So to the bolded. I do think that some environmental policies are good. Consequences will happen and perhaps job opportunities. However. CA already struggles with its power grid. We have blackouts, brown outs, rolling black outs ever single summer. Some people have to get generators (but now they can't be gas powered - which if you have no electricity, then WTF? And solar? We ALL know that solar doesn't produce NEAR as much power as other options, but I digress). My in laws have a ranch/farm. The amount of food that was wasted during a random black out a few summers ago is just astounding. And the cost of buying a generator that CA approves of is just NUTS, it literally gives people ZERO choice on what they can do to stay afloat. And now they also want to take away gas stoves and other gas related household appliances. Electric vehicles get their own lane on the highways, and sure you can maybe find a charging station, but you can't go more than 300 miles...and if your charging station is solar, then you charge the car and drive at night? There are just too many "what ifs" that I think SOUND good, but the infrastructure and feasibility is just way too expensive to implement without jacking up taxes and gas prices. let's just say a state like Iowa suddenly decides to go green, how will farmers stay in business if they have to go solar, can't use gas powered equipment? They have yet to really build a cost-sound solar/green tractor that has a great ROI for a farmer. If they use gas powered, taxes will be jacked up so much that now gas is twice as much per gallon. Those costs will again be passed onto us; making our food even more expensive. It just doesn't make sense to pass these laws to save the ENTIRE planet, when other countries (like China) get to actually build MORE coal mines and facilities. I do believe in the environment and doing what we can to save and help it. But I think the ROI and expense is just TOO much for our society to handle. There are very few who can afford an electric car. And when that car battery dies, you have to get a whole new car. And the batteries are just thrown into the ocean or some ditch somewhere for the future to deal with. And Gavin an't that environmentally savvy when the state burns down every month and creates air that literally NO one can breathe. He's not that much into the environment. ETA: I actually think that if people want to see what the world will look like when the environmental or dem policies are put in to law, just look at CA. Sure people say that we are the 5th largest economy in the world. BUT...our homeless is out of control. Crime is horrid. And less than 30% of CA residents can actually afford to buy a home - and most are being priced out of their rentals. And it just keeps getting more expensive.

Adults shouting at children can be as harmful as sexual or physical abuse, study finds...

Yes, I agree with this as well. I am sure I yelled or shouted at my kids more than once when there was a clear danger (like something being hot). And I completely agree that verbal abuse comes in many different tones and volumes. -

Same. I was spanked with/without a belt or other item that was readily available. My dad would do the spanking/beating, but my mom would slap across the face if you smarted back. I remember one time, her wedding ring gave me a nice bruise on my jaw (I was around 19 when that one happened). I never spanked my kids. I swore that when I had kids I would never use that type of physical punishment or fear. Are they softer than other kids? Perhaps. But I also know that when I go to give them a hug, or if my hand raises up for any reason, they don't cower in fear. I remember my dad pushing back from the table to just get up, and my body's immediately response was to run or cower. It was frightening. I would have preferred being yelled at. -

Good! At lease Bart Simpson will be saved from a troubled adulthood: https://people.com/the-simpsons-homer-promises-not-to-strangle-bart-8391071 -
He's just incredibly power hungry. He signed and implemented several executive orders that really should have gone through our voting process, and left CA in a "state of emergency" nearly a year after all states were done. He meets with foreign leaders (China) and makes deals with them (masks back when CoVid started, and it cost millions to us). He just never makes decisions that are good for ALL, he's only concerned with himself. He was actually sued for abuse of power and lost. I am not even counting during CoVid how his children were still able to go to school, he still went to $$ restaurants, while lay people were getting fined and losing their businesses. He's cheated on his previous and current wives. He also has a history of alcohol and drug abuse, and rehab (although he claims he never went to rehab, it was reported for over 10 years that he did...but when running for Gov he claimed it wasn't true). He allegedly was also going to move into a high scale neighborhood (this is near me, so I heard plenty about it). When the people who live in the neighborhood found out, they apparently discussed it with the sellers realtor and complained quite a bit - no one wants him in their neighborhood. Gavin only loves and cares about Gavin. Sadly, I believe people will vote for him. Nancy and Kamala drove SF and other beautiful CA cities into the ground with open air drug use, cr@pping in the streets, homeless camps allowed on neighborhood sidewalks, etc. And people still vote for them. Gavin will be no different. And you think that gas prices and taxes are high now - wait until the entire nation is paying CA prices. People in the midwest with their $3.00/gallon gas won't be able to do anything when it's $6.00/gallon like it is here. And it WILL happen - all of our environmental and "green" laws we have here that push gas tax up and up - and they can raise it at ANY time without a vote. I can't caution people enough to not vote for him; but elections have consequences. And the whole money/power/wildfire thing that happened? Yeah. Gavin could have done a LOT more before entire cities were lost during CA wildfire season. You need to look into the political action committees that own Gavin and their involvement in our power grid.

Transgender Slaughters 3 Kids and 3 Adults at Christian Elementary School in Nashville

So stating the obvious is pedantic? It was asked if "gender" is on a cert. It is not. I have mine sitting here in front of me and it has a field for "sex." Sex is not gender. Sex is biology. Gender takes into account behaviors and/or identities. This isn't pedantic. -

You really shouldn't call them trannies. It's extremely derogatory -

I really hope you're being sarcastic. I am not transphobic. I believe in science, but I also believe that transgendered individuals can call themselves what they'd like and live how they want. -

Yes, however it was asked if "gender" was on a cert. No, it says sex. Because in our human biology we are binary. Only two sexes exist and that's determined by the sex organs that are present at birth. Gender is a social construct. If you have more than one sex present at birth (which happens but is rare) you're determined as "intersex" but I imagine parents have to choose what goes on the cert itself. This isn't that difficult, it's biological science; we are a binary mammal. -

The statement made by police doesn't say that, tho. "it's unclear of their gender" ok "assigned female at birth" ok "shooter used male pronouns" ok Doesn't say anything about being assigned a gender. -

I saw a recent study stating that up to 50% of transgender individuals also have a substance abuse problem/addiction. Mostly alcohol and/or opioids. 50%. Normal population is around 20%. -
