I am not a big fan of Jennings this year. I don't think he'll suck and be terrible ... but I think his floor is lower and his ceiling limited with Finley around. Much has been said about the difference in targets/receptions of Jennings with and without Finley in the lineup. That said ... Mendenhall for Jennings is a reasonable offer. I would never give up Charles for Jennings. That's just lunacy.

Do I do this trade. It's a PPR and bonus points for 40+yrd TD's (rush/rec). I get: DJax + Daniel Thomas He gets: Turner + Jacquzzi Rogers I have Reggie Bush, and he has Jason Snelling ... so we're both cuffed. Problem is I already have Maclin ... that caps the upside of both DJax and Maclin. I don't know ... I want to take this trade, but I don't know if I should. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

I've used yahoo for a long time. I do have the issue of losing connection with the draft room. I did an auction last night and I was unable to bid a few times ... which was probably a good thing after paying $51 for Ray Rice LOL ... I've started to migrate the leagues I run to ESPN because I don't have these issues there and I prefer their ability to do true blind bidding FAAB (as opposed to yahoo's hybrid system without ability to customize it). The only reason I still host some leagues on yahoo is because they allow me to do a straight points only non-h2h league. (I real benefit to owners who get upset at losing in the playoffs to a lucky week or something ... haha ... PM me, I've got some openings in a league!).

I guess it depends on the league rules. Many keepers make it that if you keep a player, you lose a draft position relative to where they were taken. That way people aren't taking all the promising young rookies in the first few rounds. Some keepers/dynasty leagues have rules where rookies have to be taken in the first few rounds. If there are no keeper rules like this or it's a dynasty league, the reasoning is you get to keep the player longer if they are younger. If they are reasonably happy with their team/current players, then there's even more incentive to start building your future. I wouldn't have a problem with those particular reaches especially since people think big things for them this season ... even if they haven't played yet. In one of my keepers, one of my backs is Sjax ... he's starting to get on in years. I might try to lock up an ingram or something early too because I'm satisfied with my team as it is and need to start building for my future. I think a lot of it has to do with the rules, settings and the number of players that can be kept.

I agree, intervening during the draft is not the way to go. One step I take are to make my phone# available. That way if they get booted from the draft they can call me to let me know and I can at least pause. Or if they are going to be late or not make it you can make arrangements. And also get their ph# too so you can call and see if they're not going to make it or bailing all together. If they are a no-show. I try to tap all resources ASAP. Usually I want to see everyone in the draft room 10 minutes prior. If not, I put a message on the message boards, talk to friends and see if anyone can take over the draft spot. Sometimes delaying the draft 10-15 minutes to ensure it's filled. Most people don't have an issue with that. If it's a money league, well, that player should have paid up prior to the draft ... and in that case, letting the system autodraft is OK. Also, as others have mentioned, you should send out an email to the league mentioning any changes you make to the league settings to combat these absent owners (ie position limits ... because presumably they affect them too). Most draft bots are reasonable nowadays though ... unless it's an auction. Also, I make all my leagues a decent amount of money so people feel a little more obligation to show up (min $150). Since I moved from $50 to $150 I have never had a no show. NEVER INTERVENE WITH ANY SETTINGS ONCE THE DRAFT HAS STARTED! ... this can only lead to animosity, complaints, bad blood and owners that will rally against you and sabotage your efforts in the future. Once the draft has started, the season has started ... any rule or setting changes should be discussed by the league and, if approved, applied to the following year.

People are believing in him because: #1 all the targets should turn into catches (and yards) ... in theory #2 led the team in receptions last year ... regardless of who they brought in, they will use this kid as their #1 #3 people are believing in Bradford this year as a sleeper #4 a young WR and a young QB are a year older and a year better, so again, in theory, there should be an improvement. #5 can't really do much worse than the 3 scores he got last year lol However, you are right ... this may not justify a high ranking. But people WILL pay for high upside. And they do. It's called hype. In a draft you may have to reach if you want him. In an auction you may have to spend an extra buck or 2. He's worth whatever someone will pay for him.

