Big Playoff Play in Game - Need Help on WR2

I'm leaning Jones. Of course, I've been burned already by trying to start 3 different Chiefs this season!
  2. Interesting point. Based on that, I just checked the stats. . .over the past 4 weeks: VJ: 353 yards, 4 TDs AG: 262 yards, 3 TDs BL: 269 yards, 3 TDs Of course, VJ got all those yards and TDs in weeks 9 and 11 and did squat in weeks 10 and 12. Hm, I wonder if that means he's due this week? Lloyd and Gates have nearly identical stats. All three are facing tough defenses. Interestingly, Jacksonville has given up the 30th most points to WRs this season, but the 4th most points to TEs!

Win and I get the bye!

You wrote 1 pt. per 20 yards receiving, but your example shows 1 pt. per 10 yards receiving. Which is correct? If it's 1 pt. per 20 yards, I'd definitely go with McGahee. If it's 1 pt. per 10 yards, I'd probably still go with McGahee. NE's secondary is getting better and Garcon hasn't done much of value lately anyway. Would appreciate a post on my thread -- I'm shooting for a bye as well. Good luck!

    Lineup Help

I would go with Crabtree. It's not great but there's a good chance that NOBODY on KC will find the end zone. Crabtree at least has a shot. Gotta go with Spiller. I doubt he'll put up big numbers, but he should get more touches than Greene. It would be great if you responded to my thread as well. Thanks!

Here for ANY and ALL questions!

That makes sense. Thanks! Incidentally, I do have Ben Tate on my roster. You think he's worth starting over Maurice Morris or Kevin Smith?

Here for ANY and ALL questions!

Similar question. . .VJax, Brandon Lloyd, or Antonio Gates in my flex spot? (Non-PPR, .1 per yard, 6 per TD, -2 per turnover.) I've clinched a playoff berth but points are important because I have a shot at a bye week. Jackson makes me nervous. . .I'm kind of leaning toward Gates at this point. Starting already: WR: Calvin Johnson, Victor Cruz RB: Matt Forte, Kevin Smith/ Maurice Morris (whoever starts ) TE: Jimmy Graham

    Tom Brady vs Aaron Rodgers

Honestly, I don't think you'll go wrong with Rodgers or Brady this week. The Pats are probably more likely to run than the Packers but with Belichick you never can tell (remember that TD pass to Hernandez a couple weeks back in garbage time that got called back?). As for VJax vs. Colston vs. BLloyd. . .I have almost the same question (VJax vs. BLloyd vs. Antonio Gates). Here's the thing: I think Lloyd is almost guaranteed to put up decent but unspectacular numbers -- it's a very safe bet that he'll score 9-12 points but highly unlikely that he'll drop 20. Jackson, on the other hand, might score 2 or he might score 25. So it depends on how risky your other plays are this week. If you need the guaranteed points go with Lloyd; if you need to roll the dice a little go with Jackson. Colston I think might be somewhere in the middle -- he's more likely than Lloyd to have a big day and less likely than Jackson to have a lousy one, but he has more potential downside than Lloyd and less potential upside than Jackson. If you really can't decide, maybe go with Colston.

    PLEASE pick 2 WR

One more on the Robinson/ Colston bandwagon here. Brown is a little tempting but this is a real Put Up Or Shut Up week for Cincy so the Steelers might have it tough.
  9. So. . .I'm starting Megatron and Victor Cruz at WR and Jimmy Graham at TE in a fairly standard non-PPR league. The question now is, who goes in my flex spot? Vincent Jackson Brandon Lloyd Antonio Gates Yes, seriously. I unsuccessfully tried to trade Gates for a decent RB and now the trading deadline is long past (Forte is my only RB worth anything since Jamaal Charles and Jahvid Best went down). VJax is scary. . .sometimes he goes crazy but just as often he does nothing. Do I roll the dice, or go for a safe 9-10 points in Lloyd or Gates? I've clinched a playoff spot, but total points are important because if the chips fall my way (I need another team to win but score at least 4 fewer points than me) I can get a bye.

Wheeling and dealing, need some help WHIR

I love Megatron -- Tolbert vs Mathews is tough to say though. Either of those trades are OK. WAIT I think I misread. Do you mean Chris Johnson or Calvin Johnson? If Chris, then that! IMO Knox/Bush for Ingram/Williams is a good bet for a keeper league. Kolb and DJax for A. Green and D. Thomas is intriguing as well, if you think that Thomas will pan out in the long term. Thanks for helping with my JCharles question!
  11. So I need to replace Jamaal Charles (after scoring the second-most points of the week in a 10-team league and LOSING!). I shifted Jahvid Best from my flex spot to JC's RB spot, so one of these guys takes over at flex: Dexter McCluster Danny Woodhead Joseph Addai Brandon Lloyd I'm leaning toward Lloyd at this point, assuming he's healthy. Addai isn't likely to do much against the Steelers, and McCluster might be more of a wait-and-see at this point, although he could be getting a lot of kick return yardage. Maybe I'm overthinking things, but I believe that Woodhead might be due for a big game. You never know with the Pats. Thoughts?

    Trade Help

Depends how comfortable you are with Freeman. I think McFadden is probably a decent upgrade over Wells (assuming Wells doesn't magically break out this year). Then again, they've both had their injury issues. The Stafford vs. Romo and Flex decision is my thread.

    Leave a Link

It's all just sharing opinions. And it's not as though FF is an exact science to begin with (especially on week 1!) -- if somebody's overthought Ray Rice's matchup this week it's not like you're asking someone who just failed an algebra exam to help you with a differential equation.

Looking for opinions on QB and Flex

Good points. On a side note, speaking of Indy passing, Kerry Collins is 111 yards away from overtaking Joe Montana for #10 all time in passing yardage!
  15. I can Google for simple "start A over B" comments; what are the reasons you guys would use to make these decisions? Note that this is *not* a PPR league. QB: Romo is the main guy, but playing matchups it seems Stafford may have an easier time vs. the Bucs than Romo will vs. the Jets. Flex: Brandon Lloyd was the Man last year, but the Broncos may be more run-oriented this season. Jahvid Best, you never know -- he's a crapshoot from week to week. Addai I'm considering mainly because he's likely to see greater-than-normal action with Manning out. FWIW, here's the rest of my squad. With Calvin Johnson on board, I'm a little concerned about maybe putting too many eggs in the Detroit Basket. WR: Calvin Johnson, Vincent Jackson RB: Jamaal Charles, Matt Forte TE: Jimmy Graham (any week your TE finds the end zone is a Good Week. ) K: Sebastian Janikowski DEF/ ST: New England My bench is thus: WR: Brandon Lloyd, Danny Amendola, Roy Williams RB: Best, Addai TE: Brandon Pettigrew I feel like I went a little Lions-crazy in my draft after watching that crazy preseason game against the Pats.
