Rumors of a police coverup, saying that she ran over him in her car, etc. I just started watching the documentary, but I understand she's still on trial. Anyone following this? What are your thoughts?

What is it? My most recent favorite theory/assumption/conspriacy is that it's some kind of cloaked alien space ship. Thoughts?

Any of you married geeks ever participate in swinging or swapping (soft swapping included)? Do you think couples who do this have chances of being together longer/shorter than couples who don't do this? Is it kind of just an open invite to cheat? Other thoughts? The two couples I know that did this ended up divorced. They weren't all swinging together, they were two separate couples, but I thought it odd their marriages suffered the same fate. So, I am curious if its inevitable that couples who do this just don't last.

If I were to guess, I'd say that it's a little different for Afghan refugees to get SNAP than others. The USA had and still has a plan for the Afghan refugee crisis that occurred during Desert Storm. Their country has had over 40 years of conflict, and they helped us out GREATLY with translators and other functions. Are Afghans taking advantage? Probably not since they likely still use the Afghan Refugee programs. Do others take advantage? Absolutely. Not sure using Afghan Refugees who already have a program in place is the best example of people taking advantage.

If you are disabled and cannot work and have dependents, just prove it...and you'll keep your SNAP. If I apply for unemployment with the state of CA, I have to prove weekly that I am looking for a job. Including creating an account on the state's career finder site that posts state jobs. If I don't do that, then I will get a call that my benefits are done. Why is it so hard or unreasonable to hold people accountable?

This bill shifts billions in wildfire costs to California tax payers and rate payers, basically a "secret" bailout. Gavin did the same thing with Nor Cal and Pacific Gas and Electric after the Paradise fire, along with the others that burned thousands of acres in the Sierra's. Some PGE customers have bills that went from $100/month to over $500/month after they passed their expense onto rate payers. Guess who Gavin's biggest donors are? Edison and PGE. No Kings, right guys?

This. I had typed out the story of a friend of mine, but deleted it. My friend found out that she was pregnant, went and got a scan and they told her that the baby wasn't viable. They saw the sac, saw "something" but didn't think it was a baby. They'd recommended a D&C, or she could wait it out to see if she miscarried naturally. She scheduled the D&C for about a week later, but the morning of the procedure, she asked for another scan. They found that she did have a baby in there, had a heartbeat, etc. The baby was born 100% healthy and is now 9 months old. My BFF has a son with Downs. He's the happiest kid/adult I've ever met. I couldn't imagine not knowing him, so I am sure she feels exactly the same. And plenty of people with Downs have larger health problems; usually heart and stomach issues, so I'd wager that people suggest aborting in those situations as well. Doctors make mistakes. Fock, even my OWN doctor told me for MONTHS that my son was head down and ready to go. Turns out he'd actually been breech for awhile and I needed a C-section. (I am not a big person and he was a pretty decent sized baby, so it's likely I wouldn't have been able to have natural CB anyways).

My opinion is that these parents chose what was right for them. Pro-choice or pro-life, it's not my position to judge someone here. This situation is incredibly painful.

People's house = people are actually upset that tax dollars aren't being spent on this? Seriously? They'd feel better if their tax dollars went to this? FFS. Let him use his own money for this. Obama put in a basketball court using tax dollars...seems like that would get less use from these aging old white men than a ballroom.