Well, had my first auction of the season. It's a 12 teamer with an extra flex and 10 bench spots. It's PPR and 6 pts for passing td. 3 bonus points for each 100 yard rushing or receiving milestone (and 300 and 400 yrd passing) $200 cap. I know I overpaid for Rice, but when I underpaid my budget at QB by about 20$ I figured I could blow my wad in RB. I'm weak on the bench and on WR. I could have paid less for a good RB1 and spent more on WR, Flex or Bench, but thems the breaks. Here she is: QB: Peyton Manning - $15 RB1: Ray Rice - $51 (yeah, I know. too much) RB2: MJD - $33 WR1: Santana Moss - $13 WR2: Jeremy Maclin - $13 Flex1: Michael Turner - $30 Flex2: Hines Ward - $5 TE: Kellen Winslow - $7 K/DST - $2 total (who cares who they are) My Bench: Reggie Bush: $11 (I know ... I'm a sucker for this guy though. He'll be a stud for the weeks he actually plays) Mike Williams (Seattle) $6 Joe Flacco $5 - reasonable backup for the game(s) Manning will miss to start Rob Gronkowski $2 - took in case he's awesome again and backup Winslow Visanthe Shiancoe $2 - I thought Gronk and Winslow had the same bye, so thus is me trying to fix my eff-up. Ryan Torain, Derrick Mason, Jacquizz Rogers, Kevin Walter and Arrelious Benn $1 each Overall I don't think it's terrible. I think I'll be in trouble if injuries hit though. Your RB's are money and I like wallace The rest of your team is solid but not spectacular. but hey, it's a snake draft. can't win every pick. Not a big fan of your backups. If vick gets hurt you're not going to be starting young anyway ... he's that bad. I like Ochocinco this year ... could blow up huge. Overall, not bad.

I really hate your RB's and I don't like to carry 2 QB's in a 10 teamer. I feel you would have been better served picking a better RB1 instead of Jennings. I'm not big on him this year. Much has been said of the difference in targets and catches Jennings had last year when Finley was around vs. not around. Even without Jennings, I don't mind your WRs and Ward makes an excellent flex/bye week fill in (age and off-field issues be damned). In short, RB too shallow, WR too deep. Too many QB's. Make a trade. It's possible, but I don't see it a winning team in a 10 teamer.

I'd keep Welker and Gates. Moreno might get more carries .. but McGehee is going to be a vulture, big time. I dont' see him getting many TD's. I'd keep Welker in a PPR over Moreno ...50-60 catches? Try 30-40 (at least that's what he's done in his short career). That's not bad, but Mighty Mouse is going to get back on top this year. My feeling is that Moreno might be under appreciated enough that you could possibly re-draft him in your first round ... but everyone knows Welker's ability, he's not likely to get overlooked. If you know what's being thrown back into the free agent pool, you can make a better guess. But I'm going Welker and Gates ... and try to get better options to replace gates next year

I like your team ... a few things I would do differently though: QB: Roethlisberger/Stafford Really, you only need Big Ben. In a 10 team league I don't think a backup needs to be drafted especially with Pitt's bye in week 11. No need to worry. If stafford can impress, or someone is willing to trade pre-season, you might flip for an upgrade at RB2, you have some good receivers, package one+stafford and you'll get a great RB2. RB: Rice/Felix/Best/Hightower/McGahee/Harrison I like your mix. A lot of upside ... but a lot of risk with Felix/Best not being very durable. I like Hightower this year, but he hasn't shown me he can be counted on as an RB2 ... and in that offense ... and the whimsy of Shanahan who knows how many touches he'll get. WR:Megatron/Nicks/Boldin/Lance/Amendola LOOOOOOOOVE this group. Perfect blend of awesome, potential and sleeper. TE:Witten What more can you ask for? I'm not even going to rate the K/Def. You done good ... but it's hard to have a bad team in a 10 team draft. All that's needed is an upgrade at RB2 ...
