Obama fantasized about men : AKA Bathhouse Barry
TheNewGirl replied to HellToupee's topic in The Geek Club
I think a lot of men fantasize about sex with other men. Very few of them will actually admit it tho. -
Don't you hire illegal immigrants? Do you hire any homeless veterans?
-
Used to?
-
When these stores are gone, they will come into people's homes.

I actually think I voted for Kanye. I am also in a blue state so it didn't matter.

Dang reading that reminded me of some of the spicy Tok reels I see. Also, meh. They've all focking done it. Clinton rocked b*tches in the Oval Office, along with Kennedy and probably countless others. I guess I'd like to think that if an employer did this to me, or asked me to work naked, I'd quit. I don't really care how much money it was or whatever...I'd do what I could without selling myself out like this. This woman had choices too...what he did was 1000% wrong (if he did it). But she also had choices too.

Would any of you let Joe Biden babysit your kid?
TheNewGirl replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
No. -
Yeah, no assisted living for these guys. Private nurses.
-
The real question is.... Do I send this to my super liberal friend who is going through a divorce right now and trying to get back pay from her ex? I mean, she IS voting for these people who are introducing these laws.
-
Not sure why this would matter, Biden has made some incredibly racist comments in his years.
-
He is? We know this for sure? You'll vote for Biden again regardless. He could shiiite his pants live on TV and you'd still be okay with him running the focking country.
-
Eagerly? Not even with a smidge of doubt, or worry? The fact that you'd EAGERLY vote for him again is sad esp given how the last three years have gone and considering his mental faculties.
-
No, I wouldn't "obey" govt orders. But also kind of depends on the overreach they'd try - fines? Prison time? I DO think that others would listen, tho - the same ones that were too afraid to go anywhere during Covid.
-
Sigh. Again, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO ANY OF THEM.

Also this. I find movies to be boring whole just because it's the same stuff over and over again. Or the remakes of older movies. It's tiring. And if I am going to spend the money to GO to movie, it needs to be worthwhile, IMO. Esp if I can rent it, or even BUY it off of a streaming service. Buying the movie at $20 is still cheaper than going to a theater; even if the movie sucks. Most of the time, we wait until it hits $4.99 to rent at home, which most of the time isn't a long wait. So many are available to stream right away.

I don't know it's true that the female leads can never be seen as weak. WW shows weakness when the guy she realizes that she loves died; she has a weakness for the people she must protect because "they also love." or something like that, I can't remember the line. But she takes that weakness and turns it into anger/strength to fight Ares. Captain Marvel is another story, because I DO think that it's true that she can't show weakness, and really comes off as c*cky in the movie; there's a scene when she's with the Avengers (I think it's End Game) and has this, "Who the fock is this guy?" attitude to a group of people she just met. I actually don't like that about her character at all. It's possible that male leads are allowed to have more of an arc because that shows that they can go outside the typical gender roles and still be tough. If female leads had a character arc to start, they'd show them as the typical wife, mom, taking care of everyone else, etc. Because there are so few character arcs for women that DON'T have that, if it makes sense. They can't have WW start off as a homemaker with kids, because really? She's going to go fight crime and take down criminals with kids at home? The ONLY movie I can think of off of the top of my head that actual does this is True Lies; but that's only AFTER Jamie Lee Curtis is kind of forced into becoming a spy and even then thinks it's a joke the whole time. I don't think strong female leads "pander" to anyone, at least not to me. I enjoy a good action movie, and would prefer to see men in those roles. But I like me a good strong alpha male too, so maybe that's it. I saw WW because I LOVED her growing up. I saw Captain Marvel because she was part of the whole Marvel universe and I MUCH expected more of a WW character (I didn't like Captain Marvel, Black Widow, or ANY of those at all). Maybe that's why I prefer the male leads, the comment about her being strong, staying strong and having to fight evil. There's nothing that she really "overcomes" to get there. male characters often have to overcome something. Even Luke Skywalker had to overcome learning who daddy was. Rei...meh. Maybe when she learned she was part Sith.

Also true.

Democracy and republic are not interchangeable terms: The framers did not consider democracy and republic to be synonymous. While they believed in democratic principles, they also recognized the importance of a republican form of government. In a republic, the power rests with the people who elect representatives to make decisions on their behalf, whereas in a direct democracy, the people make decisions directly. We are a democratic republic. It's not a "one liner" that people toss around to suit them. It's the focking truth. We are NOT a direct democracy.

Lawsuit says police stood by for 13 minutes as her 30-year-old son drowned in the Tennessee River

Dogcows believes ACAB. No point in arguing with him in this thread; or any others for that matter. -

Of course there aren't any laws preventing people from jumping in the water. However, let's say four would-be good samaritans jump in, and now the cops have to rescue a total of five people from the river. -

Chinese Zoo claims star attraction is NOT man in bear costume
TheNewGirl posted a topic in The Geek Club
This is funny: https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/chinese-zoo-denies-allegations-star-attraction-is-a-man-in-a-sun-bear-costume?utm_campaign=stfb&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR229UuujTCt77SiZkrtscKc0-oJWJ0XCt98NLg0wBQupdxbHaIG19uTB10 They pointed to the bear’s human-like movements while standing and waving, and also what appeared to be pants-like folds around its rear when standing. -
I can't even. Gift cards aren't going to make people quit meth.
