Good hire for the Steelers. Who takes over in Minnesota?

    Battles in the Virtual World

Second Life is extremelyl interesting. Some big time players in technology, including IBM and Cisco, are setting up shop there. I think it's very important to keep on it, as it is providing a little bit a window into what the future might look like.

Sooooo. You didn't like his speech then? Go it.

I'm also a big fan on Tony Hunt. Big, power runner. Very north/south. He's one of those guys who does everything well, but nothing great. Guys like that stick in the NFL, and usually have pretty good careers. And I've said it before, but I've been impressed with Pittman. He plays like a man 20lbs heavier. Very powerful for a guy about 195, and I think he's got the frame to put on some more weight. His skills translate very well to the next level.

This is a very good point, and something I hadn't thought of. Something to keep an eye on.

Good point on LJ and Enis. But also, wasn't Enis plagued by injuries? Seems to me, his downfall was the injury bug, not necessarily skill set. I don't know. How does Bush handle the playbook? Shelton seemed to have a very, very hard time figuring out the playbook in Carolina, which also really hurt him. And from what I've seen so far, most 'experts' are predicting a 4.5-4.6 forty for Bush. He's fast for his size, but again, I think he'll have trouble getting to the corner at the next level. And it doesn't appear he likes to run inside. As for my top five impact players: WR Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech (6-5, 235) - A physical freak of nature. I think he can have a Larry Fitzgerald type of impact, regardless of where he ends up. RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma (6-2, 218) - The best back in the class. Were it not for some injuries this season, I think he'd be getting even more hype. But it's well deserved. RB Marshawn Lynch, California (5-11, 217) - An all around good running back. Has the potential be a stud. Would look real good in Green Bay. QB JaMarcus Russell, Louisiana State (6-6, 260) - I've warmed up on him quite a big. Has the size, smarts, and ability to play at high level as a pro. I'd like to see him throw the deep ball a little better, but he has all the tools. RB Antonio Pittman, Ohio State (5-11, 195) - Every time I've seen him play, I've thought he was much bigger than 195. He runs with the power of man 20 lbs bigger. If he can bulk up a bit, I think he his skills translate nicely to the NFL game.

    Badgers/Ohio state

Yeah, I'm defensive. You start off with 'focking' 'baby' and 'puzzay', yet I'm defensive. You came to this thread, a thread where Badger fans would post, and downplayed the win. "not sure I would pat myself on the back too hard there leroy. 3pt win on your court, against a group of freshmen who are starting to gel as a team." So which is it? Ohio State is the greatest thing since sliced bread, which everyone would have you believe so far this season. Or they are what they are. A talented, but young, inexperienced team that was probably ranked too high based on that. The point again is, as I said from the very beginnig of the season and frankly, right in this post. Ohio State is very talented. Ohio State is very young. Wisconsin is deep, talented, and EXPERIENCED. Hence, Ohio State should not have been ranked ahead of Wisconsin in any preseason poll.

These guys got you figured out. My twin boys are fraternal. Funny thing is, one is about two inches taller right now, so I often here "Are they twins?" The height difference throws people off.

    Badgers/Ohio state

Scoreboard. Don't even give me this crap. The entire country crowned Ohio State's asses before the season even tipped off. Their ranking was not deserverd. It's a talented Ohio State team, but it's a young Ohio State team. Wisconsin is a deep, experienced group, and should not have been ranked below Ohio State from the outset. They are who we thought they were. If you want to crown their asses, then crown them.

    AP hoops top 25 released

No doubt. Ohio State, with an injured Oden, are surviving with their three point shooting. Two things stood out for Wisconsin. 1. They didn't shoot free throws well down the stretch. 2. They didn't defend the three all that well, especially late. Considering they didn't play a very good game, to come out with a win is huge. They have a lot of room for improvement, which is unreal. And how about Marcus Landry blocking shots in the paint!! He played like he was 7' tall and 270 pounds.

Personally, I think you both have Michael Bush way too high. I don't like to make comparisons and draw that 'came from the same school' thing, but he is Eric Shelton. I watched a highlight video of him on youtube. The guy constantly ran outside. That's great, he's fast enough to get outside at the college level. However, unless he absolultely blazes a forty at the combine and suprises me, I feel he is not fast enough to get outside at the next level. In which case, he'll have to run inside, which doesn't appear to be what he prefers. Now, guys can change their running style a bit, but the more I read and see, the more I think he's going to wash out at the next level. Just my take.

