make you violent? Perhaps not, but it certainly doesn't make it "better." -

1. In CA it's easy, or other places? 2. I don't think it's like arming schools, I don't think that's a great idea. I'd be really interested in seeing studies of states that have fewer gun control laws, open carry etc and see what their stats look like. Not saying that they'd be better or worse, just what the numbers actually show. Anyways, I am just not always for "more gun control" because it's criminals who do this stuff, law abiding citizens are punished with more gun control. Criminals don't give a fock about laws, esp when they are arrested and let back out right away. -

So California just had some new laws start up on 1/1 regarding gun control. You can no longer concealed carry into places like movie theaters, schools, libraries, and a few other places. These are the places that *typically* get shooters. Now, these locations are even LESS protected by randoms with their legally obtained CCW license to try and fight back. Not sure if that means it's more or less safe. I know that putting up "GUN FREE ZONE" signs really seems to help, those are usually around schools. (sarcasm) -
My doctors office actually always had rules about mask wearing if you had an active cough, fever, or runny nose, esp in pediatric offices. Now, I ask my doctor/therapist if they'd like me to wear a mask, since they almost always have them on. They leave it up to me to keep it on.
