Accountant Turned Goalie For One Night in NHL
DankNuggs replied to Mr. Hand's topic in The Geek Club
Id say a little over half the beer league guys on my night were college hockey players, only a couple were D1. Had a few rare cameos of older former NHLers playing that was a lot of fun. I stopped in HS and picked it back up in my 30s. Most the guys I play with are late 40s early 50s so my talent gap is lessened by the age gap a bit, but those can can still really play. -
This is just ridiculous. And guns are getting more regulated, whether you remain delusional or not. it doesn't particularly matter.

Get Potlash seasoning from willams sonoma, brush some oil, put seasoning on salmon fillet, bake, enjoy. If you have leftovers can mash it up with mayo and it makes a fantastic salmon salad sandwich

It isn't counterintuitive at all... If you think about it, if you own a home defense weapon, it only becomes relevant in the event you have to use it. All other times it just exists as a liability. When you have to use it, the crime has ALREADY been committed. e.g. the robber is in your house. The home defense weapon is used in RESPONSE to a crime, not a deterrant. Its really a remote scenario amongst remote scenarios for when you use the gun and it really made the difference in your personal safety... If the robber was unarmed and ran away, well chances are your safety wasn't really in jeopardy, they were looking to steal and run. You are talking about a scenario with an armed intruder prepared to use it against you that you overwhelmed with your own firepower. Whats that? a coinflip on who is getting shot, maybe both parties. I'm failing to see where the safety comes into play. Maybe .1% of the time.... 99.99% of the time you just have a liability that might get taken, stolen, misused, accidents. etc.

I don't believe we should take away the choice. I think we need to be responsible about it. With freedom comes personal responsibility. If you make that choice, as the gun owner you should be liable for ANYTHING that happens with that gun. Someone get a hold of it and an accident or crime happens, its not an 'accident', you are liable. We should be reasonable about trying to stop crazy people from getting guns. Background checks, close loop holes, etc... And we should be reasonable about certain types of weapons that don't belong in civilian hands

Life is all cost/benefit. Your safety is a product of a number of factors. Probably the biggest is where you live. Probably the least of which is whether you have a gun. If you live in a safe area, the cost/benefit equation of keeping a gun in your home with small children around is alot different than living in a hellhole, with only adults in the household. In my mind the costs by orders of magnitude outweight the benefits, so keeping guns out of the house IMO greatly increase the safety of the family.

Ya this is what im talking about. You don't have protection from a tyrannical government at this point. I just shake my head when i read this stuff. Regulations to protect people (background checks, outlawing certain weapons, etc) are not mutually exclusive with being able to protect yourself in a home robbery.
-
I think thats a really far stretch. Fire arms are regulated now, and should be regulated more, regulation isn't unconstitutional. And lets remember that all this is about people keeping their toys. Just doesn't carry any weight to an argument

Add another teacher to the list...definitely would!

Id like to go golfing out there. Really need to put my foot down and establish a yearly golf destination vacation with the boys. -
And you believe owning a gun stops that? Correlation does not equal causation
-
Repeal the 2nd amendment and pass a law allowing ownership of 18th century muskets. No rights taken away and we can be done with the nonsense justification for people to stockpile instruments of war
-
I think this is borderline delusional. But i think its a fantasy thats been propped up as a vehicle of political control. Just as the left props up the fantasy of the federal government having the capacity to solve poverty as a vehicle of political control

Its a supremist group, what are you rationalizing? -
The guy did it himself. Why he did it seems like we are no further than we were the night of the attack

They were probably holding on until he passed out of respect for him

Cut eggplant thin, salt the slices and place them between some paper towels to shed water. Egg wash and breadcrumb, then bake them, flipping halfway through Layer in a pan, top with a little sauce and provolone, bake enough to melt cheese, serve. Its pretty good. Not fried, obv not the absolute healthiest
-
You need to dry out the eggplant and get it crispy. It is gets all mushy is no bueno
-
Are we talking Sicilian pizza here or dominos thin crust cut into squares which always leaves a handful of super tiny crust pieces. I dont really care, and I like dominos thin crust

Id start with finding an outdoor range with heated bays in your area and start working through some buckets when its decent enough to do so. Find your swing before taking a lesson. Lower the number of variables you are going to address. Taking a lesson when you havent picked up a golf club in 6 months isnt going to be the most efficient use of your time. There are all sorts of golf muscles you probably dont fire much in the offseason. Have to get in the semblance of golf shape and form before tinkering with the swing

to fumble. That was a great tournament. Gets you pumped up for golf season

-22 for me. Wasnt comfortable with a lead knowing Burns is a Sunday fader, didnt expect Fowler to double the last 2 holes. Ugly finish. Dechambeau played great

Tiebreaker notations really took it to the next level

Burns with a gutsy round. Bogeys the first 2 holes, goes on a 4 birdie run. Double bogey on the back to go E, then eagles the last par 5 and birdies 18 for -3
