It wasn't that big of a thing back in my day, but I guess it's a big deal now among the late teens/early 20s crowd. My 28 year old daughter bartends, and she was complaining today at Thanksgiving dinner that last night she was called "Ma'am" twice.

Same here. At first, I thought I had one less than you, but I recounted and remembered I had seen It's a Wonderful Life. I didn't count any I've only seen bits and pieces of, though.

You know what else is dumb in the NFL? Players are strapping mouth guards to their face mask, but not actually using the mouth guard. It just dangles there while they're playing. In the Pats-Browns game last weekend, there was a Browns player with TWO mouthguards strapped to his face mask. Focking dooosh, you look like a focking clown. If it was up to me, players have two choices: use the mouth guard, or don't have one at all.

I know they're not machines. They're living beings. That's why it's called biomechanics. Basically, anything you wear other than track shoes and an aerodynamic track suit will slow you down.

Any extra weight you wear on your body is going to slow you down, no matter how infintessimally. It's just simple biomechanics.
