  1. Adjust the schedule so the season starts a week later and add some teams to the playoffs for another week of playoff games and hold the SB the Sunday before President's Day. Or move the game to Saturday, which I personally like better.
  2. Agree wholeheartedly. Conditioning players becomes less of a factor when players get two minute breaks every three minutes.

***The Official Seattle Seahawks 2013 Season Thread***

Take a break, guys, and watch something uplifting. http://nesn.com/2014/01/duracell-releases-ad-featuring-deaf-seahawks-running-back-derrick-coleman-urges-to-trust-your-power-video/
  4. Too bad they have to interrupt all these commercials with some football.
  5. The Eagles last drive should have taken the rest of the clock. That was just dumb. They were having success running, they should have kept the ball on the ground, chipped their way downfield staying inbounds, and have been content with 4 yard gains the whole way. They controlled the ball, and the clock, and stupidly went for a TD with 4 minutes left. Live and learn. It was a good season, better than expected, now they need to get a pass rush in the offseason.

    2014 mock first round draft

Too early for this thread. Without knowing draft outcome/trades/FA signings, I am hard pressed to guess. A huge consideration for me in choosing RBs, and QBs, is OLine. I would much rather have a mediocre QB behind a top notch OLine than a great RB/QB tandem that has a mediocre OLine blocking for them. I will wait and see what the draft yields and what offseason moves occur before I even consider rankings.

Oh, Dallas...it never gets old! The best part of the night was watching Jerry Jones react to the final interception.

    Sit kicker?

Not sure if I get the mean comments because of the "philly" or the "grrl" but if I am gonna hang out here I know I will need thick skin. I played Dawson, he got me 11 points, so I am sorry to report that I won.

    Sit kicker?

So I am down something like 15 points going into last night's game (I stopped watching the fantasy cast after Lacy got a TD after the blocked field goal. My opponent had Lacy.) I had McCoy and Dawson still left to play, my opponent had Forte and Alshon to play. I just checked the totals, and I squeaked by with McCoy's 28 for a 97.1 to 95.6 lead with Dawson left to play for me. My opponent is done. Question: should I pull Dawson on the off chance he gets me negative points and hands me a loss, or do I play Dawson out of fear of a stat correction Tuesday morning that gives my opponent a come from behind win?

    Sit kicker?

Thanks, all, for your input. We do lose points for missed kicks, so it makes me nervous, but I am going to play him.

    I am lost

It is Thursday night and there is no game on. Is this the night people hunt down posters and punch them in the face in front of the wife and kids?

I would of course only do it if I was on his porch.

Commish about to get his due

I have never been involved in a league that doesn't allow pickups once playoffs start. Trades are cut off in mid-November, but playoffs last usually three weeks in most leagues. If someone had Gronkowski, say, in the first week of playoffs, that means they are left without a TE for the duration of the playoffs unless they had the foresight to carry a second TE, which is not likely.

    Cowboys talk

Romo just solidified his place firmly in the middle of the pack of mediocre, over-rated QBs. Couldn't have happened at a better time.

    Aaron Rodgers out for ROS?

Per Rotoworld: "The 5-6-1 Packers' season is just about over. They have little hope for the playoffs, and Rapoport adds that the team is considering shutting Rodgers down for the rest of the year, especially since their postseason hopes are slim. The combination of Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien has "led" the Packers to three consecutive losses, while Flynn looked completely incapable of running an NFL offense Thursday against the Lions. If Rodgers can't return, it will be a huge blow to Jordy Nelson, Eddie Lacy, and the rest of Green Bay's skill position players' fantasy stocks. Rodgers is throwing without pain, but there's still a real possibility the bone isn't healed and could be dislodged, creating a career-threatening injury. We'll know more this upcoming practice week. Dec 1 - 9:04 AM" Time to drop him?
  20. In both of my money leagues, the team that scores the most points in week 17 gets their entry fee back. This encourages everyone to stay in it until the end, and gives everyone who is out of the playoffs a reason to remain engaged. We put this in so that everyone keeps playing the best team they possibly can until the bitter end.

    Zac Stacy

Per Rotoworld, Stacy has been medically cleared to play and is listed as probable for Sunday's game.

    Lessons learned from ff

Hindsight has 20/20 vision. The best thing the mocks prepared me for was picking up Gio B in the 8th round and Cameron Jordan in the 10th. The busts of this season may be the nice picks everyone waits on next season and are drafted late, like this year's Fred Jackson or Knowshon Moreno. Who would have thought that some of the first round RB picks would be busts, with through injuries or playing below expectations? Martin, Foster, Spiller, Morris, TRich, Ridley, and Rice were taken in the first round or early in the second in most leagues. You can make yourself crazy second guessing, just be happy if you drafted Charles, McCoy, Lynch, or Forte.

Any Sadomasochists starting Spiller this week?

Spiller was available in two of my leagues this week so I picked him up. I have clinched a bye in the first week of playoffs in one, so I thought I'd start him and see how he does.