    2007 NFL Draft Board

I believe Antonio Pittman, RB, Ohio State is going to enter the draft after the championship game. He's an easy top five RB, in my opinion. http://www.daytondailynews.com/s/content/o...07osunotes.html Pittman likes his NFL draft potential By Doug Harris and Kyle Nagel Thursday, January 04, 2007 SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The three Ohio State juniors still mulling decisions about whether to turn pro were mum on their plans Wednesday, but tailback Antonio Pittman liked what the NFL had to say about his potential draft status. "I'm not going to tell you what it was, but it's a good thing," he said. The NCAA allows players contemplating a move to ask the league for a guess on when they might be taken, and Pittman and receivers Ted Ginn Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez all filed the necessary paperwork. "I'll have to talk it out with my family," Pittman said. "We'll wait until after this game. That's what I'm worried about. We're just trying to get a national championship."

    Grossman "unprepared"?

Sheesh. What a bunch of douchery in this thread. Grossman is young enough that I hope he learned his lesson. The fact that it happened is inexcusable. However, we don't find out about the real Rex until their first playoff game. I'll be watching. If he stinks it up there, I think that's the time Bear fans should be really questioning him.

UW throws stereotype out the window Posted: Jan. 1, 2007 http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=547927 Michael Hunt Orlando, Fla. - You would think they have televisions in Arkansas, not that you would know it by the way the Natural State's leading college football team reacted to the airborne achievements of the Big Ten slug. "It did me," Razorbacks coach Houston Nutt said when asked if Wisconsin's passing ability had surprised him. "I didn't think they would throw and catch like that against us." Hmmm. That John Stocco guy only passed for, what, 7,000 yards in his career? Travis Beckum? Paul Hubbard? Luke Swan? Clearly, they were only getting open against, well, you know, other Big Ten slugs. "We stopped the run," said Keith Jackson's namesake, "and they came out with a little passing game." You mean "little" like the way the Badgers threw for 2,500 yards this season, which would be more than they rushed for? Can we please stop this nonsense already? Here in the seventh year of the new millennium, hasn't it been long established that this three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-FieldTurf gibberish left the building with Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler? Isn't it generally accepted that the Big Ten has athletes who can run and jump and catch and throw with the best of whatever they have in the Southeastern Conference, and have going on two decades now? The memory of Barry Alvarez nearly coming over the podium, bad foot and all two years ago at the mere suggestion that his Big Ten slugs couldn't run with the SEC jackrabbits, still hovers like a Stocco-to-Beckum end-zone floater. The Badgers didn't beat Georgia in the 2005 Outback Bowl, but they destroyed Auburn here last season and followed it up Monday with a 17-14 mission statement of sorts against the SEC finalist Razorbacks in the Capital One Bowl. Here's what the Badgers had to prove by beating Arkansas: Nothing. They are seriously legit, a genuine top-five team with all the qualities associated with being one of the truly outstanding teams in the non-playoff world in which they reside. The fact that they also play with the underdog's complex isn't necessary, but it sure doesn't hurt. "I'm just tired of hearing all that stuff," Stocco said after passing for 206 yards and two touchdowns in his final collegiate appearance. He was talking about, of course, the wrongheaded perception that the Big Ten is not worthy of breathing the same air as their SEC counterparts, but that did not stop Alvarez's resourceful successor from making it a point of motivational contention with his charges. Bret Bielema is very good that way, just as he tactically maneuvered Wisconsin to yet another slice of post-season glory on a day when it rushed for 5 yards fewer than you and me against the Razorbacks. He showed the Badgers video of some media wag in Arkansas saying UW had beaten exactly no one in the top-25 before leveling the Hogs. It managed to work the Badgers into a righteous pre-game froth, but just as they no longer have to run like, well, Wisconsin, to win, the rhetoric was superfluous. These Badgers stand on their own, thank you very much, and by the way Bielema can coach 'em up and the players stood in there against a team that gave Florida all it wanted in the SEC championship game, they should be a national player for years to come. Of course, there will always be skeptics in this cross-sectional debate, including the redoubtable Mr. Nutt. "I'm partial because I'm a believer in SEC football," he said. "When you lose, you don't have much to say. But we've got an awfully strong conference, guys." So does Wisconsin.

    Wisconsin is a fraud

I truly do hope you understand this. Arkansas played a hell of a game. But every year, us Badger fans have to listen to this crap. Wisconsin is slow. They play only power football. They can't hang with the speed of their opponent. They aren't as good as they're ranking. This is every freaking year. Bottom line is the final score. Wisconsin was badmouthed heading into two straight bowl games and won, against the SEC, when they were told they didn't stand a chance. Frankly, I'm getting sick of hearing about how Wisconsin got lucky, and they can't hang with the speed of other schools.
