A thread about songs about booze.

In some of my songs i have casually mentioned The fact that i like to drink beer This little song is more to the point Roll out the barrel and lend me your ears (Chorus:) I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow) Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact i like beer (he likes beer) My wife often frowns when we're out on the town And i'm wearing a suit and a tie She's sipping vermouth and she thinks i'm uncouth When i yell as the waiter goes by (Chorus) Last night i dreamed that i passed from the scene And i went to a place so sublime Aw, the water was clear and tasted like beer Then they turned it all into wine I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow) Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear Aw, this little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact i love beer (yes, he likes beer)

Question on New owners draft picks...

I agree as well. However, I'd like to get the rest of the league to comment. It's been pretty quiet.

Stick mentioned a few people. Anyone else have a suggestion?

They should both have access now.

    Brett Favre Retiring from Packers

Lifelong Packer fan and Favre loyalist. This crap with Moss pushes me to the official "I've had it" mode. It was the same whiney crap last year, yet here the team was one game away from the big one with the players Thompson did bring in. I know Favre is trying to deflect this now, but the fact that his brother and agent both brought it up just pisses me off. Thompson has a plan. Moss isn't in it. Everyone needs to get over it.

    Ryan Grant

Same here. And even before he tore it up, here's something that spoke volumes to me. Ted Thompson traded a draft pick for Grant. Thompson does not trade draft picks lightly. He is a pick horder, and they are his currency. The fact that the organization felt high enough on the guy to trade a pick for him is telling to me. Jackson's in the picture, but this is Grant's show.

Draft and standing data will always be there. They don't remove that.

    They're Wiping Our Data

I just saved 04, 05, and 06 off MFL as web archives. I'll be posting to my personal site soon. I can't guarantee I got everything, but I did my best.

    Replacement Owners

Yes, I think we're good to go. I'll start getting the site ready. Stick, can you please send me the email address for both of them. I have Blakes, but I don't think I have the other.
  11. Appears we're losing two members, and a third has considered retirement. And frankly, hanging it up has crossed my mind as well. So, let's vote. If we decide to keep the league going, I will commish.
  12. Hi my name is Shawn, i'm 25, and I live in Seattle, Washington. Jon told me to submit a little bit about myself regarding fantasy. I have been doing fantasy for about 10 years. The last 2 years I have been doing fantasy in big money leagues. I placed 1st in both leagues last year and 2nd and 3rd in the leagues this year. I have a lot of experience, I am very active on forums, plus I love to trade! I haven't done a dynasty league for a couple years but I have experience in the past with them. I think I would be a great addition to your league and look forward to hearing from you guys! Thanks for the opportunity! Shawn Autry
  13. VOTE ALREADY! Re: Fantasy Football‏ From: Blake Midstokke (bmidstokke@gmail.com) Sent: Fri 1/11/08 9:17 AM To: Jonathan Stickland (jstickland@hotmail.com) Hey I registered an account on the forum (Strokke) but need to be given permission before I can actually post in that thread myself... So here's my response: Name: Blake Midstokke Age: 21 # of years playing fantasy: 2 # of years in Dynasty: 0 Why join the league: I've played two years in a league with high school friends; year one there were 4 trades total in a 12-man (I was part of two of the trades) and year two there were 2 trades total (I was in both). I'm tired of burning hours researching and concocting trade proposals that just get ignored because of an inactive or disinterested league. This would be my first dynasty league, but my previous league was redraft Year 1 and 2-man keeper Year 2 so hopefully the variety will help me adjust fast.

Who is hitting the gym this week?

So I bought a bench and stocked up on dumbbells and got back into my favorite routine. The Men's Health Cover Model workout by Owen McKibbon. I did this workout about four years ago and got into the best shape of my life. I'm starting Phase Two in my basement tonight, and I'm very happy with my results from Phase One. This time, I've even decided to take his diet advice to heart, chomping down protein at a much higher rate. So far, I'm lifting MWF, playing basketball Tuesday, and hitting the treadmill/walking Thursday and sometimes Saturday.

Vote Now - Continue the League?

I can certainly use the help, as my third kid is coming mid-march. Things will be a little crazy for me. It's decided then, we're keeping this league alive. Let's get new owners lined up and vote.

    SEATTLE 34 Green Bay 3

Jerk. As long as it isn't 20 below with 40 mph winds, I'll take my chances.

    SEATTLE 34 Green Bay 3

Hi phillybear. I'd have to say I disagree completely here. Whether or not Green Bay is favored or not in this game is irrelevant. This team is still not totally buying their 'success' this season. You can read the comments from Favre every week, and it's clear they think they have a lot of work to do. They don't view themselves as an elite team in the league. They view themselves as a very young team with a lot of growing up to do. So, you can throw 'expections' away here. They didn't expect to be 13-3. They don't expect to blow out Seattle. And they don't expect to be labled a great team. However, they DO expect to play smart, fundamentally sound football. Every week. And McCarthy has proven to be very good with the game plan.

    League Status

I haven't seen any of these emails either. My email address is also correct on the site. Get me in the loop on this... I'm game for replacing both and continuing on. I'll volunteer to commish, especially since I'll likely get the site for free once again. Should be pretty straightforward. And all that said, I wish Jason and Jim the best. It's been a lot of fun playing with these guys. Hopefully we can all stay in touch.
  23. QB upgrade and more first round picks would be nice.....

Is Ryan Grant in your top ten RBs for 2008?

I've heard this from a few different posters now. Can you explain where you're getting this information? The Packers haven't even hinted at this as far as I know, unless I missed it. Plus, the whole reason Grant's in Green Bay is because he fits the scheme so well. So, why would they change it?
  25. hoffdaddy

    James Jones?

He's on the field, but there are a lot of options in the Green Bay offense right now with Koren Robinson back. Jones did drop a pass near the goal line this weekend. Would've been a touch catch, but it did hit him in the hands.
