It wasn't that big of a thing back in my day, but I guess it's a big deal now among the late teens/early 20s crowd. My 28 year old daughter bartends, and she was complaining today at Thanksgiving dinner that last night she was called "Ma'am" twice.

Same here. At first, I thought I had one less than you, but I recounted and remembered I had seen It's a Wonderful Life. I didn't count any I've only seen bits and pieces of, though.
