    The "Offensive Player" position strategy

Without a doubt, you have to get a quality QB first round. If a top 15 QB is available with the 2nd, draft another one. If not, go with an RB.In an OP league, QBs are a huge advantage. If for instance you can start Brees and say a Wilson or Romo each week, you should have a big advantage right out of the gate. With the deep ranks of WRs this year, you can afford to wait a bit on this.
  2. I have Richardson #5 on my board right now, Rice #6. The time share risk in Baltimore for me is the swing factor. This could limit Rice's upside and Richardson already has more upside potential. But that being said, I wouldn't be dissatisfied with either.

Harvin on PUP - Hip Injury

All of this makes him in my opinion undraftable this weekend as anything other than a WR5 or 6. There is way too much risk and uncertainty.

    When do you start drafting?

In the leagues I have run, the drafts were usually the weekend before Labor Day weekend. I like the later the better but as someone said people are away and doing other things on the holiday weekend. The danger of early drafts are injuries, like what happened to people who drafted Ryan Mathews before the first pre season game last year.

Peyton Hillis signs with the Bucs

For a player who is considered Top 5 at this position and thus is a MUST performer if you draft him, I think you have to consider the possible vulture implications of this. I am downgrading him on my list a couple of spots.
  6. Miller looks like THE MAN in Miami. No timeshare. Wilson has more upside, but if he fumbles early, he's done and Brown could also be a goal line vulture. Unless you are stuck with limited options drafting late in a deep league, I think Wilson is too risky to take as an RB1 and if he taken as a 2, I would take Brown later on as insurance.

C.J. Spiller vs LeSean Mccoy in PPR?

Spiller. There is less uncertainty here than in Philly where you are not only dealing with a new coach bringing in a college offense but a potential vulture of playing time in Bryce Brown.

Anyone giving DMAC one more chance this year ?

Nope. Leopards don't change their spots. The only way I would even consider this risk is as my 4th RB taken off the board.

    Who's #2?

I'm not yet sold on Martin. I would lean towards Foster or maybe even Lynch.

    Jennings wont hit 1k yards

Agree. I wouldn't consider unless it was as a WR 4 and there was nobody better still out.

    why the hate for CJ2K?

The situation with Greene really depresses his value I think, but if you can get him as an RB3 or 4 it may be worth it. He's burned some people in the past, but he's done well for me the last 2 years and actually helped me win a championship at year end 2 years ago. You had to realize he was a situational player. When he was playing against weaker defenses, play him. When he was not, bench him. It wasn't hard to figure out once you saw the pattern.
  12. Is myfantasyleague free or pay? I've been at ESPN but am having a technical issue with site and my computer, so I did check out NFL.com a couple of days ago. I didn't like it. The filters for selecting leagues are limited so people have to search through myriads of leagues to find one they like, especially if you are not into plain vanilla standard formats.

    2 QB league

Most leagues I play in are 2 QB leagues. Yes, if you have a chance to get one of the studs(Rodgers, Brees, Peyton, Brady and maybe even Ryan), you should get him. After that you can sort of play it by ear. Its going to depend on if you want to load up on QBs by getting a Romo, Stafford, Luck or even an RGII next if they are available, or load up your WRs and RBs and then get middle tier guys like Palmer, Bradford,Cutler and Vick later on.
  14. So what is the relevance of this on a Fantasy Football board?

Which fantasy football magazine do you use?

I strongly disagree with the posts that say mags are useless. They are a valuable tool, ALONG with the Internet. I use all of them except Fox( have never seen it in my bookstore). There are different points of view between mags so it is up to me to decide what I think is good and what is not so good information. Its all about PREPARATION and my record speaks for itself. Championship teams in each of the last 4 years and a close to 75% record of my teams making the playoffs.

    Breaking out of fantasy mediocrity

Not sure if you are running multiple teams each year or just one. I learned after my first season to run multiple teams. There are always going to be injuries and people under producing, but spread over 4 or 5 teams, I always have at least one that is not hurt too bad, if at all by these problems. I also found that trying to play both PPR and Non PPR was too difficult because many players can be valuable in one but not the other. So to simplify things, I chose to focus only on Non keeper PPRs. I also think that the draft is overrated. When I look at my championship teams, almost never is 1/2 my team in the Championship game players I originally drafted. Yes, there are the #1 and #2 draft pick studs and mainstays of the team, but after that, its in season management. As an example, the 12 starter PPR league team that I won a title with last year had Pierre Garcon, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Alfred Morris, Danario Alexander, T Y Hilton, Vick Ballard and Knowshon Moreno at the end of the season, all players I did not draft and picked up on waivers. Earlier, I had Marcel Reece and Bryce Brown on the roster for a few weeks when they had big games as starters when McCoy and McFadden were hurt. This year I am going to still do my research and prepare but I am not going to sweat out the draft. The last point I want to make is do your research and spend THE TIME during the season. Boards like this are great. Follow services like Roto Wire for inside information. Watch one of the Sunday morning Fantasy shows. There is often late breaking news that could affect how you set your roster. And check your league sites every night if possible and if not every other night. That is how I found that people had put players like Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck and believe it or not Alfred Morris ( and in another league Trent Richardson) on waivers early in the season and got them ahead of someone else. There is also the power of positive thinking. Make an informed decision, do it and never second guess yourself.

    Kaepernick vs R.Wilson

To me, Wilson plus Harvin trumps Kap minus Crabtree. But if Wilson is gone, then Kap is not a bad alternative.

    SJAX (2nd round MUST OWN)

I would consider him later but not as a 2nd rounder. For Atlanta, this was a pick up as a better alternative to an Over the Hill Michael Turner. There is still Rodgers and even Snelling in the mix to take touches away especially on 3rd down.

    Greg Jennings

I'm very leery here given his injuries the last 2 years and Ponder as his QB. I would draft him at best as my #4 WR,if there was no one better, playing the other three and sitting him on the bench with a wait and see attitude starting the season.
