Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey nominates former romantic partner to state's high court

I'm not as concerned about the prior relationship as I am with the fact that another flaming liberal will be appointed to the MA Supreme court -

Calling EDJR - Superbowl Squares this year?
Thornton Melon replied to SUXBNME's topic in The Geek Club
We called it "tonic" when I was a kid, but that's died off. It's just "soda" now. And it's not "Bahstahn", it's "Bawwstihn" -
2nd To Last Episode Of The Shield Tonight
Thornton Melon replied to George Carlin's topic in The Geek Club
I had the experience with SOA that you had with The Shield. I just watched the last couple of seasons because I had so much time invested in it. I just wanted it to end. I love Walton Goggins, but that whole tranny storyline was just creepy and unrealistic....there's no way that would fly with a biker gang. -
2nd To Last Episode Of The Shield Tonight

I could not possibly disagree more. I thought The Shield was great all the way thru, and particularly Season 5, which was probably the best season of any show I've ever watched. -
There should be an option #3: Equally pointless

Which would be the more visually impressive? Which would make you more money?

Sorry, I didn't mention the punter is able to adjust the launch angle so he could put it inside the other team's 5 yard line every time -

Wouldn't you just be giving the other team the ball on their own 20 every time? I'd rather have a guy that could punt the ball 200 yards vertically -
He was 3 or 4 levels below Bourla

1. Trust me, I don't need a link 2. This guy's Pfizer Teams profile, complete with his photo and org chart, was posted on the Internet a year ago when this first happened. (I thought everyone knew this.)
-
That guy worked for Pfizer, up until quite recently. He either quit, or was hit in the layoffs in December. He was a director, but Pfizer has hundreds, maybe thousands, of employees with the word "Director" in their job title. He was pretty high up, though. That said, he didn't reveal anything nefarious about the company or the vaccine. He simply said a colleague wondered aloud in a meeting if the virus could be manipulated so it would be more stable and susceptible to the vaccine. Which for a coronavirus is basically impossible, since it does what it damn well pleases.

What are the dumbest rules in sports?
Thornton Melon replied to JustinCharge's topic in The Geek Club
Why, thank you As far as few rules favoring the defense, I agree. One I hate is the neutral zone infraction. I like the old days when the O-Line had to stay still until the ball was snapped, no matter what the defense did. The onus should be on the offense to stay put until the ball is snapped. If they went back to the old rule, that would have much more of an impact on offense-defense equity than the touchback rule does. -

A football field is 160 ft wide and 360 ft long, including the end zones. Teams should be as reckless as they want within that boundary, and if you don't recover an opponent's fumble within that boundary, you don't deserve the football. -

Nah...the NFL loves Taylor Swift, so the rule will be changed next year (as it should) -

Makes sense...most of my experience with CT is southern (Groton/New London area) in the late '80s to mid '90s. It was a definite NY sports team vibe. -

I consider Connecticut part of New York. It seems to have that mindset, especially when it comes to sports teams. They're more NYC than they are Boston. -

Is it me or is there Pass Interference on almost every pass play?
Thornton Melon replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
I don't mind a little bit of contact, but what I hate is the "arm-bar". Seems like DBs are getting away with it more and more, and WRs are expected to make one-handed catches all the time.
